The wait is almost over! Marvel's widely anticipated "Avengers" movie is now just two weeks away! Two weeks too many if you ask us.

With all of the glowing reviews that "The Avengers" has already received, it would be foolish not to expect Marvel to churn out a sequel. After all, the studio has a serious case of sequel syndrome as of late, what with "Captain America 2," "Thor 2," and "Iron Man 3" currently in development.

Yet, despite the fantastic thought of another "Avengers" movie, there still remains one important question. Will Joss Whedon be returning to helm the sequel? Speaking with MTV News, the director had this to say on the matter: "Marvel gave me so much trust and the movie that I said, 'Well, if I was going to do this I'd like to do this.' And that's the movie I made. They only ever moved it forwards and collaborated and supported me. And I gotta tell you, that's unusual from a studio."

Excelsior! Fanboys and fangirls of all ages are teeming with excitement in anticipation of the "Avengers" movie, now only two weeks away. Those who have been paying even the slightest bit of attention will be quick to realize that "The Avengers" is not just a movie, but an event that's been in the making ever since Marvel released its first "Iron Man" back in 2008.

"I don't know if people are aware of what an accomplishment the 'Avengers' movie is," states Stan Lee in a recent interview promoting the "Marvel Heroes Weekend" event taking place on the EPIX channel from April 27 - April 29.

Being the creator of several of the most popular superheroes in the Marvel universe, Stan Lee also played an instrumental part in creating the original "Avengers" comic book.

As part of Summer Movie Preview week, "Amazing Spider-Man" director Marc Webb swung through MTV News to share his perspective on his flick's baddie, Curt Connors, better known as The Lizard.

Webb argued that The Lizard was the right choice for this new film because the villain fit the theme of the story, saying, “We all have a missing piece. How we look to fill that void is how we define ourselves. It made sense. After I figured that out, it was a logical choice."

Makes sense. But as a longtime Spider-fan, there are other reasons why The Lizard makes an amazing and compelling villain for Spidey to tangle with. Here are just a few.

Hulk fans, rejoice! During an interview with former "Heroes" actor Adrian Pasdar, IGN learned that the not-so-jolly green giant's latest cartoon series will feature the vocal talents of Eliza Dushku as She-Hulk. Pasdar, who voices Iron Man on "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Marvel Anime: Iron Man," will also be reprising his role in a guest appearance on "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."

Whedonites will undoubtedly be happy to hear that Dushku, another Joss Whedon alum, will be joining the ranks of superheroes in the Marvel universe. Even though it's not the "live-action" Marvel universe, there's always that chance of the two merging the gap. After all, Whedon is currently playing a huge hand in the Marvel movie universe and it's no secret that the two enjoy working together. Plus, Dushku would make a phenomenal live-action She-Hulk!

What happens when you take TV shows like "House" and "Fringe," get them really drunk, lock them in a room together, and blast some of Barry White's greatest hits? We'll give you a hint. It begins with "Witch" and ends with "Doctor." Still can't figure it out? From the demented mind of Brandon Seifert, "Witch Doctor" is the most awesome medical horror comic to date. (In fact, "Witch Doctor" might be the only medical horror comic to date.)

With a unique combination of spine-tingling terror and medical drama, there's no doubt that "Witch Doctor" would be an immensely successful TV show. If people love shows like "Nurse Jackie" and "True Blood," then odds are they'll enjoy a show that seamlessly smashes the two of them together.

"Witch Doctor" also happens to be the first official title published by Skybound Entertainment, "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman's imprint through Image Comics. And given all of the success in TV adaptations that Kirkman has seen recently, we think there's a good chance that a "Witch Doctor" TV show could be an instant hit.

Earlier in the week, we posted a portion of our Summer Movie Preview week interview with "Amazing Spider-Man” director Marc Webb, who dropped a few juicy tidbits, the most revealing of which was his willingness to move away from Spider-Man origin staples. The director admitted that there were "obligations to the canon, in terms of Uncle Ben and the spider-bite, but the conditions under which those things happen are very different" in his movie.

And I for one as a Spider-Man fan couldn’t be happier to hear this. Like most comic characters that have been around long enough, Spidey’s history has gone through a few updates and retcons, and it’s a good sign for the movie that Marc Webb seems to be picking and choosing what works and what doesn’t for a modern audience.

So let’s talk about the elements of Spider-Man’s early history that should probably stay, and which should go the way of Ben Reilly…

In a recent interview with Tom Hiddleston, who will be reprising his role as Loki in the upcoming "Avengers" movie, the English actor made it a point to mention that his character will be confronting each member of the Avengers individually before the film is over. True to his word, this new clip from "The Avengers" gives us a glimpse at one of those aforementioned scenes.

Taking place inside one of the many penthouse suites of Stark Tower, Loki pays Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, a little unexpected visit. His purpose? Probably to discourage him from gathering Earth's mightiest heroes and putting a stop to his evil scheme. After all, Loki is the god of mischief. And what better way to cause mischief than by threatening your enemy in his own home?

Loki is dastardly clever, if nothing else. If he can't immediatedly have what he wants, he will trick his way into getting it through his mastery of lies and deception. With that said, here's a look at how we think Loki's scenes with the other members of the Avengers might play out.

It's one thing when a comic book that you wrote becomes a sensational television show beloved by all. But two comic books? If anyone deserves that praise, it's certainly Robert Kirkman.

Best known for creating "The Walking Dead" and acting as executive producer on the show, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Kirkman's newest comic book series, "Thief of Thieves," is now in development over at AMC.

This should come as no surprise, being as Kirkman's "Walking Dead" has done incredibly well commercially for the cable network. Raking in a total of 9 million viewers for its season finale, "Walking Dead" continues to reach the much-coveted age demographics that advertisers so desperately seek. Click past the jump for more on "Thief of Thieves."
