Wonder Woman

by Brett White

Has Marvel and DC's current game of one-upmanship led to DC secretly adding Wonder Woman to the cast of Zack Snyder's 2015 "Man of Steel" sequel? That's the rumor currently swirling around a few Hollywood agencies as they send actresses out for a very specific—and very vague—role in the upcoming team-up/throw-down film.

Bleeding Cool has reported that the role is for a woman in her late '20s or early '30s who has to appear physically strong, which sounds a lot like the casting call for Batman's love interest that that was rumored to be circulating earlier this month. Bleeding Cool wonders what other female role would require this much secrecy, unless the role is actually for the film's villain and not a love interest/woman of wonder.

Taylor Swift

by Brett White

UK tabloid The Mirror has a big scoop if it turns out to be true. According to their inside source, country pop phenomenon Taylor Swift will be joining the cast of "Secret Service," director Matthew Vaughn's next collaboration with comic book creator Mark Millar following their 2010 hit "Kick-Ass."

The film would mark Swift's biggest movie role to date, as well as one of her first high-profile acting gigs. Aside from hosting "Saturday Night Live" in 2009 and a few appearances on shows like "CSI" and "New Girl," the singer's mainly stepped in front of a camera to perform and win awards. According to The Mirror, Swift's character will be kidnapped by the villain, played by Samuel L. Jackson.

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston is the danger. He is the one who knocks. And pretty soon, he might be knocking on Superman's door.

El Mayimbe at Latino-Review.com tweeted some very obvious clues that the "Breaking Bad" star is the man Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. want to play Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel — the same film that puts Kal-El on the Caped Crusader's radar.

Miles Teller

by Brett White

Director Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot may have just found its patriarch—Miles Teller. The actor, who is poised to become a breakout star following this year's "The Spectacular Now" and next year's film adaptation of the YA novel "Divergent," is said to have met with Trank to discuss the role of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic.

The rumor follows in the footsteps of a few other Fantastic hopefuls—Allison Williams as the Invisible Woman and Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch. No roles have been cast just yet, and apparently Fox hasn't even hired a casting director, but the Wrap reports that Teller is Trank's first choice.

Indestructible Hulk

by Brett White

He was the breakout star of "Marvel's the Avengers," so fans naturally insist on more Hulk. But for right now, more Hulk is not to be had, at least not until "Avengers 2" in 2015. But after two feature films - both released to mixed reactions - what would it take to make the jade giant work on the big screen?

It turns out that comic book readers may have been reading the key to a solo Hulk movie's success for the last few months in the form of Mark Waid's "Indestructible Hulk."

This rumor comes courtesy of Comic Book Movie and it's actually so perfect it deserves all the attention. But why is it perfect? And why is it better than that other rumored Hulk film? Read on to find out!

Joseph Gordon Levitt

by Brett White

While we're most likely just a few days away from Marvel officially announcing "Doctor Strange" for the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Latino Review reckons they have the film's leading man all sorted out too. According to the site's sources, Marvel's eyeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the role of Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme.

This hardly comes as a surprise since the actor has been tied to a number of comic book roles since playing a big part in 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises." The actor's been tied to "Justice League" ever since that Bat-film's final shot, and was even rumored to pop up in "Man of Steel" (he did not).

Over on the Marvel side of things, the actor was one of many eyed for Star-Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy," a role that eventually went to Chris Pratt. But would Gordon-Levitt work as Doctor Strange?

Shailene Woodley

by Brett White

Spider-Man fans were shocked to learn that Shailene Woodley's role as Mary Jane Watson had been removed from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," especially since all of the actress' scenes had already been shot.

Initially it was stated that Mary Jane was just being postponed to a later Spider flick, but that statement's truth has been called into question. There was even a rumor that new cast addition Sarah Gadon was replacing Woodley in the role ASAP. That's been denied, but the reasons behind MJ's bumping has yet to be revealed. Until now... maybe.

Hollywood Life has heard from an unnamed source "close to the production" the supposed real reasons Shailene was held back. They're full of spoilers, though, so don't go peeking after the jump unless you're ready for it.

Colm Feore

by Brett White

Comic Book Movie has a pair of casting rumors that make things very interesting for next summer's Marvel movies. If true, one character is getting a next-level-ridiculous push from Marvel after years spent in obscurity, and the other one possibly sets up some big trouble for a popular protagonist in a future film.

Listen, I don't know what people do and do not consider spoilers. I know I don't personally consider either of these spoilers, but who am I to be the judge? Odds are both of these rumors will be confirmed or denied extremely publicly in the next few months, well before either hits theaters. But if not and one of them is a super-mega-secret plot point, well, the rumors are post jump!
