Kick-Ass 2Chloe Moretz can't stop teasing impending good news for a "Kick-Ass" sequel, but we haven't heard any official word outside of her cryptic hints. Co-writers Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn have said that they would be interested in a second film if it could top the first, but there were no immediate plans to follow up on the 2010 superhero cult hit. Even with a second "Kick-Ass" comic series on stands, official word on a movie sequel still hasn't hit.

But we may have some of the most concrete "Kick-Ass 2" news in a while. During an interview for her latest film, "The Woman In Black," Goldman told MTV News that while she's still enthusiastic about further exploring the world of "Kick-Ass," she doesn't believe that she and Vaughn would be back as writer and director, but instead as producers.

"I think the only thing that is fairly sure is that right now, Matthew doesn't have any plans to direct it. He and I are not currently talking about writing it either," she told MTV. "It may well be that Matthew oversees ['Kick-Ass 2'] in a producer role, and I may also be involved in that capacity. I know that there is somebody that Matthew has been talking to who would be interested in writing and directing that. That would be cool."

Listen Chloe Moretz, we need to talk. The game is up, and we want a straight answer.

For about a month now, you've been dropping hints, winking and teasing about some "Kick-Ass 2" news. At the Scream Awards, you said something big was coming soon. But then nothing.

Now, during the junket for "Hugo," when MTV News' Josh Horowitz asked whether the sequel to the 2010 superhero flick was going to happen, you got real quiet.

Green LanternAre you getting a little impatient waiting to find out what's up with J.J. Abrams' second "Star Trek" film? Well, Simon Pegg says you need to be patient. He won't say what's up, but he's sure that the gears are busy behind the scenes.

Something you aren't likely to see in theaters, meanwhile (unfortunately, because I'd go see this), is a "Green Lantern" movie starring Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. I'm not sure this would have to be a Hal Jordan or Guy Gardner story, but if a ring happened to fall into the plot of "Kick-Ass 2," it could be fun. Mintz-Plasse pondered such developments last night. See the retweet for yourself and check out some Harry Potter marketing confusion down below.

iOS 5Apple butted heads with E3 yesterday, announcing their new iOS 5 for iPhones and iPads just as video game makers began rolling out their big reveals for the summer. Greg Rucka seemed to be no big fan of Apple's iCloud service, while Stephen Colbert expects the new iPhone operating system to open up opportunities.

Grumblings about shamed U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner were also easy to come across last night. Mark Waid and John Rogers swapped opinions on the matter, while buzz about "X-Men: First Class" continued to be far more positive. Check out what Chloe Moretz and David Hahn thought—and who's been trying to hypnotize himself—after the jump.

Chloe MoretzChloe Moretz walked away with a pair of wins at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards last night. The "Kick-Ass" star earned top honors in the categories of "Best Breakout Star" and "Biggest Badass Star." "Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar was only too happy to tweet some congratulations her way, and Moretz made sure to spread the love around.

In other topics, Todd Nauck shared a striking visual case for a potential comic book inspiration behind Lady Gaga's pale look. His evidence and Stan Lee on not appearing in "X-Men: First Class" ranked among our favorite posts last night. Check them out along with some assurance that "X-23" will continue after the jump.

Our look at the MTV Movie Awards nominees hailing from the comic book world continues today with the final category featuring some familiar costumed vigilantes.

This time around, "The Green Hornet" actor Jay Chou squares off against "Kick-Ass" actress Chloe Grace Moretz for the title of "Best Breakout Star." Sure, there are a few other nominees in the pool, but let's be honest — we're pulling for a comic book movie sweep of as many categories as possible. First up, it's Kato!

Jay Chou
As the film's motorcycle-riding martial artist and mechanic, Chou took on the unenviable task of filling the shoes of original Kato actor Bruce Lee. Chou stepped up to the challenge with a mix of quick wit and even quicker moves, making the best of director Michael Gondry's "Kato Vision" style of fight filming. Read More...

Our introduction to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees hailing from the comic book movie world continues today with another double-dose of actors portraying some of last year's most popular costumed heroes.

In the "Biggest Badass star" category, "Kick-Ass" star Chloë Grace Moretz and "Iron Man 2" headliner Robert Downey Jr. go up against a trio of other brawlers who kicked no small amount of butt on the big screen in 2010. And just in case you need a reminder why Moretz and Downey are in the mix, we've put together a little refresher video for each of them.

Robert Downey Jr.
Let's face it: Iron Man wasn't a household name until Downey made the role his own, and he continued to keep the armored Avenger on everyone's minds last year in "Iron Man 2." Not only did he have a climactic brawl with "Best Villain" nominee Mickey Rourke, but he also had a memorable showdown with Don Cheadle, who had everyone looking forward to his debut as War Machine. Oh, and on top of all that, he donned the briefcase armor — what more can fans ask? (*cough* Mandarin *cough*) Read More...

COD Black OpsNow that "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is legally for sale, our Twitter feed had three perspective to present. There's Brian Reed, who knows that his copy has shipped; Andy Diggle, who has his game in hand; and a poor young actress from "Kick-Ass" who is old enough to use Mark Millar's language on-screen but can't yet buy a copy of the week's most popular first-person shooter.

Conan O'Brien's new talk show on TBS, which premiered last night, was geared toward a much more family-friendly demographic, meanwhile, even if it took a few members of the comics community a little while to figure out which Conan was showing up on trending topics lists. Find out who made that mistake after the jump, as well as who's stoked for "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" on Blu-ray and what kinds of new policies Starfleet might want to consider implementing.

Chloe MoretzChloe Moretz made quite the name for herself when she burst onto the screen as Hit-Girl in this year's "Kick-Ass," but the young actress' comic book ambitions aren't stopping there.

According to Deadline, Moretz has agreed to take on the title role in "Emily The Strange," based on the popular character created by Rob Reger and his company Cosmic Debris in 1993. Dark Horse's Mike Richardson is producing the Universal Pictures film alongside executive producers Reger and Keith Goldberg.

"When I first met Chloe I knew I found my Emily," Reger said of Moretz's casting. "She really identifies and understands the character, and has what it takes to bring her to life." Read More...

HPOA GirlA girl named Jenny showed up on the Internet yesterday quitting her job on a white board after her boss called her a "HPOA," and Twitter's collective suspicions were immediately raised. Today, the whole hoax was outed with a follow-up post on theCHIVE, but Scott McCloud still loved it and considers the whole joke to be a success accomplished with comics.

Elsewhere, rumors about Robert Rodriguez and the Deadpool movie have been hot since Comic-Con ended. Rob Liefeld stated how he feels in no uncertain terms about Rodriguez last night on his account. Find out what he personally tweeted to Rodriguez after the jump, as well as how "Star Wars" may have been years ahead of the JetBlue flight attendant who bailed on the runway, and what it looks like when Alex Maleev draws Batman with his left hand.
