Just last month, we had word that Paramount's rights to "Torso", the 1998 Image miniseries by Brian Michael Bendis, were dangerously close to expiration. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Paramount has indeed let the rights lapse, bringing the film's future into serious question.
"Torso," the story of Elliot Ness' investigation into the real-life 1930s Cleveland Torso Murderer, was set to be adapted by David Fincher as a film potentially titled "Ness." Though there are persistent rumors about Fincher being difficult to work with, the financial and critical success of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" seemed an excuse to give the man carte blanche.
