We first wrote about Agent Coulson's Hot Toys figure way back in November. The figure boasts the type of intricate and impressive detail we've come to expect from the deluxe toy company, and seen in their renditions of the Hulk, Wolverine, Catwoman, Black Widow and others.

Now fans will soon be able to get their hands on the lifelike Coulson figure... just like actor Clark Gregg did a few days ago. The man who brought Coulson to life, and death, and life again came face to face with his 1/6th scale twin! And judging by the look on his face in these photos, he was pretty taken with the little guy.

Check out the pics, courtesy of Marvel.com, after the jump!

300 Rise of an Empire

FROM MTV NEWS

Following the debut of "300: Rise of an Empire's" first trailer, MTV News got director Noam Murro on the phone to discuss his visually striking follow-up to Zack Snyder's groundbreaking original film. The director desired to expand upon the first film's visual vocabulary, which was a desire shared by producer Zack Snyder and the studio.

"I think that was the great thing about working with Zack and working with the studio. The idea was always to create a point of reference of the old movie, but technologically and visually push it further up the hill," he said. "It really is quite a difference in the way that it feels and looks. It does happen in water, and geographically, it is open. I think we've pushed it from a visual spectacle uphill, but the roots of this tree are grounded in the '300' world. We wanted to create different styles of battles, and there are very distinct ones in this movie. There's the fire battle and the fog battle."

Dominic Cooper

by Brett white

Howard Stark, father of Tony, played a pivotal role in "Captain America: The First Avenger." The charismatic scientist worked on the Super Soldier program that gave Steve Rogers his power and he built Cap's shield. With so many ties to the character, it makes sense that Dominic Cooper would return as Stark in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

That is, of course, until you remember that the sequel has moved from the 1940s to the present day. So exactly how does Howard Stark, a character without the superhuman power of longevity, factor into Steve Rogers' current life? Cooper revealed to UK TV show "This Morning" that not even he's sure.

"I went off and shot something, but I can't even work out how my character can be in it," says Cooper. "Wouldn't I be dead? But anything is possible. They are quite secretive about where they are going to go with the characters and how it will slot in, you have no idea. So you turn up, put your costume on and do as you are told."

Superman

by Brett White

No one blinks an eye when Batman gets a PG-13, and fans would probably prefer "The Wolverine" be a hard R. But these are heroes that lurk in the shadows, who dole out justice and vengeance with a grimace. But Superman, as many comic book pros and fans have pointed out since learning "Man of Steel's" MPAA rating, should be different.

"I don't know if that PG-13 is there out of sincerity or cynicism or politics," wrote acclaimed comic book writer Greg Rucka in an op-ed piece for The Hollywood Reporter. "I just know that if you make a Superman movie you can't take kids to, you've done something wrong." To get an idea of where Superman's many, many fans fall in what we've sensationally dubbed The Great Ratings Debate, MTV asked a group of comics pros, journalists and fans for their take in this exclusive article.

"I'm all for Superman being viewable and readable by even the youngest audience, even if the stories are a bit complex for them," said Jeff Parker, one of the current writers for DC Comics' digital anthology series "Adventures of Superman."

In fact, iFanboy writer Paul Montgomery cited Parker's debut issue of "Adventures of Superman" as an example of the right way to add grit to Superman, saying that "Jeff Parker and Chris Samnee proved that even a manic junkie can coexist with Superman without robbing the story of warmth and gentility."

Mark Waid, the writer behind "Superman: Birthright" and one of the foremost authorities on the Superman mythology, remained optimistic despite the rating. "So long as Superman himself remains a paragon of ethical and moral behavior, I'm not too worried," said Waid.

You can check out the entire piece, including extended quotes and additional points of view, over at MTV News!

Despite losing director Zack Snyder, "300: Rise of an Empire" director Noam Murro looks to have turned in a film that matches the original's unique look, striking visuals, and penchant for slow-motion and ultra-revealing Spartan garb. People who wanted to see more "300" will indeed see more "300"! The film follows the 2007 adaptation of Dark Horse Comics' "300" by Frank Miller. Check out the trailer below.

The film stars returning actors Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro, as well as new leading man Sullivan Stapleton, and Eva Green. It looks like the film takes place concurrently with the first one, focusing on the Battle of Artemisium instead of the Battle of Thermopylae, which was the focus of the first film. The Battle of Artemisium was comprised of naval battles, hence the trailer's abundance of ships ramming into each other and bloody bodies falling into the ocean.

Yes, a lot of Wikipedia research went into this post.

Superman returns

FROM MTV GEEK

"Man of Steel" isn't the first Superman film of the new millennium despite how it seems based on the media storm currently engulfing the film. A little film called "Superman Returns" hit theaters in 2006, made $391M at the box office, scored a 76% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes (only 2% lower than "Iron Man 3") and was then... deemed a failure? That's pretty much what happened, according to Brandon Routh in a new interview with MTV Geek.

"After the movie came out, yeah. It was well reviewed and well-liked, and about a year after it, they started to be down on it... It is unfortunate that people have to preface things with, 'I don't care what anyone else says, but I like the movie.'" They should just be able to be proud and happy that they liked 'Superman Returns.'"

The interview is a great read, complete with Routh's thoughts on new Superman Henry Cavill and "Superman Returns'" legacy. Head on over to MTV Geek for the complete interview!

The first TV spot for "The Wolverine" has hit in the UK, and it features a few new seconds of footage as well as different cuts of scenes previously seen in the film's trailers. It does a nice job of boiling down the film's central premise (Wolverine wants to die and stuff!) and introduces us to the film's large cast of characters (Shingen, Yukio, Silver Samurai, Viper, etc.).

The clip may be only 30 seconds long, but that's enough time for us to hear Svetlana Khodchenkova's Viper speak for the first time (and her line and delivery are pretty venomous), and for us to get a new, sure-to-be classic one-liner from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I'm still pretty excited for this movie, everybody.

Cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer is turning out to be to "Captain America: The Winter Solider" as Marc Webb's frequently ulpdated Twitter feed is to "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." The newspaper has daily updates on the film's shooting schedule that give us non-Clevelanders a taste of what it's like to be right next to Chris Evans and company.

We previously reported on the site's extensive coverage of an outdoors action scene, and today they've liveblogged a very different type of scene. I can firmly come down on the side of SPOILER with this news update, and it's one that has your trusty editor flipping out (in this scenario, I am your trust editor).
