While this week ended on a somber note with the deaths of both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, there were a few positive notes in this week's headlines.

But that doesn't mean everything was rosy on the comic book movie front, though.

- In our top story of the week, Christian Bale expressed some doubt about the likelihood of seeing another Batman movie, depressing legions of Bat-fans everywhere.

- Even though other movie media outlets keep proclaiming that there's no interest in another "Unbreakable" movie, M. Night Shyamalan's comments regarding his interest in a sequel generated a lot of interest from readers, too -- to the tune of our second most popular story of the week!

- Licensing Expo kicked off this week, and we got the first look at bunches of new logos and promotional material for the upcoming Marvel Studios movies, as well "Scott Pilgrim" and "Spider-Man 4"!

- Heath Ledger's win in the "Best Villain" category of the MTV Movie Awards was the lone bright spot in an awards show that saw bunches of comic book movies nominated, but only Ledger's performance taking home a Golden Popcorn. Read More...

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards are looming large, and you can catch them this Sunday at 9 PM EST. They'll be filled with all sorts of exclusive trailers, movie clips and appearances by the creators we just can't seem to go a day without mentioning here on Splash Page. (Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds will be presenting an award, for example.) This year, there's also an unprecedented number of comic book movies nominated for awards -- so there's a lot to like about the show.

However, there's also a lot to like about this week's top posts! (I know, that was a horrible segue, but it gets us there.) Let's see how the week looked:
