The Warriors Three may be joining Anthony Hopkins as Odin in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor," but at least one writer would rather have seen Sean Connery play the Allfather.
Elsewhere, big names in comics turned out for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" last night, including Kevin Smith, who compared his daughter's relationship with the franchise to his own experience with "Star Wars." Far more comics faces were gathered in New York, though, for the Spider-Man summit Fred Van Lente tweeted about yesterday. Dan Slott posted a pic from the group's Marvel-funded dinner. Check that out after the jump along with Gail Simone's first tweet from her Xbox 360, Steve Niles' reaction to last night's meteor shower and Matthew Sturges' Imogen Heap dilemma.

Someone appears to have finally told Stan Lee that Anthony Hopkins will play Odin in "Thor," and he had a thing or two to tweet about it, including what he would like to do in the film when it comes out in 2011. Also on the Marvel movie front, "Iron Man 2" director Jon Favreau expressed dismay over the effect "World of Warcraft" could have on his editing process.
Elsewhere, Bryan Lee O'Malley shared a look at the new Danish-translated "Scott Pilgrim" volume he received, as well as some on-the-fly Google interpretation of Danish. You can find all those tweets after the jump along with Dan Slott on "Micronauts," Jim Lee on the passing of Halloween and a rad custom Mockingbird action figure.

No matter which comics faces you may have been following on Twitter this weekend, they were most likely watching the World Series, "V" on SyFy, "Mad Men" or all of the above. Dan Slott and Frank Tieri fell into the first camp, and it seemed like most of the Marvel office was pulling for Alex Rodriguez to earn his salary when he stepped up to the plate. A-Rod's game-winning double was matched in tweets by Yankee's fans only by Johnny Damon's double-base steal.
Meanwhile, the SyFy "V" marathon had Ben Templesmith and Brian Reed's attention. Evidently comic book people like TV shows about alien invasions. Go figure. Check out what they had to say, as well as who was watching "Mad Men," and what Stan Lee had to complain about on Halloween.

Even Joe Quesada's temporary backing couldn't net the New York Yankees a a Game 1 win in the World Series last night. The Marvel EiC, David Gallaher and others were tweeting along with the first night of Major League Baseball's championship final round, watching the Phillies snag a relatively easy win in the end.
And speaking of win, Whilce Portacio's recently posted Wolverine sketch is full of it. Dan Slott, meanwhile, used his feed to express outrage over the changes happening with "Scrubs" going into next season. You can check out what they had to say along with with which comic book writer got mistaken for a "Batman" screenwriter at his bank and Halloween costume advice from Jeff Parker.

Did you leave "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" scratching your head over Stan Lee's absence? Well, he laid out a simple explanation on his Twitter account this weekend that should tell you which Marvel films he will or will not appear in going forward.
Meanwhile, Erik Larsen tweeted at length about the different demands placed on artists in comics versus animation and interjected a critique of "Sin City." Check out all of those posts, as well as Edgar Wright's affection for "X Factor," Dan Slott's father/son bonding moment over "Mad Men," and much more.

Curious to know what "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" looks like? Try asking Wes Anderson the next time you see him. Edgar Wright tweeted last night that the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" director got a sneak peek at the new film. In an earlier post, he also clarified "The Winstead Effect", which he defines as "the 15 minutes that gets lost when any member of the post production team look directly in Ramona's eyes."
On the other side of the Twittersphere, Jock tweeted triumphantly that Vertigo will reprint the first 12 issues of "The Losers" in a new paperback, which should give it a nice head start on the April film. You can also check out which creators were most excited about "Brutal Legend" and what it looks like when Whilce Portacio draws Iron Man and Wolverine.

Usually, I don't stretch the Twitter Report back past the 24-hour mark, but last week's shot of C.B. Cebulski with Paris Hilton from the Marvel/CBLDF bowling fundraiser produced an unprecedented industry crossover. (Paris Hilton, of course, being her own industry.) It didn't quite make Twitter in time for last Friday's installment, but it's worth the wait, believe me.
Meanwhile, down in Baltimore, Erik Larsen praised this year's Baltimore Comic-Con for sticking to comics and not having any media guests in attendance. Jason Aaron, who was also in attendance, seemed to enjoy himself, and tweeted a celeb encounter after the show with former NBA star Manute Bol. Check out what they had to say below along with a custom action figure by "Hack/Slash" creator Tim Seeley and Dan Slott's "Rock Band" wishlist.

Three of the biggest comic book movies in Hollywood right now have prompted chatter on Twitter over the last 24 hours. Top Shelf publishers Chris Staros and Brett Warnock both attended the "Surrogates" premiere last night and snapped a few shots from the red carpet.
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" will be at the end of the red carpet soon enough, but first, Edgar Wright will have to finish editing the film. And thanks to Twitter, Bryan Lee O'Malley can gently inquire as the project approaches its finish line.
"The Losers" will be there too, and Andy Diggle posted an update regarding Zoe Saldana's hospitality and the Jock artwork used for an on-set chair. Check out all of that and more below in the Twitter Report for September 25, 2009. Read more...

Ever wonder what comic book creators feed their kids in the morning? Well, at least one writer out there has discovered waffles with Star Trek characters on them. I can't imagine there's any better way to casually encourage sci-fi conversations with the family at the breakfast table. The Twitter Report kicks off today with that pic from Duane Swierczynski and some Jim Lee Batman artwork that is magnificent.
Right after that, there's a piece of trivia that came to light on Twitter in the last 24 hours -- apparently "Amazing Spider-Man" writer Dan Slott was high school chums with one of my favorite webcomics creators, Bill Barnes of the library strip "Unshelved." Click on down to check those out, along with tweets from Paul Pope, Evan Dorkin and Tony Moore. It's all in the Twitter Report for September 18, 2009. Read more...

Brett Ratner returns to the Twitter Report today. I like to think of myself as your comics-oriented Tweet jockey (TJ, if you will), and since he's been posting adamantly about his comics interests this week, I wanted to put a follow-up to his tweet yesterday at the top of today's report.
Apparently, Ratner owns one of the holy grails for comics collectors and as well as a lot of "Youngblood," which he'll be adapting to film.
Meanwhile, Cameron Stewart tweeted his excitement about reforming the "Seaguy" team by joining Grant Morrison on "Batman and Robin", Bryan Lee O'Malley mourned the ending to John Allison's long-running webcomic "Scary Go Round," and Gail Simone contemplated a move into video game development.
