Tune in to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Listen Chloe Moretz, we need to talk. The game is up, and we want a straight answer.

For about a month now, you've been dropping hints, winking and teasing about some "Kick-Ass 2" news. At the Scream Awards, you said something big was coming soon. But then nothing.

Now, during the junket for "Hugo," when MTV News' Josh Horowitz asked whether the sequel to the 2010 superhero flick was going to happen, you got real quiet.

The last we heard, Colin Firth had been approached to play Adrian, the villain in Spike Lee's upcoming "Oldboy" adaptation.

When MTV News sat down with the Academy Award-winning actor for his new film, "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," Firth remained more or less mum about potentially taking part in the revenge thriller.

"I've heard the rumors, as you have," Firth said. "I'm thinking about it, yeah."

The last we heard about a sequel to this past summer's well-received "X-Men: First Class," Simon Kinberg had been hired to pen the follow-up. Now, one of the stars of the film, Michael Fassbender, has shared his feelings on a potential sequel with MTV News.

When asked about whether he saw Magneto, nee Erik Lehnsherr, as a true bad guy after the first one's finale, he said he wasn't so sure. "I don't think he's a bad guy. I think he's all right, isn't he?" he said. "Human beings having been doing some bad sh-- to him."

"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" is going to have a lot of death, a lot of violence, and a lot of swearing. So how did directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor manage to keep the rating a friendly PG-13? Because, fortunately, their titular antihero uses fire to kill people.

"We figured out all the tricks. You can kill a lot of people by burning them up and turning them into ash. That's what you can do," Neveldine explained. Taylor added, "Fire is your friend for the MPAA."

In all actuality, the directing duo say the movie is more of a PG-16, but fans looking for harder action won't be disappointed in the upcoming "Ghost Rider" sequel.

Rhys Ifans did more than show off his Lizard voice when he stopped by MTV News the other week to talk about "Anonymous."

The actor explained that he's a big fan of his "The Amazing Spider-Man" villain The Lizard because of his complexity. Unlike other villains that serve as foils to their superhero counterparts, Ifans has said that he think he and Spider-Man have a "moral" bond, and shared this time around why he thinks Connors is such a special character.

"The majority of comic book villains are pure evil, but Curt Connors is an exception," he explained. "Curt Connors is a good man who initially wants to save the world but he gets hungry and greedy and reckless and he pays the price for that."

Wolverine

As a fan, following the production of "The Wolverine," the follow-up to 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," has been a series of highs and lows. You cheered when Darren Aronofsky signed on as director, promising a much more serious take on Hugh Jackman's character, and despaired when he left the project, saying he couldn't spend so much time out of country. When James Mangold ("Walk the Line," "3:10 to Yuma") replaced Aronofsky this summer, it was unclear what direction the project would move in after a change in the director's seat. Would it be the same darker, weightier version of Wolverine that fans knew from comics and expected from Aronofsky? How much of that film would remain?

MTV News briefly spoke with Mangold about "The Wolverine" during an interview about the Blu-ray edition of "Cop Land," and the director enthusiastically shared his experience working on the film so far with Jackman on a Wolverine that's "more intense than we've ever seen him."

It's hard to imagine "Thor" without Chris Hemsworth playing the titular character, but had things gone a little differently during the casting process, it could have as easily been baddie Tom Hiddleston carrying Mjölnir. Apparently the man better known as Loki had originally auditioned for the role of Thor in the film, but ended up being cast as the villain instead.

MTV News caught up with Hiddleston recently and asked him whether he had always been up for both of the roles. He said that he had, and admitted that he didn't know which character he would end up playing until the final audition.

X-Men

"X-Men Anime" debuts on G4 tonight (October 21) at 11 PM ET, starring the voice of "Friday Night Lights" actor Scott Porter as Cyclops. When the series premieres, viewers will find the X-Men field leader at his lowest of lows: his wife, Jean Grey, has died following the events of the "Dark Phoenix Saga," and poor Scott is questioning his reasons for continuing on. But when an international incident arises with the potential to finally bridge mutants and humans together or fully tear them apart, Cyclops has to look in the mirror and realize the kind of man he wants to be.

Ahead of the series premiere, MTV News spoke with Porter, a longtime comic book reader, about "X-Men Anime," his views on Cyclops, his thoughts on what makes the perfect X-Men roster and much more.

It has to be fun to play a comic book hero in a movie. Neal McDonough tends to agree. We recently spoke with McDonough about his role as Dum Dum Dugan in "Captain America: The First Avenger," and he told us he enjoyed it so much that he wants to do it again.

"I can't wait to do 'Cap 2,'" McDonough says.

This is some of the first concrete talk about a cast for "Captain America 2," which is currently being written by the first movie's scribes, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The two have talked conceptually about the script and whether the next film would be in the past or present, but no official word has been given.

As we saw in the most recent Marvel One-Shot, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer," Agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) has had some moves he's been hiding. With the great superhero meet-up that will be "The Avengers" imminent and promises of Nick Fury finally getting some action, you have to wonder when Coulson's going to get his big break out.

We asked Gregg at New York Comic-Con what we would see from Agent Coulson in "The Avengers" after spending so many films on the sideline, but he wasn't so keen to talk. Apparently, his life depends on keeping secrets.

"There is so little I can say without either Marvel or Nick Fury choking me to death in my sleep," Gregg said.
