He made his break with the acclaimed, Kirby-influenced book "The Myth of 8-Opus," and now we're pleased as punch to welcome Thomas Scioli as a Splash Page cover artist (aka the art that graces the top of this blog).
Scioli's current project -- the Eisner-nominated "Gødland" -- teams him with writer Joe Casey; issue #25 is on stands now with a fourth collected trade having been released last month. You can also pick up his creator-owned "8-Opus" in the form of three new graphic novels, now being re-released by A-Okay Comics.

A hearty welcome to artist Steve Lieber, who joins us as the very first contributor to the Splash Page "Cover Artist" gallery, an ongoing series of originally-created art that will grace every page of the blog (everything you see on the top and sides). In the coming weeks you'll see illustrations appearing on the site from some of the coolest names in comics, including Jim Mahfood, Cully Hamner, Renee French, Skottie Young and many, many others.
Steve Lieber spans the breadth of the industry, from small press to mainstream, having performed art duties on such books as "Civil War: Frontline," "Detective Comics," and "Road to Perdition 2." But he is perhaps best known as the artist behind the Eisner Award-winning series "Whiteout" with writer Greg Rucka, the murder-mystery-in-Antactica that’s a soon-to-be motion picture starring Kate Beckinsale hitting theaters in 2009. The pair are currently working on "Whiteout: Night," a third entry to the franchise.
