By now you've all heard the latest "Spider-Man 4" casting rumors — depending on which source you read, both Julia Stiles and Anne Hathaway are up for the role of Felicia Hardy, the burglar known as Black Cat. We offered up our own suggestions for the role a while back in our weekly Secret Identity column, and also pondered Eliza Dushku's willingness to play the role.

However, Stiles' arrival on the rumor scene got us thinking about a recent interview with the actress in which she discussed her interest in comic book movies and debunked a casting rumor that had been floating around the 'Net. While the interview was conducted prior to the recent "Spider-Man 4" buzz, it seemed a good time to throw the clip out there and see what possibilities fans can draw from it.

"No, not that I'm aware of," Stiles said when asked about a rumor that she was up for the role of Sue Storm in the "Fantastic Four" movie. "I was never told that I was being considered for that role. I was surprised by that."

While Stiles said she has an interest in comics — having just read Michael Chabon's prize-winning novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" — she said there weren't any existing projects that have caught her eye.

However, she told MTV News she wouldn't balk at being offered a role in a comic book movie, either.

"I try to keep an open mind to opportunities various," she said.

Think Stiles would make a good Black Cat? What other roles might she be a good fit for? Let us know what you think in the comment section or on Twitter!

I'd love to see movies made out of "Press Your Luck" and that Japanese show where contestants had to guess what dangerous animal was atop their head. In a way, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" has already been turned into a movie ("Slumdog Millionaire"), and now a producer of "300" is bringing "American Gladiators" to the big screen.

Scott Mednick, also an executive producer of this fall's "Where the Wild Things Are," has hired "Point Break" screenwriter Peter Iliff to script the previously announced adaptation of the physical competition series as a movie that, Variety says, will "feature the Herculean characters as superheroes." But will amateur athletes be cast as the villains? It would certainly be appropriate to the format of the show, which involved everyday contenders battling the gigantic male and female Gladiators for a shot at $100,000 and a car.

When "Shaun of the Dead" director Edgar Wright was first announced for the big-screen adaptation of of Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim" series, you could practically hear the collective sigh of relief around the 'Net. For many fans, the belief was that if anyone can successfully bring the surreal adventures of slacker hero Scott Pilgrim to theaters faithfully, it's Wright.

And while we haven't seen any footage from the much-anticipated film yet, "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" actor Jason Schwartzman would seem to agree with the sentiment that Wright was the right man for the job. Schwartzman plays Gideon, one of the final "evil ex-boyfriends" the title character must battle to win the affection of his girlfriend.

"One of the things that's so great about Edgar is that if he wasn't directing this movie, he would be Ticketholder #1 in line for it," Schwartzman told MTV News. "He is such a fan of movies and of these comics and what this movie is going to be. He gets just as excited as the people do — the fans. He's a fan."

On the subject of Wright's very public and vocal online presence promoting the film (for much of the film's production, he posted a photo each day from the set), Schwartzman said the man behind the camera never stopped having fun with the film.

"He enjoys the communication and the Internet and photographs, and [he] enjoys the back-and-forth, the puzzles and the games of this movie," he said. "It was fun for him to do."

In the end, Schwartzman said Wright was just another fan — but a fan tasked with a very important duty.

"His main thing is just honoring [the fans] and wanting them to enjoy the movie," he exlplained. "He's making the movie for them, so he really feels a sense of connection to the audience."

With filming of “30 Days of Night: Dark Days”, currently underway in Canada, Steve Niles — the writer and creator of “30 Days” — is hinting that more sequels may follow.

"Right now we’re just trying to get this one in the can," said Niles in an interview with Bloody Disgusting. "If that goes well, we’re set up to move forward. We got a great young cast that we can bring along if this works out well, and we’ll be ready to keep going with the story. Plus, the comics are done. God, what do we have, like seven different graphic novels now if it actually took off?"

“30 Days of Night” was first published in 2002 as a three issue miniseries by IDW with Niles and artist Ben Templesmith as the creative team. The story follows the residents of a small town in Alaska who must endure a siege of vampires during an extended period without sunlight. A feature film adaptation was released in 2007 starring Josh Hartnett as Sheriff Eben Olemaun and Melissa George as his estranged wife Stella.

Earlier this year, word broke that the first sequel — “Dark Days” — would be going forward as a direct-to-DVD film. The story is a direct adaptation of the comic sequel and focuses on Stella as she seeks revenge for the death of her husband. Filming began last month under director Ben Ketai.

Back in October, Niles expressed his desire to see George reprise her role as Stella . However, Kiele Sanchez ("Lost") stepped in to take over the part. In the interview with Bloody Disgusting, Niles explained why George couldn’t return.

"Schedule. The enemy of all casting,” said Niles. “She’s got a million gazillion things going on right now, so we couldn’t fit it."

Are you excited to hear that more “30 Days” sequels may be in the works? Which story would you like to see adapted next? Open a vein and let out your thoughts in the comment section below or view your reflection on Twitter!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elba will portray Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost bridge to Asgard. In Marvel’s “Thor” mythology, Heimdall is also the brother of Sif.

Elba — who is perhaps best known for his role as Stringer Bell on “The Wire” — recently finished filming his part in “The Losers”, an adaptation of the Vertigo comic by Andy Diggle and Jock.

Earlier this month, Elba expressed interest in appearing in “100 Bullets" — the Vertigo series by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso that wrapped up last summer. Back in July, Azzarello hinted that “100 Bullets” might end up as a TV series.

“Thor” is currently set to begin filming in January with Chris Hemsworth in the title role along with Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jamie Alexander as Sif, and Ray Stevenson, Stuart Townsend, and Tadanobu Asano as the Warriors Three.

Colm Feore and Stellan Skarsgard have also been confirmed to appear in the film in currently unspecified roles.

Mining the multitude of fan-made trailers on the 'Net occasionally yields a real gem (for example: "Thundercats: The Movie"), and that's definitely the case for this "Batman 3" mash-up trailer that offers up a hypothetical brawl between Christian Bale as Batman, Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.

Created by YouTube user HawkeyeProtagonist, "Batman: Caped Crusader Teaser 1 (Penguin & Riddler)" splices clips from Christopher Nolan's previous Batman movies, as well as clips from Depp's "Secret Window" and Hoffman's villainous turn in "Mission: Impossible III" (among other films I could be missing). The final product is a compelling argument for both actors and their respective villains to make a bow in the next Batman movie.

Heck, with that monologue, Hoffman might even be able to strike terror into the Dark Knight's heart.

Longtime readers will recall that the original source of the Depp/Hoffman rumor was none other than "Batman" franchise actor Michael Caine, who told MTV News back in September 2008 that he believed the pair had been cast in the film. He later clarified his comments, explaining that it was all just a big misunderstanding (one that, for a time, that set the 'Net on fire).

Still, this fan-made trailer sure does make the idea of Depp and Hoffman tangling with Gotham's protector a little more appealing!

Like the trailer? What about the idea of Depp/Hoffman in "Batman 3"? Let us know what you think in the comment section or on Twitter!

The cat is out of the bag for Rachel McAdams, who recently debunked rumors that she'd appear in "Spider-Man 4."

However, that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from speculating on other actresses who could play Black Cat, but it has seemingly dashed McAdams' comic book movie prospects.

And just because McAdams isn't suiting up as Felicia Hardy doesn't mean she wouldn't work wonderfully in certain comic book adaptations. From superheroes, newspersons and gun-toting badasses, here are five characters from the comic book world that could be perfect casting for McAdams.

LOIS LANE: Would-be "Superman" director James McTeigue says that the property isn't flying anywhere anytime soon, but that doesn't mean that DC Entertainment isn't carefully considering where to take the Man of Steel.

Given that the franchise is undergoing a reboot, the lead roles are presumably wide open. If that's the case, why not cast McAdams as Lois Lane? She certainly has the right firm and feisty attitude for the role and could hold her own against whoever plays Superman. It doesn't hurt that she looks the part, too.

APRIL O'NEIL: Still, there's another reporter that McAdams is even better suited for — none other than April O'Neil of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" fame.

With a new live-action "Turtles" film on the way, a new April needs to be chosen and I think McAdams would be fantastic. She's funny, she's sweet and she's more than capable of standing up against an array of bumbling Foot Clan soldiers. Combine that with O'Neil's signature yellow jumpsuit, and I think we've found ourselves a winner.

SUSAN STORM: When I cast the "Fantastic Four" reboot several weeks ago, I aimed for an older line-up of actors than we saw in the first two films. But if Fox wants to keep a younger cast, I think McAdams would be a great choice for Susan Storm, perhaps better known as the Invisible Woman.

Sue is a character that needs an intelligent, warm presence behind the role — McAdams brings both of those qualities and more, including an occasional no-nonsense tone that would play well against the other three members of Marvel's first family.

TULIP: I'm not ready to discuss John Cusack's purported campaign for the lead role in "Preacher" — it's wrong on so many levels and maybe I'll tackle it some day — but the reality is, there's a movie shaping up. With casting hopefully starting before too much longer, I'd like to toss McAdams' name in the ring for Tulip, Jesse Custer's eagle-eyed girlfriend.

This is a role where McAdams' demonstrated strengths can really shine in one mean, aggressive and occasionally loving package. If nothing else, it's a complicated role in need of a talented actress, but I feel that McAdams could absolutely pull it off.

THE WASP: Early rumors projected Eva Longoria for the role of the Wasp in Marvel's upcoming "The Avengers," but the actress eventually denied the casting. With Longoria out, I'd happily see McAdams assume the role of Janet van Dyne in Marvel's major team-up flick. Janet shares a lot of Sue's qualities, except that her marriage with Hank Pym is unequivocally more tumultuous than Sue's relationship with Reed.

If Marvel sticks true to the characters in "The Avengers" — assuming they even make it into the film — then the Wasp will need to be played by a courageous actress. In my mind, McAdams has that quality in spades.

Are there other comic book characters you think McAdams would be well-suited for? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter!

It’s not every day that an Eisner Award-winner teams up with a Los Angeles streetwear company, but judging by Stan Sakai’s collaboration with The Hundreds, it might not be a bad idea. The Hundreds will release two t-shirts Saturday, November 21 at their flagship store in Los Angeles and their store in San Francisco celebrating the 25th anniversary of Stan Sakai’s series "Usagi Yojimbo."

For those who haven't tapped into the world of "Usagi Yojimbo" yet, Miyamoto Usagi is a rabbit ronin samurai (the series' title translates to rabbit bodyguard in Japanese, kids), and the main character of Sakai’s long-running Dark Horse comic series. Sakai created the character in 1987 and modeled him after legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi.

Heavily influenced by Japanese history, pop culture and folklore, Usagi’s adventures have even teamed him up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at various points — including recurring cameos in the cartoon series and even his own action figure in the TMNT line. The series has earned Sakai 21 Eisner Awards nominations, as well as three awards.

Sakai will also be signing the latest issue of the series at The Hundreds’ Los Angeles store from 11 AM to 12 PM. The first 25 people who show up will receive a signed copy of the first-ever, full-color "Usagi Yojimbo" graphic novel, “Yokai.”

The worlds of comic books and "Twilight" overlapped unexpectedly back in August when "Youngblood" director Brett Ratner mentioned a desire to see "Twilight Saga" star Robert Pattinson in the lead role for the superhero team-up movie. Now, on the eve of the "New Moon" premiere, we have another "Twilight"/"Youngblood" crossover for you.

"Youngblood" creator Rob Liefeld revealed on Twitter earlier today that "New Moon" director Chris Weitz had drafted a script in 1996 for a movie based on Badrock, one of the fan-favorite Youngblood superheroes. Describing the screenplay as a "Beavis/Butthead/South Parky take on a kid superhero," Liefeld said studio New Line balked at the film's initial budget and eventually dropped the project.

I got in touch with Liefeld to find out more info about the "Badrock" movie that never happened, how Weitz got involved and some details about the film's plot.

MTV: So if I understand your updates on Twitter correctly, Chris Weitz wrote a "Badrock" script in 1996? How did he get connected with the character?

ROB LIEFELD: New Line Cinema optioned "Badrock" as a film. They dug the story of a kid whose life was so crap that he took his father's experimental, government-funded super serum and transformed himself into a gigantic, indestructible boy of stone.

It was another film in the style of "The Mask," which had been so successful for New Line. Studio chief Mike Deluca hired Chris Weitz and his brother Paul to write the script. They had just finished "Antz" for Dreamworks and they accepted the assignment and turned in a great, great script.

MTV: Did you ever meet with Chris Weitz about it?

LIEFELD: Yeah, we met several times, we talked about the comics. The source material was a two-part origin story I had done for "Youngblood: Strikefile" that dealt with the aftermath of the day Badrock transformed and the government took him into protective custody to study him.

MTV: Did Youngblood appear in the script? Who was the bad guy?

LIEFELD: The bad guy was Blackrock, a candidate for the super-soldier project that Badrock's father was developing who takes an amped-up version of the same serum in order to defeat Badrock after he escapes. ... There was no Youngblood appearance, but a mention of an organization that could maximize Badrock's powers and abilities is suggested at the close of the film... in the same vein as [Nick] Fury in "Iron Man."

MTV: You mentioned it was a "Beavis & Butthead/Southpark"-style story. What else can you say about it?

LIEFELD: The Beavis/Butthead/South Park of it all was the approach to Badrock as a real kid from a broken home with such irreverence and attitude. He super-farts and knocks a group of kids unconscious at a concert, and stage-dives and nearly kills the kids in the mosh pit.

He quickly realizes the extent of his power and strength and has some real teenage anger with a destructive shell to express all his frustration. He has a teen friend who is helping hide him, and it's very much in the vein of Tom Hank's "Big." The script was sweet, funny and action-packed.

MTV: You said studios balked at the price tag, but how close did it get to being produced?

LIEFELD: When the script came in at the start of 1997, the entire movie industry was cutting costs left and right, and the budget on the "Badrock" film was tagged at close to $75 million. New Line wanted a movie closer to $55 million.

The climactic battle between Badrock and Blackrock was very similar to the Hulk vs. Abomination scene, and the pair were going to destroy Los Angeles, tearing up the Groman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood and Vine... it was a huge, all-CGI fight. The cost of Badrock being CGI the entire film became a budgetary problem. You can see that the "Fantastic Four" films never bit on that aspect with The Thing either.

Chris and Paul Weitz followed all the studio notes and turned in a scaled-down script, then "Lost in Space" came out and tanked for New Line, following disappointing returns on "Spawn," and they backed away from big-budget films for several years until diving into "Lord of the Rings."

I've followed the careers of both Weitz brothers with great enthusiasm, and they have proven over and over again how ridiculously talented they are. I believe this is the only script they wrote that has not been produced. I'll probably adapt their "Badrock" script as a comic book in the next year: "Badrock: The Comic Book Adaptation Of The Movie That Never Was."
