Ramona Flowers in 'Scot Pilgrim'Last week, we got a peek at the look "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" director Edgar Wright is going for with The Clash At Demonhead, the band that includes both an evil ex-boyfriend of Ramona Flowers that Scott will battle, and the hero's own evil ex, Natalie V. "Envy" Adams. Now, it looks like Wright could actually be filming (or at least revealing production photos) in chronological order with the original Bryan Lee O'Malley series, as he just posted a photo from a scene at the finale of Scott and Ramona's encounter with the band.

The photo offers a glimpse of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, who "Scott Pilgrim" readers will identify by her trademark "subspace suitcase" and the massive "+2 Against Girls" hammer she pulls from it to fight Envy. The brawl takes place in Volume 3 of O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim" series, and I've posted both Wright's photo and a page from the book after the jump for the sake of comparison. Read More...

The Leading ManThe world's greatest actor may soon become the world's greatest spy -- at least if writer B. Clay Moore and artist Jeremy Haun have their way. Oni Press' "The Leading Man" is currently in the pipeline at Universal, and while there's still plenty that needs to happen before the cameras roll, given Oni's relative Hollywood renaissance of late with Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" and Greg Rucka's "Whiteout," the odds for adaptation could look a whole lot worse -- especially considering how quickly Moore's "Billy Smoke" is currently climbing the ranks in Tinsel Town.

"Universal renewed ['The Leading Man'] option last year, and there is talent being recruited as we speak," Moore told MTV News. "Universal has kept a lid on some of the details, but things look promising as of now. Obviously, you never know how things are going to pan out, but the process is at least headed forward." 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World'Thus far, production of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has been incredibly well documented with behind-the-scenes photos that blend elements of reality and illustration. But as enjoyably creative as the obscured images are, fans are starting to jones for a better look at the project.

Seems that director Edgar Wright got the memo, as he posted three new pictures from the upcoming Oni Press adaptation on his website yesterday. The photos reveal our first clear look at Scott's musical rivals, the deadly Clash at Demonhead, as merchandising for their newest album hits record stores in the film. Read More...

Billy SmokeDespite moviegoers' comic book cravings, successful film adaptations are never a sure thing. So much can happen between pitch and production that creators tend to keep their cool until a project actually begins filming.

MTV News spoke with B. Clay Moore, writer of Oni Press' upcoming "Billy Smoke," about how the attachment of director Jeffrey Nachmanoff ("Traitor") and "Lost" star Matthew Fox affect his assassin's redemption tale. After all, he and artist Eric Kim still have a comic to release.

"We're aiming to release the book next April," Moore told MTV News, "We've kind of circled the [Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo] as the place we'd like to debut the book." Read More...

'Billy Smoke'When "Lost" ends, Matthew Fox will be dealing with an entirely different "Smoke" monster -- and a new director, too.

During last summer's San Diego Comic Con, word broke that the actor will headline a movie version of "Billy Smoke," based on the comic book from Oni Press. News on the adaptation has been completely quiet since then, but doubters were quieted with today's Hollywood Reporter announcement that Jeffrey Nachmanoff has signed on to direct "Billy Smoke" for Warner Bros. 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World'Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" has assembled its cast, its band Sex Bob-Omb, and an intriguing website of updates, but Universal now appears to be courting possible partners for merchandising -- meaning awesome Scott Pilgrim toys could be on the way.

Universal's Products division will be vetting candidates for potential Scott Pilgrim "apparel and accessories, electronic accessories, collectible figures, novelty, stationery and social expressions," according to License Magazine. Whether those "collectible figures" exclusively take on realistic actor-likenesses for the film's characters will remain to be seen, but there is plenty of potential for some bombastic toys in the comics series' books. 'Scott Pilgrim'As production continues with "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World," director Edgar Wright continues to keep fans posted with photo updates on his personal website, and now on a new website for the film that launched this weekend.

In the first post on the brand new "Scott Pilgrim" website, Wright offers up a video journal that addresses -- among other topics -- the physical side of making the film. While fans are treated to shots of the cast and crew training, there's also a glimpse of Michael Cera and quite a bit of actor Chris Evans, who plays skater-turned-actor Lucas Lee -- including a shot of Evans showing off one of his production battle scars. (Check out the full video after the jump.) Read More...

Mark WebberIf there's one thing the characters in Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim" series like to do, it's rock out -- so it makes heaps of sense that director Edgar Wright would want his cast members well-versed in the appropriate skills. As we learned recently, they'll be recording with Radiohead and Beck producer Nigel Godrich, and in addition to growing his hair out, "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" actor Mark Webber told MTV News the cast has been getting some training from a few other outside sources.

"You're going to really see me jamming out," Webber told MTV News. In the film, the "Broken Flowers" and "Whiteboyz" star will be playing the role of frontman in lead character Scott Pilgrim's band, "Sex Bob-Omb." Read More...

'Scott Pilgrim'"Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" director Edgar Wright continues to be the best source of visual updates from the set of his much-anticipated adaptation of the Bryan Lee O'Malley series. A few weeks back, we got our first look at the assembled members of Sex Bob-Omb, Scott Pilgrim's band, and now we have a few more music-themed shots from Wright's website to whet fans' appetites for the film.

Among the recent shots worth a call-out here is a picture that looks to be pulled directly from the comic, featuring the band relaxing in a bedroom (possibly the bedroom of Mark Webber's character, Stephen Stills), as well as a nice shot of the Sex Bob-Omb logo and their "Lame Brand" instruments. There's also a semi-blurry show of what looks to be Ellen Wong's character, Knives Chau, hanging out during a band practice session. Read More...
