The search is on for Peter Parker's new love interest in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot, with the list currently narrowed down to five young actresses — Lilly Collins ("Priest"), Ophelia Lovibond ("Nowhere Boy"), Teresa Palmer ("The Sorcerer's Apprentice"), Imogen Poots ("Fright Night") and Emma Roberts ("4.3.2.1."). Curiously enough, none of these women will play Mary Jane Watson, but a new love interest altogether.

In a special edition of Secret Identity, we're weighing in on the pros and cons of the five alleged front-runners for the "Spider-Man" leading lady! Read More...

Despite some teases, Marvel Studios is keeping their post-"Avengers" plans fairly close to the vest, with one notable exception: a planned adaptation of "Runaways," based on Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's popular comic book series.

"Runaways" focuses on six youngsters who learn that their parents are all members of a legion of super-villains known as The Pride, resulting in our heroes' quest to bring their folks to justice. It's an endlessly entertaining ride filled with comedy, action and heartbreak aplenty, necessitating a top notch cast of young actors to fill out the main "Runaways" roles.

Casting such an adaptation is no easy feat, but we're going to give it our best shot — after the jump, see our picks for the "Runaways" cast! Read More...

Seagle. Certainly, the stars are aligning for the animated future of "Spider-Man."

But that's just on the behind-the-scenes side of things, as the actual voice cast of "Ultimate Spider-Man" has yet to be announced. Announcements are certainly forthcoming, but in the meantime, it's fun to think about some of the high profile actors who could lend their voices to Peter Parker on the new show.

Worry not, Punisher fans — Frank Castle has come home.

Announced at the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con, the rights for the Punisher have returned to Marvel, allowing the studio to put their character back on the big or small screen in anyway that they see fit. It's excellent news for Castle fans who feel the character hasn't gotten the proper live-action treatment he deserves. With Marvel back at the helm, it's a sure bet that Punisher is going to head back to theaters with a vengeance sometime in the near future.

But with three actors having played Castle over the last 21 years, who could possibly fill the street-level judge, jury and executioner's shoes next? After the jump, you can check out some of our suggestions for who Marvel should cast as the next Punisher! Read More...

Inception"Inception" arrives in theaters today, providing moviegoers with yet another healthy dose of Christopher Nolan's crazy adventures in filmmaking. Of course, "Inception" isn't necessarily what comic book fans are most eager to see from Nolan's camp — those fans are more likely craving Nolan's return to Gotham City in the untitled "Batman 3" and his debut trip to Metropolis as a producer on "Superman."

But that doesn't mean we can't blend Nolan's "Inception" sensibilities with his comic book plans, folks. After all, "Inception" boasts a great deal of talented actors, including a handful who have already appeared in Nolan's "Batman" films such as Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine and Ken Watanabe. What's the harm in adding a few more?

After the jump, see the "Batman" and "Superman" characters we would task out to the "Inception" cast! Read More...

As the cast for "X-Men: First Class" continues to fill out with confirmed additions and rumors aplenty, one particular report stands out among the rest — Kevin Bacon is reportedly in negotiations to play the villain opposite James McAvoy's Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender's Magneto.

Bacon's involvement isn't confirmed yet, but even less certain is the bad guy role that "First Class" is attempting to fill out. No names have been offered in connection with the initial Bacon reports, leading fans to speculate as to who the energetic actor might play in the superhero film.

In this special Secret Identity, we're offering a few of the "X-Men" villains we think Bacon is capable of playing in "First Class." Read More...

Josh Hutcherson was long mentioned as a front-runner for the lead role of Peter Parker in Sony's "Spider-Man" reboot -- some even pegged him as a virtual lock for the part -- but as we're all no doubt aware by now, Hutcherson won't be spinning webs for Sony. That's a distinction belonging to Andrew Garfield.

But just because the "Spider-Man" ship has sailed for Hutcherson doesn't mean that the "Journey to the Center of the Earth" actor should close the door on the comic book community.

Here are a few other roles we could see Hutcherson taking on! Read More...

For many comic book and genre fans, "The Last Airbender" is the most interesting movie entering the box office arena this weekend. For others, it's "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which already earned a heaping pile of money on its opening day this past Wednesday.

There's no question that "Eclipse" is going to continue to do solid business at the box office throughout the weekend and likely beyond, but there's only one two-part film left in the "Twilight" franchise past this weekend's threequel — in other words, many of these actors are going to be looking for new franchises.

To help them along, here are a few recommendations for some of the "Eclipse" cast in case they're interested in diving into the comic book and superhero pool! Read More...

With Comic-Con International just around the corner, it shouldn't be long before fans get some new official information regarding "The Avengers," the superhero team-up flick featuring the likes of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. But there are other heroes said to be involved from Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye to the repeated rumors of Nathan Fillion as Hank Pym.

Another Avenger to consider is Janet Van Dyne, the shrinking scientist superhero best known to fans as The Wasp. With few females on the Avengers roster aside from Black Widow, it's a virtual certainty that Wasp will buzz onto the scene when the film hits theaters in 2012 — the only question is, who's going to play her?

After the jump, we've listed a few of the candidates we'd like to see take a sting at Wasp when "The Avengers" assemble on the big screen! Read More...

It was announced earlier this week that Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim had been hired to write a treatment for "The Flash," adding further credibility to reports that DC Entertainment is putting the Scarlet Speedster on the fast track.

There are several factors to consider before "The Flash" moves fully into production, but it's never too early to ponder who might play the titular speedster. As the film is said to focus on Barry Allen — not Wally West, as was the plan for the scrapped "Justice League" film — the actor we're looking for should embody the wits, methodology and courage that Barry is best known for.

After the jump, check out five candidates we'd nominate to play The Flash! Read More...
