Spider-Man musicalYesterday, MTV News rounded up some of the early reviews of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark," the Broadway musical that's currently in preview performances leading up to its March 15 opening. With most of those reviews painting the continually delayed, problem-plagued show in a negative light, a spokesman for the musical saw fit to offer some criticism of his own, calling critics' actions "uncool."

"The PILE-ON by the critics was ridiculous and uncalled for," said the show’s spokesman Rick Miramontez in a statement to EW. "Their actions are unprecedented and UNCOOL!"

Though the show isn't scheduled to open until next month, critics broke tradition by releasing their reviews on February 7, the original premiere date for the show. The musical was delayed for the fifth time earlier this year, pushing its start date yet again in order to "fine-tune aspects of the show, including the new ending," according to a press release. Black Death - Simon BisleyWay back in May 2010, we gave you the first look at a poster for George Romero's "Survival Of the Dead" created by "The Walking Dead" artist Charlie Adlard, and more recently, we brought you a poster for Gareth Edwards' "Monsters" created by "Silent War" artist Frazer Irving. The recent trend of having comic book artists create posters for cool genre films shows no sign of slowing, either, as today we have the exclusive debut of a poster for the upcoming film "Black Death" created by veteran British comics artist Simon Bisley.

Probably best known for his work on titles like "Lobo" and "Judge Dredd," Bisley appears to have embraced the gorier elements of the film's medieval setting for the poster, which depicts star Sean Bean as Ulric, a knight tasked with investigating a mysterious village rumored to be protected from the plague via supernatural magics. Bisley previously illustrated the poster for the 2010 film "Centurion."

"Black Death" is available now on VOD, Xbox Live, Playstation Network, iTunes and Amazon, and will hit theaters March 11. You can check out Bisley's creepy poster for the film below, and read on for the full plot synopsis. Read More...

Swamp ThingIt's been a while since we heard anything regarding the hinted-at plans for new films based on DC's "Swamp Thing" and "Sgt. Rock" comic books. And while that sort of radio silence can sometimes mean good things are afoot behind the scenes, that doesn't seem to be the case for these two projects.

MTV News recently spoke with "Swamp Thing" and "Sgt. Rock" producer Joel Silver during the press junket for his latest film, "Unknown," and got an update of sorts on the two projects.

"I don’t know, there are rights issues with Swamp Thing," Silver told MTV News when asked if we'll ever see the 3-D "Swamp Thing" movie he hinted at back in August 2009. "I’m not sure if we could clear that up but we’re always working on something. We like the idea of making a 3-D version of that story, but it’s not something we can do right now." Read More...
