Captain America

Considering the success "The Avengers" had in 3D, was there ever any doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies that followed would go the same route? "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World" have already been confirmed in the format, and now "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" are getting the same 3D treatment.

Disney announced the news in a press release, and also confirmed both films' release dates. "The Winter Soldier" will "pick up where 'Marvel’s The Avengers' leaves off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world." "Guardians," on the other hand, "features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions."

The comic book movie statues are coming, the comic book movie statues are coming! Both Hot Toys and DC Comics have unveiled some of the "Iron Man 3" and "Man of Steel" tie-in merchandise we can expect this year, and it looks great.

Iron Man 3

First up: Hot Toys. The company unveiled some of its 2013 line-up on its Facebook (via ComingSoon.net) and, unsurprisingly, there's plenty of "Iron Man 3" stuff in there. There are two Iron Man busts, one of which can be seen above, as well as a set of Tony Stark's lab and some mini-Iron Man suits.

Falcon

Anthony Mackie has offered up some new details about the role he has in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Though we know he'll be playing the part of The Falcon, he's elaborated about what that will mean in a new interview.

"I will have wings. I will be able to fly. I will be a superhero and fight people, namely The Winter Soldier," Mackie told Ain't It Cool News.

Since he fears that he'll get replaced if he talks about the movie too much, Mackie wouldn't confirm whether or not his character would have The Falcon's pet falcon Redwing in "The Winter Soldier." "This is what I learned about franchises. They can always cast somebody else and say, 'Well that last person died,' or just not address it," he said. "You see the second movie, and the guy is a different guy than the first, and they're like, 'Yep, same dude to me.'"

Amazon

The casting hunt for for Wonder Woman in the upcoming CW TV show "Amazon" is still underway, but don't expect that character to interfere with the one needed in Warner Bros.' upcoming "Justice League" film. CW President Mark Pedowitz has now come out and said that there will be no conflict for the two forthcoming projects.

“We worked carefully with Warner Bros. to make sure Warner Bros. theatrical was onboard so we were able to get it done," he told IGN. "You want to work carefully with your studio to make sure that it works and that it doesn’t interfere with their projects.”

Guardians of the Galaxy

"Guardians of the Galaxy might not have a cast yet, but it does have a filming location. The upcoming Marvel Studios film is slated to shoot at Shepperton Studios in the UK.

Screen Daily has the location news, and has learned that the movie is slated to start filming over the summer. That means that all those casting rumors we've heard about in recent weeks will likely come to a head in the next few months.

Goldie and Wendy are back in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," but don't expect actress Jaime King to have any secrets from set to share. Though she's already completed her part on the upcoming movie, King shot her scenes before any of her costars had been cast.

"I was the first one to shoot on the very first day. I was like, 'So who else is going to be in the movie with me because I'm acting to five pieces of tape?' And they're like, 'Oh, they haven't been cast yet,'" King told MTV News. "Literally, five pieces of tape and someone's hand. They're like, 'This is the other actor."

Powers

It's true that FX has not given up on "Powers." Though the original pilot that was developed has been cast aside, FX head John Landgraf said the network is trying again to bring the graphic novel to the small screen.

"No, still alive," Landgraf told IGN. "We’ve been through so many incarnations. After we made the pilot, we actually developed three more [episode] scripts. So then we had a pilot plus three scripts, and we decided between the pilot and the scripts that it wasn’t quite the series that we needed it to be."

S.H.I.E.L.D.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to learn that ABC is fast-tracking the production on "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" pilot. Joss Whedon is already shooting the episode, and ABC entertainment president Paul Lee admitted at the TCA's winter press tour that the network is hoping to have the pilot ready to review soon.

“Joss is very engaged and already working on scripts," Lee said via TV Line, calling the series "very Joss."

The upcoming "300" film, "300: Rise of an Empire," is due out in eight months, and star Rodrigo Santoro says fans have a lot to look forward to. During a conversation with MTV News while promoting "The Last Stand," Santoro teased how "Rise of an Empire" will work alongside "300."

"They're calling it a spinoff. They don't call it a prequel or spinoff. It has bits of backstory and then you jump forward. There's bits of everything," he said. "Zack Snyder, who directed the first one, is producing and wrote this one. There's a new director, but I think that he had a pretty cool vision. They're still following the same patterns and the same language that was used in the first one."

TDKR

Need a quick refresher on "The Dark Knight" trilogy? Well, you're in luck, because a three-minute video synopsis of the series has been released that does a pretty great job summarizing Christopher Nolan's entire story.

We have the kind folks at Screen Rant to thank for this fantastic effort. There aren't really any major plot points missing in this three-minute summarization, and there actually could be fewer plot holes here than there were in "The Dark Knight Rises" -- but hey, who's counting? Our only regret is that only shot of Maggie Gyllenhaal is a quick one right as she dies. RIP, Rachel Dawes.

Check out the video after the jump!
