Tune in to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Zack SnyderFROM MOVIES BLOG: It’s the bold news that all of Hollywood is still buzzing about, as well as weighing its implications: 10 movies will be nominated for Best Picture at the next Oscars, double the usual amount. But when I caught up with Zack Snyder this week, he had yet to hear the news.

“10?” marveled the “Watchmen” and “300” director, who had been tied up all day doing interviews for those films’ upcoming Blu-Ray releases. “No way!”

The good news is that “Jonah Hex” is finally getting the recognition he deserves, with an awesome recent episode of “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” and an upcoming “Jonah Hex” movie starring Josh Brolin. The better news is that Megan Fox plays a barely-dressed prostitute in the August 2010 film, and that sequels are in the works.

The bad news? Well, Megan is barely in “Jonah Hex.” In fact, when it comes to her role, she even went so far as to invoke the dreaded “c” word.

“It’s basically a cameo,” revealed Fox when we spoke with her recently. “She’s a twisted love-interest to Jonah’s character; my part’s pretty small.” Read More...

Memories of my childhood: Jonah Hex used to freak me out, big time. As much as I loved reading the comic tales of the Western anti-hero with the messed-up face, I also had many a nightmare fueled by him -- particularly when my father brought home this issue for his impressionable young son. Now, Jonah is coming back with an awesome recent episode of “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” and an upcoming "Jonah Hex" movie starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox.

And, according to the latter, “Hex” sequels are sure to follow.

“You don’t think there will be a sequel to ‘Jonah Hex’?” Megan Fox teased when we caught up with her recently, discussing the future of the gunslinging bounty-hunter. “They leave it open for a sequel.” Read More...

Alexander SkarsgardRecently, he came this close to landing one of the most highly-sought-after star-making roles in Hollywood. But don’t feel too bad for stocky Swede Alexander Skarsgard, because he returns next week for the second season of the hit series “True Blood” -- which takes a bit of the sting out of the fact that he won’t be Thor.

“Yeah, I met with [Marvel Studios chief] Kevin [Feige] a few times and the director [Kenneth Branagh],” the affable Skarsgard admitted when asked about rumors that he was one of the last people cut before Chris Hemsworth was chosen to play the Norse god of thunder. “There was definitely some truth in that, yeah.” Read More...

DeadpoolIt’s the dream of every comic-book fan, whether they’ll admit it or not. The chance to become your favorite character, impact his story, and help determine his future.

Now, after years of lobbying for the role and finally being rewarded with a huge opening for his debut in the recent “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Ryan Reynolds has complete control over the character of Wade Wilson. Recently, he clued us in on some of the characters he expects to see in the “Deadpool” spinoff movie -- but, as he told us, the best part of the gig is the hands-on approach that he’s been given in developing it. Megan FoxFor obvious reasons, people are excited about the upcoming film adaptation of “Jonah Hex.” And for even more obvious reasons, men are excited to see Megan Fox’s performance in the film.

Now, the stunner is finally talking about her deadly, beautiful and mysterious femme fatale.

“That movie is gonna be amazing,” explained the “Transformers” star. “It’s a post-civil war, apocalyptic type Western. The director Jimmy [Hayward] is a lunatic, and he might be a genius. From some of the things I’ve seen him shoot, it’s a badass movie.” Read More...

Iron Man 2Last night, MTV News went to the set of “Iron Man 2,” the eagerly-anticipated sequel to the beloved superhero flick that took Tony Stark off the B-list and put him into the same stratosphere as Batman, Spidey and Supes.

“You’ve seen ‘Iron Man,’ right?” director Jon Favreau asked as he met us on one of the soundstages. Um… yeah! Read More...

Cable and DeadpoolIt’s no secret that we’ve been pulling for a “Deadpool” spin-off movie for quite some time now, so we were excited when “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” opened big and a solo Ryan Reynolds adventure was greenlit just days later.

“Well, your voice is part and parcel to that. That’s one of the reasons that I think the movie is happening, and all this is happening,” Reynolds told MTV News, saying some nice things about the MTV team when I caught up with him over the weekend and giving me a status report. “It’s in fast-track development at this point.” Read More...

FROM MTV MOVIES: On Sunday, at the MTV Movie Awards, invited guests include Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and director Michael Bay. But even those high-wattage talents might not be the most exciting "Transformers" star you'll see this weekend.

"He is the king bee," LaBeouf told us recently as he discussed The Fallen, unveiling him to "Transformers" fans for the first time anywhere. "He's the patriarchal figure, he's the main dude. He's what all of this came from."
