It's been a long time since I've posted an official Swag Report, and the arrival of a bunch of cool, unexpected packages at Splash Page HQ recently had me feeling the urge to give this awesome swag — and the people who sent it — a shout-out on the site.

Good stuff definitely came in threes for this edition of the Swag Report, with a great "Doctor Who" poster, an interactive "Doctor Who" toy that will probably be the death of me, and a piece of certified zombie history.

Another week, another pile of packages arriving at Splash Page HQ. Yesterday, I gave you a peek at our new home in the MTV News room (and wondered how much of the random stuff on my desk you could identify), today I'm posting some of the highlights from this week's crop of stuff to pile in, on and around the new desk!

From left to right, here are some of the interesting items from this week's stash:

- It was hard to miss Gene Simmons of KISS and his son, Nick Simmons, strolling around the floor at Comic-Con in San Diego this year—mainly due to the mob of security guards and onlookers that surrounded them. Nick was there to promote his new series from Radical Publishing, "Incarnate," which had its first issue hit shelves last week. Read More...

Another Comic-Con has come and gone, but I arrived back at Splash Page HQ to find a big ol' pile of boxes waiting for me. Some of the new swag included some great Comic-Con exclusives -- not the least of which was a massive Abe Sapien that is now staring down at me as a write this. It is unnerving, to say the least.

There were also some great books, toys and an assortment of geekery that reminds me why being the editor of Splash Page is such a privilege.

This week was a bit slow as far as the arrival of comics and other swag, but what did arrive was either very quirky or of the must-read variety. And as far as hauls go, that's not a bad thing at all. Here's a photo of some of the highlights from this week's Swag Report arrivals, along with some notes about each of item.

"100 Bullets: Wilt" -- Yet another reminder that I'm woefully behind on a few series that I've heard nothing but great things about, the 13th (and final) volume of Brian Azzarello's brilliant (I'm told) crime series hits shelves in early July. I haven't read a single issue of this one, and that's a real shame, because I've heard amazing things about this story from start to finish. Receiving this volume is going to force me to pick up the first 12 -- which isn't a bad thing at all.

Things can get pretty hectic around Splash Page HQ sometimes, but one of the constant reminders of just how great a job I have is the arrival of new books, movies and other comics-related swag each day. Whether it's comics I've heard of but never got around to reading, movies or television series I need to catch up on, or any number of cool, strange or otherwise funky toys to populate my already-crowded desk, every day brings a new package, it seems.

That's why I've decided to pick a few of the items I received in the mail each week and post a photo of them here on Splash Page, with a few thoughts about each one. Maybe you're already familiar with one of them and can offer some thoughts of your own, or maybe I'll be the first to tell you about something cool that flew under your radar. Either way, I'm just looking forward to reading what you have to say about them -- so don't hesitate to chime in with a comment or two.
