Tune in to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Obviously there are many things to be excited about as we inch closer and closer to the release date of "The Dark Knight Rises," chief among them for me, is seeing a cast of the highest quality assembled in order to bring beloved characters, old and new, to life. And while a lot of attention is paid to the high profile roles that Batman newcomers Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard are playing, I'm always intrigued about what Christopher Nolan's equally impressive returning cast will be up to.

Take Nestor Carbonell's Mayor Anthony Garcia, for example, who when asked recently about how much action he gets in Christopher Nolan's third and likely final "Batman" flick, said it's hard for him to say, specifically, but we'll be happy with the film regardless.

"I finished [filming] about a month ago in Pittsburgh. It was a lot of fun, it's nice to go back to Chris Nolan's world," he told MTV News at the CW Premiere Party Saturday, adding that there is a sense of finality to Nolan's third film.

You think you know everything about Marion Cotillard's character in "The Dark Knight Rises"? To riff on a familiar phrase around these parts, you have no idea — maybe, that is.

MTV News caught up with the Oscar winning actress at the New York City premiere of her new movie "Contagion" last night, and we had to ask her about her work on Christopher Nolan's latest Batman movie. Some potential spoilers lie ahead, so proceed with caution…

The Dark Knight RisesIt's Thursday, only one more day left in the week, and you know what that means: another "Dark Knight Rises" set photo to fawn over!

New shots from the Los Angeles set of Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman flick have hit the 'net, and though there's not a Bat or Cat in sight, there is a Bruce and a Selina.

Today's batch of photos focus firmly on Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway's non-costumed counter-parts, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle respectively, as they stroll around in broad daylight.

The Dark Knight RisesIf you thought Gotham City had rounded up all of its residents, think again.

The Caped Crusader's great city is getting infused with a little bit of Miami heat, as Deadline reports that "CSI: Miami" co-star Adam Rodriguez has signed on to join the cast of Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises." There's no word on exactly who Rodriguez is playing, but his role is considered to be a small one.

FROM MTV MOVIES: "Man of Steel" star Michael Shannon has moved from absurdity to anxiety.

When the Oscar-nominated actor was cast as General Zod back in April, he confessed he found the entire thing "ridiculous." Now that he's on set and in character, Shannon has moved on but is not exactly feeling comfortable yet.

"I'm nervous," he told MTV News while promoting his upcoming drama, "Take Shelter." "I'm still getting my foot into the pool. I just started working on it."

FROM MTV MULTIPLAYER: One of the many lovely aspects of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" was just how much there was to keep you occupied beyond the main story. The Riddler's trophies, hidden character clues and those crazy shadow puzzles made for some interesting brain teasers without requiring actual brawn. We've already learned that "Batman: Arkham City" will offer up even more of those puzzles and extras, but that's not the whole story. When you complete "Arkham City," you'll also unlock a New Game Plus mode, which Rocksteady has now detailed.

Julie NewmarCatwoman's making a comeback in "The Dark Knight Rises," though not everybody is fully on board with Anne Hathaway's take on the classic Batman rogue just yet.

Admittedly, we've barely seen anything so far — just one official Catwoman still, some thoughts from Hathaway on the costume and some photos from the set — so it goes to show how quickly some of us have jumped to conclusions about this still developing movie.

Indeed, while most fans have learned to trust in Christopher Nolan's vision, there still seems to be a lot of pressure on "Dark Knight" newcomers like Hathaway… so it should come as little surprise that a previous Catwoman has spoken out about the difficulties of tackling such an iconic character.

Anne Hathaway's first appearance as Catwoman may not have impressed everybody, but make no mistake about it: the occasional Selina Kyle can kick your butt and still have time to eat a snack.

Despite the production's shift from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles, there are still numerous "Dark Knight Rises" set photos to pour over, albeit somewhat less spoilery than the ones we've seen previously. Today's installment of What's Up With The Bat? involves Hathaway on the "Dark Knight" set fighting crime with something delicious.

SupermanFROM MTV MOVIES: "Man of Steel" is taking a decidedly different turn from previous Superman films. Lois Lane is a redhead. Laurence Fishburne is playing the first non-white Perry White. And those red underpants are long gone.

Based on the latest set photos that have hit the Web, Superman's suit has gotten a serious update as well. The first image of Henry Cavill as Superman was released earlier this summer, but his position in the shot made it hard to get a complete look at the suit. These new stills offer the first up-close, full-body looks at the outfit in Zack Snyder's Superman movie, and the response to the new look has been positive so far.

SuperHeroHype compiled the photos, which show Cavill walking around on the set in between takes. The suit has a lot more texture than Superman's outfits in previous films, and also has added new accents, including silvery lines that wrap around the torso, and go up the back and down the legs.

The Dark Knight RisesListen, we love Tom Hardy – the guy’s great in “Inception,” utterly menacing in “Bronson” and we’re really looking forward to “Warrior.” But being completely honest, we were somewhat taken aback when the average-sized British actor was cast as the hulking, monstrous Bat-villain Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Now, Hardy has responded to some of those concerns.

In an interview with CineMovie, Hardy talked about nerds like us who want a Bane that can benchpress a Buick, but pointed out that it’s just not possible to meet fan expectations for pre-existing characters.

“So many people love him,” Hardy explained. “And when you step into that role – you are going to fail. And be judged.”
