Brandon Routh as SupermanJust because Brandon Routh isn't scheduled to return to blue and red tights anytime soon doesn't mean the former Superman hasn't picked up his share of new skills.

In addition to his roles as nightmare investigator Dylan Dog in the upcoming "Dead Of Night," as well as evil, vegan-powered rocker Todd Ingram in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" the actor will now allegedly be able to add spy skills to his resume on the upcoming third season of NBC's "Chuck."

According to EW.com's Ausiello Files, Routh will appear in a multi-episode story arc beginning with the fourth episode of the upcoming season. Read more...

Actor Brandon Routh is all over the geek scene lately, whether it's playing the Man of Steel in "Superman Returns," taking a more indie turn as Vegan musician Todd Ingram in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" or his upcoming role as Italian comic book hero Dylan Dog in "Dead of Night." And as if that wasn't enough geek cred, he's even a "World of Warcraft" gamer, too.

When I sat down with Routh during this year's Comic-Con, I'll admit being a little unfamiliar with his character in "Dead of Night." Luckily for me, Routh was able to describe Dylan Dog in terms I (and I'm guessing a lot of readers here) will understand — simply put, he pulled the "Star Wars" card.

"That's what's cool about Dylan Dog, he's kind of like Han Solo," Routh said of his "normal, every day guy" character. "He just has his swagger and his charisma and his dour attitude sometimes that gets him through the day." Read more...

Last week, you heard from "Superman Returns" actor Brandon Routh about his upcoming role in the live-action adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," but at one point during my conversation with the comics-friendly star, the subject turned to gaming: specifically, his obsession with the popular online role-playing game "World of Warcraft."

Apparently, the Man of Steel isn't just a child of Krypton and Earth -- he's also a resident of Azeroth, too.

"I'm kind of a gamer," Routh told MTV News. He then hinted that he's not only excited about the announcement that "Spider-Man" director Sam Raimi will helm a big-screen adaptation of the game, but he's hoping to get a role in it. Read more...

Movie soundtracks tend to be pretty hit-or-miss, but I feel pretty safe predicting that Edgar Wright's upcoming adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" will produce one of the best albums to come out of a comic book movie (or any movie, for that matter) in quite a while.

The involvement of Radiohead and Beck producer Nigel Godrich is impressive on its own, but when I had the chance to talk with actor Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") about the movie and Todd Ingram, the character he plays who is both a nemesis to Pilgrim and the bassist for rival band The Clash at Demonhead, the conversation quickly turned to the film's music -- specifically, would he be playing any of it?

"I do, I play the bass. ... I had a few months of rehearsal," Routh told MTV News. "We play a song. There's a band called Metric, and so we cover their song. It's this Canadian band." Read more...

As you already know, actor Brandon Routh dropped by Splash Page HQ earlier today to discuss the multiple comic book movies on his plate these days. Along with upcoming roles in "Dead of Night" and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," Routh is probably best known for his starring role in another little film called "Superman Returns."

With a role as the Man of Steel behind him and DC/Warner Bros. compelled to make another Superman movie by 2011, Routh would certainly seem an apt choice to reprise his performance -- but what if the studio decides to look elsewhere? I asked Routh how he'd feel about seeing another actor don the ol' red-and-blue tights.

"That's a tough question to ask, but I trust that everything goes as planned and I'd love to return to the character," said Routh. "I love the character and loved working with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures and I'd be happy to come back."

Keep an eye on Splash Page throughout Comic-Con 2009 for more of our interview with actor Brandon Routh about "Superman Returns," "Dead of Night" and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," as well as all of the other movers and shakers in town for the big show!

MTV has a storied history with photo booths, and since we're bringing through a ton of celebrities here at Comic-Con, we thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to have them pose for us. First up is appropriately Superman himself, Brandon Routh, who's here for his new film "Dead of Night." Check him out below and then click here to see more famous folks in our Photo Booth gallery.

Brandon RouthSure, when Superman eventually returns to theaters, you'll "believe a man can fly" yet again -- but that man might not be actor Brandon Routh.

While the former Man of Steel would certainly love a chance to don the blue-and-red uniform, Routh said the choice is no longer in his hands -- it's in the studio's.

"The term of the contract expired," Routh told Spanish-language entertainment site Omelete (an English translation is available via Google). "But if they call me again, [I'd go] back to the character without thinking twice!" Read more...

Brandon RouthActor Brandon Routh will complete a unique comic book movie trifecta when he wraps work on "Dead of Night." The star of "Superman Returns" already grabbed a top-shelf role in a superhero movie, and soon he'll appear in theaters in a live-action adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," based on the hit indie comic.

The third jewel in his comics-movie crown will be his starring role as Dylan Dog in the upcoming film "Dead of Night," which will round out his résumé nicely with an Italian comics horror property -- one which Routh told MTV News his producers might lighten up a bit from its source material. 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World'Thus far, production of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has been incredibly well documented with behind-the-scenes photos that blend elements of reality and illustration. But as enjoyably creative as the obscured images are, fans are starting to jones for a better look at the project.

Seems that director Edgar Wright got the memo, as he posted three new pictures from the upcoming Oni Press adaptation on his website yesterday. The photos reveal our first clear look at Scott's musical rivals, the deadly Clash at Demonhead, as merchandising for their newest album hits record stores in the film. Read more...

Brandon Routh as Dylan DogAfter months of stop-and-go news, director Kevin Munroe's "Dead of Night" is finally moving full-speed ahead. The cast is fully assembled, the cameras are rolling and star Brandon Routh is donning the necessary gear to battle the undead -- namely, a red shirt, sport jacket and crazy-looking monocle.

Shocktillyoudrop.com visited the New Orleans set of "Dead of Night" this week, and gave readers the first look at Routh as main character Dylan Dog (posted after the jump), the titular hero of Tiziano Sclavi's Italian comic book series on which the film is based. Read more...
