While there are plenty of people out there who are more than happy to repeatedly watch Stallone's 1995 "Judge Dredd" film adaptation, I don't count myself among them. Sure, it's good for a campy laugh, but the movie veers too far from its 2000 AD namesake for me to really enjoy it. Now that Hollywood is taking a second crack at the franchise with "Dredd," there's some hope we'll see a better representation of the series.

MTV News caught up with Olivia Thirlby, who portrays Cassandra Anderson in the film, during the Sundance Film Festival. Apparently, she spent some time digging into the comic books before tackling the role.

"The script was really, really good," said Thirlby. "But I was playing a character that existed in the comics, and actually had her own spin-off, 'Judge Anderson'...I looked at the comics a lot. She was drawn by a bunch of different people, as well as written by a bunch of different people. So, there's lots of different Andersons."

Earlier today, we showed you the new cover of Empire magazine, adorned with the faces of the "Avengers" cast. Well, not the entire cast – there's a few faces missing. Of course, those are characters that we're aware of, like Hulk. But what if Joss Whedon and his team were actually planning a big surprise cameo for their superhero ensemble?

There's a rumor circulating about, and if true, it's kind of a big deal. I'll give you the obligatory "spoiler" warning here, but only as a precursor to explaining what sounds like a load of bologna. Either that, or a potentially bad idea.

Walking Dead

Mid-season finales are tough, and that's doubly true when the show in question throws out such gut-twisting surprises as "The Walking Dead." Big questions were answered – perhaps not in the most pleasing manner – but there's no doubt that fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the season's second-half.

If you just can't wait until February 12, AMC has been kind enough to post a couple sneak peek videos taken from episode 208, "Nebraska." There's no spoilers within, however the second video does introduce two new, mysterious characters.

Spider-Man

Disney's action-oriented network for pre-teens, Disney XD, hasn't always been absent of superhero programing. "The Spectacular Spider-Man," which started on Warner Bros.' CW network, found a home on Disney XD, before ending its run in 2009, for example.

Marvel has announced that Spider-Man will make his "Ultimate" return to the channel, and he's not coming alone this time. An entire programming block will now feature all kinds of Marvel superhero content. Fans can expect to find the likes of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk – are you seeing an "Avengers" pattern, here? – when the block premieres on April 1.

The "Avengers" hype train is pulling out of the station, and while production photos are slowly making their way out every week, Marvel is hoping to put the superhero vibe in your social network. If you're tired of cultivating turnips, or writing your name with corn, or whatever it is one does with "FarmVille," an "Avengers" themed game just might be the answer.

"Lego Batman" is really popular; as in, sold over 11 million copies since releasing back in 2008, popular. While other Lego videogames have performed well – the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" adaptations immediately come to mind – the Dark Knight's turn with virtual plastic blocks has outpaced them all.

So, it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros. and Traveller's Tales have decided to create a follow-up game. The fact that the sequel adds more superheroes into the mix – DC heroes, natch – actually sounds pretty great.

Zen Studios and Marvel have collaborated previously on successful pinball titles, adding superhero-themed tables to existing products like "Pinball FX 2" for Xbox 360, or "Marvel Pinball" for PlayStation Network. The Marvel tables are really great – and they're addictive, so addictive – so it's nice to hear that the two companies are interested in continuing their work together.

Sometime later this year, we'll see a new "Incredible Hulk" table. Well, at least we know he's going to be involved in a table -- it's still not immediately clear whether or not that table is actually an "Avengers" tie-in.

Fans of Garth Ennis' violent comic-book series, "The Boys," are well-aware of one principal character's resemblance to Simon Pegg. In fact, series artist Darick Robertson has acknowledged that Scottish-brogue-spewing Hugh "Wee Hughie" Campbell was actually modeled after the "Shaun of the Dead" star. So, perhaps it's no surprise that Adam McKay, reportedly helming the planned film adaptation, would love to see Pegg in the role – assuming the film makes it to the screen.

Speaking to MTV News, Pegg acknowledged his interest in the part – even stating that he's read the script – but worries that he's possibly "too old" to play Wee Hughie.

When it comes to videogame-related news, there's two times a year when things slow to an absolute crawl. The first being the middle of summer, and the second being – well, this whole week. Just before the holiday, Marvel announced the release of some superhero-themed shirts, props, and other paraphernalia for the Xbox Live avatar marketplace. The good news? You can finally adorn your digital doppelganger with giant Hulk hands.
