Mark Ruffalo is getting big, mean and green for "The Avengers" next month, giving us our third big-screen version of the incredible Hulk in 10 years. Hopefully, he'll be the one that sticks. By all accounts, Ruffalo's take on Hulk looks to be among the best of the bunch, and his colleagues have certainly poured out a lot of love on his behalf. I'm as excited as anyone to see him in the Marvel blockbuster, and I'm already starting to wonder whether or not we'll get the man back for his very own "Hulk" movie. Turns out, Ruffalo's been thinking about the same thing.
Alongside news that "Captain America: The First Avenger" is getting a sequel in the not-too-distant future comes this brand new photo of Cap in "The Avengers." Looking good, Steve!
Part of me is bummed that this new "Captain America" movie is going to be set in the modern era. I would love to see the story head back to World War II with Dum Dum Dugan in tow (if only to see Neal McDonough again), though I'm still not convinced that we won't have Brubaker-esque flashbacks in the mix. Still, looking upon Cap's new "Avengers" digs has me very excited to see what the super-soldier's got in store for a world filled with iPads and Lady Gaga fans. Should be a good time.
What do you think -- are you psyched for a modern "Captain America" sequel, or would you prefer another round of World War II mayhem? Sound off in the comments or on Twitter!
Why hello there, "Avengers" theme song!
Soundgarden's "Live to Rise," the band's first new recorded track in 15 years, has made its full debut online today. It's… I don't know, not my cup of tea, but your mileage may vary. It'll be on the "Avengers Assemble" soundtrack hitting stores on May 1.
Check it out for yourself past the jump.
The fan-driven campaign to elect Donald Glover as our next live-action Peter Parker didn't quite work out, but the geek community continues to rally behind the "Community" geek. In fact, just today, in response to my "Ninja Turtles" casting call, I received the following tweet from @CinematicESP: "Donald Glover as Donatello. Spread the word..."
Spread the word I shall! I can easily picture Glover's voice behind the bo-wielding hero (as well as several other "Community" actors providing voices for the Turtles -- Abed as Raphael, anyone? Maybe he's better equipped for Shredder). But then again, a big part of me wants to hear nothing but the Turtles themselves when they hit the big screen. Shouldn't it be about the definitely-ninja but maybe-not-mutant turtles, and not the star power behind them?
Either way, I'd be hard-pressed to complain if Glover was cast in Bay/Liebesman's "Ninja Turtles." But tell us what you think, in our closing thoughts of the day: would you like to see the "Community" star provide the voice of Donatello? Is this where the fan campaign begins? Hit us up on Twitter or in the comments section with your opinions!
