Iron Man 3 clip

by Brett White

The first full clip from "Iron Man 3" has arrived, courtesy of Yahoo! Screen. The clip features an impromptu press conference given by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), where he challenges the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) to a face-to-face confrontation. "There's no politics here," Stark exclaims, "just good old-fashioned revenge." But revenge... for what?

TV trailers for "Iron Man 3" have been coming fast and furious lately, but this fourth spot contains a lot of new footage and, more importantly, a lot more Mandarin voice. This trailer has much more of an action movie tone, with explosions taking up almost as much screen time as Iron Man himself. The spot also shows off Mandarin's ring collection and dope sunglasses (still waiting for a tie-in line of Ray-Bans). Guy Pearce's Aldrich Killian even gets a line! Check out the full trailer below.

Iron Man 3 cake

by Brett White

Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr., celebrated his 47th birthday while he was in South Korea kicking off the "Iron Man 3" promotional tour. And when you're Iron Man, you get an Iron Man cake. Them's the rules! The cake itself is way more impressive than the "Iron Man 3" sheet cake found in your local grocery store. This one's so detailed, it's probably capable of taking off into orbit.

To see Robert Downey Jr.'s elaborate birthday cake in its full glory, check out the picture below. Also take a gander at some of the publicity shots from Robert Downey Jr.'s appearance in South Korea, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Publicity.

UPDATE: This post now contains 100% more Robert Downey Jr. dancing to "Gangnam Style," thanks to Comic Book Movie.

Man of Steel statues

by Brett White

So far all of the photos released from "Man Of Steel" have been pretty uneventful, mostly depicting the cast and crew behind the scenes. We've yet to get a clear shot of Michael Shannon as General Zod or Antje Traue as Faora, but these images from "Previews" are the next best thing. These "Man of Steel" statues show the two Kryptonian opponents all armored up and ready to fight.

The General Zod statue differs from his action figure; we assume the action figure duds are hiding out underneath all that bulk. The Faora statue matches up with her action figure well, just with a much higher level of detail. Also shown are statues for Superman and Jor-El, two guys that we've already seen a bit of thanks to the trailers and action figures.

Check out the full scans below.

The new Marvel Cinematic Universe box set is the gift that keeps on giving. In addition to everything else it's given us this week, now we find out that there is even more deleted footage from "Marvel's the Avengers." Like, a lot more. The footage on the box set easily doubles the previously released deleted footage. Most of it comes from the film's intense final act; losing all of these vignettes and subplots really helped that last battle zip by. It's totally understandable that all of this stuff was lost, even if it does shed some light on the Chitauri's plan.

Check out all of the new scenes below.

The Walking Dead

by Brett White

It appears as though every cast member lucky enough to survive "Welcome to the Tombs" has been rewarded with series regular status. Sunday's third season finale drew an audience of 12.4 million people, making it the most watched show of the night and last week. These new cast members will have a lot more eyeballs on them a lot more regularly when "The Walking Dead" comes back this October. Of course this news means that these characters did not get zombified in the season finale, so you may want to steer clear of it if you haven't caught up with the AMC hit.

Emma Frost

by Brett White

January Jones told Collider that the diamond-skinned mutant Emma Frost won't be seen in 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past." After landing one of the more prominent roles in the fairly crowded "X-Men: First Class" (at least what was considered crowded before "Days of Future Past" turned into a mutant clown car), Jones has learned that Frost and Magneto have parted ways in the time lapsed between films.

"I haven’t been asked back," she told Collider. "It’s called 'Days of Future Past' or something. No, they’re going into another time period, or they’re going back and forth from different time period and Emma’s not in that. Not in what they’re doing." At least, despite her hesitation, Jones did get the title of the film right.

Fantastic Four

by Brett White

According to a tweet, director Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot is set to begin filming in Vancouver this September. The tweet comes courtesy of @lemon_buzz (a.k.a. Lindsay), a Vancouver native who may or may not have the inside info on Marvel's First Family. The tweet simply states pre-production has started for a September shoot, followed by hashtags shouting out yvrshoots (a website dedicated to Vancouver film and television shoots) and @olv (a Twitter account dedicated to information about film and television shooting locations). Lindsay followed up her initial tweet, saying that "Fantastic Four" is "just starting to hire [their] crew now." If you're in Vancouver, be on the lookout. The full tweet can be seen below.
