Megan Fox is no stranger to comic book rumors, with reported connections ranging from Catwoman to Red Sonja. One comic book film that she is attached to — aside from the forthcoming "Jonah Hex," of course — is "Fathom," based on the Aspen Comics series created by the late Michael Turner.

Speaking with MTV News, Fox confirmed that "Fathom" is still in the works and will eventually get made — even if that means someone else has to take on the lead role of Aspen Matthews.

"That's going to happen even if I have to step away from it and give it to someone else," she told MTV. "That movie will happen, just because I love it and it needs to happen." Read More...

SoulfireEven though the Megan Fox-starring "Fathom" is currently Aspen MLT's highest-profile comic book adaptation, it's certainly not the only leap from paneled page to film reel that the comic publisher has in the works.

Aspen president Frank Mastromauro spoke with Comics Continuum at this past weekend's Baltimore Comic-Con and offered updates on some of the publisher's non-"Fathom" properties.

Specifically, Mastromauro said there is plenty of movement on "Soulfire," a comic book that focuses on a world where magic once thrived but has since gone extinct. Read More...

Uber-hottie Megan Fox is all over the comic book scene lately, with roles in "Jonah Hex," a comic book based on her upcoming movie "Jennifer's Body," and a potential starring role in "Fathom," a live-action film based on the Aspen MLT series.

Fox has repeatedly professed her love for both the series and the work of its creator, recently deceased writer/artist Michael Turner, so when we had a chance to sit down with Fox during our "Behind the Screen" movie special, we had to ask her about the status of the project.

"They wrote the script and I think the studio is making notes on the script now," Fox told MTV News. Read More...

It's been far too long since Megan Fox appeared on the site here (five whole days!), so it's about time we heard from the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Jonah Hex" actress. During a recent press event for her upcoming horror film "Jennifer's Body," Fox offered an update on the other comic book movie she's attached to star in: an adaptation of Michael Turner's "Fathom" series.

"They just wrote the first draft of the script, and everybody's really happy with it," Fox told MTV News. "I haven't read it yet, but the studio's really happy with it and there's growing excitement around the project." Read More...

Megan FoxMegan Fox has earned herself a good chunk of geek cred with starring roles in both "Transformers" films, but she's just now starting to cross over into the land of comic book cinema. The 22-year-old actress claims to have been a lifelong comic reader with a penchant for the late Michael Turner's artwork -- which is why her upcoming turn as the lead character in "Fathom" is nothing short of a dream come true.

"['Fathom' is] a comic book property by my favorite artist, Michael Turner," Fox told USA Weekend during a photo shoot with herself and soon-to-be "Green Hornet" star Seth Rogen. "It's about this underwater race of people, and it's plausible, really, because so much of the ocean is unexplored. We don't really know what's under there. It could be happening, which I like." Megan FoxBy Mel Caylo

Earlier this month, news broke that "Transformers" star Megan Fox was attached to star in a live-action adaptation of the "Fathom" comic book series published by Aspen MLT. "Fathom" tells the story of a beautiful marine biologist and former Olympic swimmer named Aspen Matthews who discovers she’s a member of a race of aquatic humanoids.

In an interview with Wizard Universe, Aspen president and "Fathom" Executive Producer Frank Mastromauro explained why Megan Fox was the right choice for the role in the Fox Atomic film.

“She knows so much about 'Fathom,' which is spectacular," said Mastromauro. "Growing up, she was a huge fan of the book and a huge fan of [late 'Fathom' creator] Michael [Turner]. When we met her, she was already well versed in ['Fathom'] volume one and [was] asking us questions about the book." Read More...
