EXCLUSIVE: 'A-Team' Director Joe Carnahan Was In Talks For 'The Avengers,' Favored Hulk As Villain

Following the critical success of “Narc” and “Smokin' Aces,” director Joe Carnahan is hoping for a commercial hit with his latest film “The A-Team,” a big-screen adaptation of the 1980s television series of the same name. But during a recent interview with MTV News, Carnahan revealed that he spoke to the folks who are working on another highly-anticipated adaptation – namely, the epic Marvel team-up film “The Avengers.”

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios previously announced that “Firefly” and “Buffy” creator Joss Whedon would be helming the film, which is currently scheduled for release in 2012. We've been all-hands-on-deck here in Universal City, CA, where on Sunday we'll be bringing you the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. But even in all this excitement we still found time to gawk at an exclusive clip from "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" that will be airing during our live Movie Awards red carpet pre-show this Sunday at 8/7c. Director Edgar Wright is excited too, as you'll see below while catching a brief glimpse of Sunday's clip which features Michael Cera battling it out with an evil ex-boyfriend.

Exclusive 'Scott Pilgrim' And 'The Last Airbender' Clips To Air During MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show!

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The WorldThe 2010 MTV Movie Awards kick off this Sunday, June 6, at 9 PM EST — but you should tune in an hour early if you want to catch some new footage from "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" and "The Last Airbender."

Yes, you heard it here first, folks: MTV will bring you some exclusive, new footage from the two upcoming films by directors Edgar Wright and M. Night Shyamalan during the Movie Awards Pre-Show, which begins at 8 PM EST.

If you've been following along at home, you know that Wright's "Pilgrim" movie is based on the celebrated Oni Press series by Bryan Lee O'Malley, and stars Michael Cera as a slacker musician who must battle his new girlfriend's seven evil-exes to win her heart.

Shyamalan's "Airbender" is a live-action take on the wildly popular Nickelodeon animated series, and follows a hero's quest to save the world from warring tribes that wield the elements in a battle for supremacy.

Remember: Tune in at 8 PM EST for exclusive sneak peeks at "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" and "The Last Airbender" on MTV!
