There's nothing like celebrating the new year with a healthy dose of revenge. The upcoming Sylvester Stallone action flick "Bullet to the Head" comes out in a month and a half, and the new poster for the flick promises that its leading man isn't too old for a revenge movie.

Of course, we already knew that thanks to the two badass trailers released for the film. Still, it's nice to be reminded that "revenge never gets old," even if Stallone does. The new poster comes courtesy of IGN.

Bullet to the Head

If you break Sylvester Stallone's rules, he's going to come and break your face. Or, in this case, he's going to put a bullet in your head.

Unlike the previous trailer for the flick, which did a great job setting up the movie's story, this new look at the film is all about selling "Bullet to the Head" as a badass action movie. And it succeeds. Walter Hill's big return to directing is sure to make his fans very pleased, while Stallone continues to excel at the aging action hero shtick he's been selling in "The Expendables" movies.

Sylvester Stallone's having himself a big day. Not only is "The Expendables 2" finally rip-roaring its way back into theaters this weekend, but the first trailer for his new action movie, "Bullet to the Head," has also dropped.

Directed by Walter Hill and based on the French graphic novel Du Plomb Dans La Tete, Stallone stars in "Bullet" as Jimmy Bobo, a hitman who teams up with a young New York City cop (Sung Kang) for a deadly investigation that brings them all the way from the Big Apple to the Big Easy. The film hits theaters on February 1, 2013.

Bullet to the Head Stallone

It wasn't clear what Warner Bros. had planned for "Bullet to the Head," Sylvester Stallone and Walter Hill's graphic novel adaptation, when the studio axed the April 2012 release date and removed the movie from its schedule.

But just when it seemed like the title may have been more ominous than intended, Deadline is reporting that "Bullet to the Head" is now set for a February 1, 2013 release.

The story follows Stallone as a hitman, who teams with a New York City police officer to exact revenge on the killer would murdered their respective partners. Sung Kang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jason Momoa, and Sarah Shahi co-star.

Despite reports to the contrary, all is going well in the editing room of "Bullet to the Head." A rumor sprouted up over the weekend that Sylvester Stallone was behind Warner Bros pulling "Bullet to the Head" from their release schedule only weeks before it was slated to hit theaters. Allegedly he had taken control of the editing room from director Walter Hill. However both Stallone and Warner Bros have stepped out to state that the rumor is just that: a rumor.

Stallone told Ain't It Cool News that the story is "an egregious lie, I have nothing to do with the editing to 'Bullet to the Head.' Walter is doing a FANTASTIC job! I think it is a FANTASTIC job and he's editing it!"

Sylvester Stallone

It turns out that Sylvester Stallone's "Bullet to the Head" won't be hitting theaters on April 13 after all. That weekend is stacked with big releases like "The Three Stooges" and "The Cabin in the Woods," so apparently Warner Bros has chosen to pull "Bullet" from that day and have it face off against some other competitors. The only question is when.

Unfortunately, that's a question that does not yet have an answer. Deadline had the news that Warner Bros has pulled "Bullet to the Head" from its release schedule, but gives no time frame for when it will return. Hopefully it will get another weekend around then -- perhaps April 20, where its only competition would be "The Lucky One" and "Lockout" -- but "Bullet" could always get bumped to way later in the year, or even beyond.

Christian SlaterSylvester Stallone’s new movie may not have a name yet, but the actors are piling on.

According to Variety, Christian Slater, Holt McCallany and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje have joined the cast. The movie is based on the comic book “Bullet to the Head,” though it seems the film will end up with a different title. The story is about a New Orleans hitman (Stallone) who helps a police officer kill the people who killed their partners.

Slater will play a handler and McCallany will play another police officer. It sounds as if Akinnuoye-Agbaje will have the juiciest role, because he gets to play the villain. His character will be taking advantage of the most poverty-stricken parts of New Orleans that have been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
