Wolverine Poster

by Brett White

As if there wasn't already enough news about "The Wolverine" today, what with the metric ton of new images just dropped on us, two new posters for the fast-approaching mutant movie have been released. They both show star Hugh Jackman in similar fits of neck-vein-popping rage, which is quite fitting for this decidedly darker take on Wolverine after 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

We'll be getting out first look at footage from James Mangold's "The Wolverine" soon, but first comes a whole mess of new images and quotes to whet your appetite. The quotes come from Entertainment Weekly via Comic Book Movie, and feature director James Mangold touching on everything from Wolverine's supporting cast to his state of mind.

"He realizes everyone he loves dies, and his whole life is full of pain. So it's better that he just escapes. He can't die really. He just wants to get away from everything."

Spider-Man

People went ga-ga over Spider-Man's new costume, set to debut in "Amazing Spider-Man 2." The new costume is quite faithful to the source material, somehow managing to put the old super-accurate Sam Raimi-era costume to shame. But not so fast, new costume fans! The redesigned duds from the first film are apparently making at least a cameo in the new film.

Andrew Garfield's stunt double William Spencer has Tweeted a picture of him wearing the familiar costume on the set of "Amazing Spider-Man 2." Check out the picture below.

Now we have one more picture to add to our Ravencroft file: a close-up detail shot of a Ravencroft security guard, courtesy of Marc Webb's Twitter account.

Man of Steel

It turns out that Superman also stands for reading in addition to truth and justice. "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill can be seen posing with a copy of 2012's "Superman Annual" #1 on a poster for the American Library Association. A copy of the poster can be purchased on the organization's website, making it a perfect purchase for librarians and English teachers that are more than a little tired of "Hang In There Kitty" motivational posters.

Mandarin US Poster

by Brett White

A newly released Russian poster for "Iron Man 3" has done a reverse-"Thumbs & Ammo" with their depiction of Ben Kingsley's Mandarin. The poster swaps out Mandarin's relaxed right hand for one holding a hand gun ("Thumbs & Ammo" switches out gun-holding hands in iconic films for thumbs-up-giving hands).

You can check out the full poster below, and be sure to compare it to its American counterpart. It's worth noting that the Mandarin's American poster actually crops out Kingsley's right hand entirely, but a wider shot featured as a promotional image shows his empty right hand in full.

Kick-Ass header

by Brett White

You can't have a comic book movie without a couple of cameos from the creators. In fact, Stan Lee's probably the most bankable actor in the world if you consider his cameos in nearly every Marvel film. While "Kick-Ass 2" skewers a lot of super-tropes, this is one trope that it's proudly embracing. New photos from the set of the film's epic battle (glimpsed in the film's trailer) show Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., two of the men behind the "Kick-Ass" comics, ready to rumble. The photos constitute mild spoilers, if you want to be kept in the dark about each creators' "Kick-Ass" makeover.

Man of Steel 1

The citizens of the Internet are slowly piecing together the disparate bits from Total Film's extensive coverage of "Man of Steel." More quotes from director Zack Snyder have surfaced as well as a smorgasbord of new images. We've already reported on the issue's stellar cover, as well as bits from their interview with Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon. Let's continue the trend with some photos and, first, this quote from Zack Snyder, where he takes on the age old question: how do you make Superman relatable?

"It's amazing what [Superman] is capable of but [Henry's] a slightly more down to Earth version of the character... I don't think he can hold up a continent... Superman has been broken for a little while... He's a man, but he's a Man of Steel."
