Luke Evans

by Brett White

It looks like after months of casting rumors, "The Crow" reboot has finally found its leading man. Deadline reports that Luke Evans has landed the lead role, hopefully bringing this game of casting hot potato to a decisive end. Evans stars as the bad guy in this month's "Fast and Furious 6," but genre-film fans will be getting a big dose of Evans over the next few years since the actor will be playing Bard in the next two "Hobbit" films. Evans will also be recognizable for those who saw last year's "Immortals" or "The Three Musketeers."

Silver Samurai

by Brett White

"The Wolverine" director James Mangold used his Twitter account over the weekend to give fans another look at the mutant's main adversary, the Silver Samurai. Instead of offering up more shots of the character as recently glimpsed in the film's CinemaCon footage, the director showed off a new one-sheet poster that fits right in, stylistically, with the film's first poster.

Check out the full one-sheet poster below.

Iron Man 3

If box office totals are any indication, then odds are you spent your weekend flying high with "Iron Man 3." Box Office Mojo reports that the Iron Man three-quel grossed an estimated $175.3 million domestically this weekend, bringing its worldwide gross to just over $680 million. Sure, that may just be a week's worth of four-course meals where billionaire Tony Stark is concerned, but to the rest of us that's big money.

The opening puts "Iron Man 3" a bit behind the current weekend champ, last year's "Marvel's the Avengers." That film, which also prominently featured Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, earned an unbelievable $207.4 million, a total that now seems almost impossible to overtake. The previous runner-up was 2011's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" with $169.1 million.

Dr. Strange

by Brett White

Now that it's in theaters, "Iron Man 3" is old news. We want some new information! We want to hear about new projects! Out with the old, in with whatever new thing Kevin Feige wants to talk about! Luckily the president of Marvel Studios likes talking about new things just as much as we love reading about them, as evidenced in two recent articles over at Collider. In them, Feige drops a few more hints about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically about the progress of the long-awaited-ish "Doctor Strange" and the highly-anticipated TV series, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." When asked about the good doctor's progress, Feige revealed that they're ready to get to work on the film now that "Iron Man 3" has been shepherded into theaters.

"'Dr. Strange' is something that I talk about often and it's sort of next up for us to dig into and explore. Our executive producer of 'Iron Man 3,' having done 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and as that was finishing he started working on the bones that would become 'Iron Man 3,' and now that he’s finished with 'Iron Man 3,' he’s working on the bones that would become 'Doctor Strange.' Now that 'Iron Man 3' is finished, some of our quote-unquote spare time is going to be devoted to trying to crack 'Strange.'"

With "Man of Steel" landing in theaters on June 14th, a lot of attention has been placed on "Superman Lives," the Tim Burton/Kevin Smith/Nic Cage Super-film that failed to get off the ground 15 years ago. New concept art for the film, along with art from director Darren Aronofsky's failed "Batman: Year One" film, has surfaced today.

Comic Book Movie has great insight into both "Superman Lives" and "Batman: Year One", including some truly out there plot synopses. For fans eagerly waiting to see a homeless Bruce Wayne or Lex Luthor and Brainiac combined into something called "Luthiac," you'll be sad to know that your (very weird) dreams would have come true if these films had been made.

Man of Steel

The marketing for "Man of Steel" continues to get better and better as we get closer to the movie's release date. Following yesterday's poster, a new TV spot has been released that teases Superman's journey in the upcoming movie.

Like the poster, the spot focuses on the titular Man of Steel's flight and how awesome it is. One shot in particular, where Superman zooms by and is followed by some government planes, is especially effective and foreboding. Trailers for "Man of Steel" have shown time and again that Superman doesn't have an easy time ingratiating himself with the US government after he comes out as a superhero, and that is definitely teased in this shot.

Avengers

Don't think that "Iron Man 3" will be the last you'll see of Tony Stark any time soon. During a new interview with Super Hero Hype, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed the character will be a "big part" of "The Avengers 2."

"We’re not developing 'Iron Man 4.' Currently, as you may imagine, Iron Man is a big part of 'Avengers 2' and that’s what we’re focusing on and what Joss [Whedon] is focusing on. So where we go after that remains to be seen, but certainly, 'Avengers 2' being the next appearance, the next storyline for Iron Man," Feige told Super Hero Hype.

Gamora

Everyone can relax. Zoe Saldana has confirmed her involvement in "Guardians of the Galaxy." The actress was previously reported as being in "final talks" to star as Gamora in next year's Marvel movie, and even though that's code for "pretty much a done deal," we really didn't want to get our hopes up and then dashed. Zoe Saldana is the perfect choice for Gamora, and her involvement only makes us that much more excited for the film.

The confirmation comes from a pair of just-released videos, one coming from the world premiere of "Star Trek Into Darkness." In it, Saldana confirms her involvement, saying that director James Gunn approached her about being in the film.

"I didn't know about the comic, as I normally am clueless that way. My sister sort of informed me of it, I read the script and i was blown away with it."

But where will "Iron Man 3" land when the dust clears on Monday morning? Box Office Mojo's Ray Subers thinks that the threequel is on track for a $177 million opening weekend domestically, which would top "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" and make it the second-highest opening ever. But what's keeping Tony Stark from taking the top spot?
