Captain PlanetIt's been a good 15 years since "Captain Planet and the Planeteers" finished its original run on TBS. And when it's finally rebooted and turned into a live action Hollywood adventure -- something that's reportedly in progress right now -- we hope against all hopes that it looks something like this.

That's right... here comes Don Cheadle as Captain Planet, a much darker hero than the eco-friendly champion of yesteryear.

Warning: what you're about to see past the jump is decidedly not safe for work!

War MachineIt sounds as if Don Cheadle will be back for “Iron Man 3" but not for “The Avengers” as James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine.

When asked by Collider about appearing in any more Marvel movies, Cheadle replied, “Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We'll probably do that again in February and there's talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.”

Cheadle likely brought up the possibility of being recast because he’d been cast to replace Terrence Howard, who played James Rhodes in the first “Iron Man” movie. Read More...

In the time leading up to the premiere of "Iron Man 2," it was hard to decide which debut was bigger news: Don Cheadle becoming War Machine or Robert Downey Jr. unveiling the Briefcase Armor. While there's a good chance we'll see more of Tony Stark's portable armor in future installments of the franchise, the second film had barely hit theaters before talk of a solo "War Machine" movie began circulating around the 'net.

Last we heard from Cheadle, he dismissed the idea of a solo movie featuring Iron Man's gunmetal-gray counterpart. However, when speaking to MTV News during this year's Sundance Film Festival, he indicated that a "War Machine" solo movie was not only in the works, but the studio may already have a writer.

"They're developing it now, they're working on that," Cheadle told MTV News when asked about a "War Machine" movie. "I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun." Read More...

Yesterday, Sam Rockwell explained how comics influenced his "Iron Man 2" character, but how about his co-star, Don Cheadle?

MTv News asked Cheadle about the source material that informed his portrayal of James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, in the blockbuster sequel, and the actor offered up some thoughts about what he took from the stack of comics Marvel sent his way.

"[I took] something from all of them, because the character over the whole arc changes quite a bit," said Cheadle when asked which War Machine stories, if any, specifically informed his performance. "They both do."

"Ultimately in the comic book lore, War Machine takes over for Iron Man for a while, so I don't know," he added. "It all just kind of went into the soup and then you still have to show up on set and bring something."

Late last year, Jeff Bridges publicly stated that the first "Iron Man" film was shot without a script, and the production largely relied on the improvisation skills of the actors — in particular, Robert Downey Jr. who portrayed the title role.

While Downey's "Iron Man 2" co-stars Sam Rockwell and Olivia Munn have previously reported that their parts in the movie were heavily improvised. However, according to Don Cheadle — who takes over the role of Jim Rhodes from Terrance Howard — "Iron Man 2" was also filmed without a script.

"No, there wasn't [a locked-in script]," related Cheadle. "To be honest, We did improv a lot. We were very often sort of on a journey of discovery in the scenes, trying to find out where we were, who we were, what it was going to be. Read More...

We all know War Machine makes his triumphant debut this week in "Iron Man 2," but what's in store for James "Rhodey" Rhodes after the credits roll?

With "Avengers" on the way and a third installment of the "Iron Man" movie franchise very likely, MTV News asked actor Don Cheadle where his character and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark go from here.

"We've talked in loose terms about the possibility of another film, but not any specifics about what will happen, where they will be or what they'll be doing," Cheadle told MTV News. Read More...

Don Cheadle plays an undercover cop in "Brooklyn's Finest," but comic book fans know him better as the new face of James "Rhodey" Rhodes, the man who becomes War Machine in "Iron Man 2."

Given his upcoming debut as Iron Man's military-minded counterpart, we had to spend a little time during this weekend's "Brooklyn's Finest" junket getting Cheadle's take on where "Iron Man 2" stands and whether we'll get to see Marvel's armored heroes square off in the May 7 sequel.

"I think that thing's going to be delivered dripping wet to theaters," said Cheadle when asked where "Iron Man 2" is at in post-production. "Friday, I have to go back and do a re-shoot, so..." Read More...

War Machine"Iron Man 2" star Don Cheadle has ruled out the idea of staring in a "War Machine" spin-off film featuring Jim Rhodes.

When asked about the possibility of War Machine going solo in the latest issue of Wizard Magazine (via the Coventry Telegraph), Cheadle replied, "People have asked, but no one [in authority] has mentioned it as something that's happening. Hopefully, if this one does well, there'll be another ['Iron Man' movie] with the same people. But there won't be a ['War Machine'] spin-off."

War MachineLike many supporting characters who've risen to starring roles, James Rhodes has sometimes struggled to step out of the shadow of Tony Stark.
