Evan Peters Quicksilver

by Brett White

When director Bryan Singer revealed that Evan Peters had joined the cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as Quicksilver, even if Joss Whedon had called dibs on the hero for "Avengers: Age of Ultron," he revealed that he had an action sequence in mind that begged for the speedster's involvement. Judging by one of Singer's latest tweets, it looks like they've started shooting that action sequence. And oh yeah, it's fast.

Sentinel

by Brett White

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer has gotten active on Twitter again, bringing us a shot of Mystique in action yesterday and a fully revealed Sentinel today.

We previously caught glimpses of the Sentinels scattered throughout the Trask Industries viral website, but Singer has revealed one of the purple robots in all its glory—no filters or stylized lighting to get in the way! And it's big.

Check out the tweet and full pic below!

SHIELD

J. August Richards isn't the only Joss Whedon alum appearing on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." this fall.

Reports from the Comic-Con pilot screening revealed that — and I suppose this is the time to say SPOILER alert — one of Whedon's "Firefly" actors has a role to play in the small-screen take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, you can see that actor in action for yourself, thanks to several new photos released from the "S.H.I.E.L.D." pilot.

Dave Bautista

by Brett White

The cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy" is hard at work following their triumphant appearance at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago, and Dave Bautista's Twitter feed is quickly becoming the one to watch.

The wrestler-turned-actor keeps his hundreds of thousands of followers updated on his "Guardians" shooting schedule—at least as updated as he can while shooting a movie that's shrouded in secrecy. One of his most recent tweets, however, reveals what could be a plot point from Marvel's first space saga. The TwitPic shows Bautista engaged in some underwater training. Check out the whole tweet after the jump!

Mystique

by Brett White

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is still shooting up in Canada currently, despite the efforts of Trask Industries to put a stop to all things mutant-related. This past weekend, while the X-Man Wolverine's latest movie was unleashed on the public, director Bryan Singer apparently spent some time working with Jennifer Lawrence, who reprises her role as the Mystique of yesteryear. He tweeted:

After the jump, we have some photographic evidence of the shoot, featuring one of Mystique's violent limbs.

When actor Lucas Till was spotted near the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" set last month, we wondered if that meant a return for "X-Men: First Class" character Havok. Today, director Bryan Singer confirmed the actor and character's return with one tweet.

While it doesn't look like Havok will be teaming up with his former teammates (looks like he's in Vietnam), it is cool to know that another "First Class" actor has made it to the sequel. Till joins Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult as the only actors to return from the 2011 X-Movie.

But that's not the only big "Days of Future Past" news to hit this afternoon. Vulture has teased what could be a few of Fox's announcements regarding the film, which we'll reveal after the jump due to possible spoilers.

Spider-Man

by Brett White

To think we went months relying solely on TwitPics and unofficial photos to get us hyped up about "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly's new Comic-Con issue, we have more "ASM2" photos than we know what to do with! Actually, we know exactly what to do with them: write blog posts about them.

Three new images from EW have appeared thanks to ComingSoon.net, and they show off never-before-seen things like Peter Parker's bedroom (messy!) and the other side of Jamie Foxx's Electro-fied head (weird pager looking thing...?). The Electro image is especially revealing as it definitely adds one more point to our previous dissection of Electro's new look. Check out the new photos after the jump!

Agent Carter

by Brett White

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed what we've already known about the next Marvel One-Shot short film and then some. In addition to the One-Shot's name ("Agent Carter") and release date (packaged with the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray on September 24th), we now have stills from the short film and an absolutely awesome poster! Come on, this is fantastic.

EW confirms that the One-Shot will debut at Comic-Con next week, which was previously rumored to happen.

The short film follows Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell, reprising her role from "Captain America: The First Avenger") as she enlists with the proto-S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), and promises to be more action-packed than any previous One-Shot. "First of all it's a period piece," says Marvel Studios co-president Louis D'Esposito, who also directed previous Marvel One-Shot "Item 47." "You have three fight scenes as opposed to 'Item 47,' where we just had basically one action scene. We had five days – one more day than we did on 'Item 47' but I think it’s double in size."

Comic-Con is less than one week away, but you don't have to wait quite that long to get a new look at "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are on full display in new concept art from the "Captain America" sequel, premiered over at Entertainment Weekly, and illustrated by Ryan Meindering. The art depicts all-out war between the two old friends and other heavily-armed parties, including agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and some new high-tech opponents.

Spider-Man Electro

by Brett White

Yeah, director Marc Webb gave us plenty of TwitPics during "The Amazing Spider-Man 2's" New York filming, but we've been hungry for a real look at Spidey major new foe for months. Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con coverage, we have just that.

The "Amazing Spider-Man 2" cover (because yeah, there are a few different Comic-Con covers) shows off Jamie Foxx's finalized Electro makeup and even a little bit of his supervillain duds as well. You know what this means? It's time to unleash my geek instincts — appropriately called geekstincts — all over this cover. Let's dissect it!
