Dark Knight Rises

If you thought last week was an awesome week for "Dark Knight Rises" news, you haven't seen anything yet.

The six-minute prologue is set to premiere in front of select "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" IMAX showings this coming Friday — even sooner for those of you lucky enough to win one of those Operation Early Bird screenings — and ahead of that debut, we've got a brand new "Dark Knight Rises" poster to obsess over… and believe me, it's definitely obsession-worthy.

Check out the full "Dark Knight Rises" poster after the jump!

Had enough superhero movie-related news for the week yet? No? Good, because we've got one more for you before we head into the weekend. It looks like the folks over at Superhero Hype have gotten their hands on the first poster for Sony's upcoming, anticipated blockbuster, "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Contrary to the first teaser poster, which was unveiled over the summer at San Diego Comic-Con, this one features a full-length Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) perched on or descending down a stone wall. The strategic and sparse lighting is such that where Parker's two hands and feet are making contact with the wall, they cast long dark shadows beneath them, which form the perfect outline of a spider. It is super cool and only slightly creepy, which is a creative success for Sony in my mind. Curiously enough there is no titling on the poster, just the tagline "The Untold Story" at the bottom along with the July 3, 2012 release date.

Moore ("The Walking Dead" and "Fear Agent") has put his talents to good use in this EXCLUSIVE first look at his blood-soaked poster for "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil," the horror comedy carving its way into theaters at the end of the month and currently playing on Magnolia On-Demand.

'Watchmen'With Comic-Con beginning to wrap up, insiders here in San Diego are meeting up at parties and over breakfast, bestowing honors on certain film and TV titles as they look back at them. There seem to be some general consensuses on the biggest splash (“Twilight”), the biggest comeback (“Heroes”), and the film with the biggest uphill battle ahead of it (“The Spirit”). Similarly, there seems to be an undebatable winner for having unveiled the best footage: “Watchmen.”

Such names as Kevin Smith made reference in other panels that Zack Snyder’s anti-hero superhero film had already won him over with its presentation on Friday. And the geeks themselves were left drooling as they congregated around the 9000-pound Owl Ship, posed beneath an enormous “Who Watches the Watchmen?” banner in the lobby of the Convention Center, and stepped in front of each other to grab a glimpse of eye-popping Comic-Con exclusive posters.
