It seems appropriate I wrap up a trilogy of Felica Day interviews the same day the third and final issue of her comic book, “The Guild,” hits stores. From Dark Horse Comics, the mini-series is based on her hugely popular web series and shows us something we never saw on the show – how the guild met.

Now that all three issues have been released, we discuss her experience writing comics for the first time, her past and future in the genre and what she thinks about her friend Joss Whedon directing “The Avengers,” including her possible role in the film.

Day says so far, the response to “The Guild” comic has been huge. “Actually it has been selling out many, many, many places,” she said. “I’ve gotten so many messages about people, ‘This is the first comic book I’ve ever bought.’ So that’s actually one of the most gratifying things.”

“Then when somebody who’s a real pro comic person, a friend of mine, emails and says, ‘Hey, you did really good on the comic,’ I kind of get relieved,” she said, “because I feel like comic people are the most critical of any of the geek culture. So if I can pass their test – because I don’t think they cut me any slack – it makes me really happy. Read More...

Yesterday I brought you the joys and struggles Felicia Day experienced while filming the third season of her award-winning web series, “The Guild,” and what we can expect overall from Season Four. Today she reveals even more, speaking about the slew of bonus features on “The Guild: Season Three” DVD (in stores today!), casting friends, plus a missed casting opportunity of her own.

Included on the DVD is the not-quite-chart-topping yet absolutely spectacular performance of Day and cast in their debut music video, “Date My Avatar.”

“We have a behind-the-scenes of that that’s never been seen anywhere,” she said. “You get to see some of the dance rehearsals.” You also get to see the director of the music video and co-writer of the song, Jed Whedon. (That’s Joss Whedon’s little brother and co-writer of “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.”) Read More...

Do you think Felicia Day knew the giant bag of loot she fell on the day she created her stupendously successful web series “The Guild?” Most likely not but with the DVD of the show’s third season hitting wide release this Tuesday, her raiding party is likely to be sporting some new gear pretty soon.

If that first paragraph made no sense to you, you may not be into online gaming but if you’re a fan of Day (‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”) you may know enough to appreciate the humor.

“The Guild: Season Three” is wrapped but I recently spoke with Day about her ups and downs over the course of the latest episodes in the popular web series.

“The whole season was kind of a roller coaster,” she said. “I didn’t realize adding six other cast members to the equation was gonna be a little more complicated than previous seasons but it was actually the most fun to write.” Read More...

Felicia DayEven as the creator and star of the award-winning web series "The Guild," Felicia Day first appeared on the radar for many non-gaming geeks as the object of Neil Patrick Harris' affection in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." When I had the chance to chat with her about "The Guild" comic book series recently, I managed to fit in a few questions about Joss Whedon's upcoming sequel to "Dr. Horrible," too.

While her return for the "Dr. Horrible" sequel remains uncertain, Day shared some thoughts about the project and what it achieved, what she'd like to see in a sequel, and why the series' finale struck just the right chord.

"I can’t spoil anything, because I don’t know much more than Nathan [Fillion] or anyone else," laughed Day when asked what she'd heard about the "Dr. Horrible" sequel. "I’ve heard there’s a title. That's about it." Read More...

Team Whedon's online musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" surprised a lot of people in 2008 when the first chapter of the three-act production went live with stars Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Felicia Day. The project went on to spawn prequels and spin-offs in the comic book world, a hit album and fast-selling DVD, and as many expected, an as-yet-untitled sequel.

However, when we caught up with Dr. Horrible himself, Harris told MTV News he expects the sequel to take on a notably different form than its predecessor — namely, as a feature-length film that debuts offline rather than on the Web.

"Apparently they're making a 'Dr. Horrible' sequel — a feature film, I hope," laughed Harris. "I hope they cast me in it — we'll see." Read More...

Around Splash Page HQ, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" is considered one of the on-screen highlights of 2008 — right up there with "The Dark Knight" and "Iron Man." So it's pretty much a given that any time we get a chance to speak with someone involved with the hit online musical, we're going to ask about the "Dr. Horrible" sequel.

Cue our encounter with "Castle" star Nathan Fillion during last night's Cosmopolitan Magazine "2010 Fun Fearless Males" red carpet, and his hint that there could be more in store for the "Dr. Horrible" universe than just a sequel.

"I've heard some of the lyrics for one of the new songs," Fillion told MTV News. "I've heard a title for the sequel, and I've heard some great ideas. I've also heard of some kind of other accoutrements that are coming out aside from a sequel that we're planning on." Read More...

Dr. HorribleNow that "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" is a bona fide award-winner with a sequel on the way, everyone wants to know what's next for Dr. Horrible, Captain Hammer and the rest of the gang.

I recently spoke to "Dr. Horrible" co-writer Zack Whedon, who scripted the inline musical along with brothers Joss and Jed and Jed's wife, Maurissa Tancharoen, and along with giving Splash Page readers an exclusive preview of the "Dr. Horrible" comic he's writing for Dark Horse, he also offered up an update on the musical's much-anticipated sequel.

"We've been planning it pretty much from the minute we finished the first one," said Whedon of the sequel, which Nathan Fillion recently revealed has both a title and a few songs written already. Read More...

Dr. HorribleWe all know last year's award-winning online musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" is getting a sequel at some point, but just in case you can't wait for the next chapter of Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris' hilarious (and occasionally heartbreaking) battle, a prequel of sorts arrives this month courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.

Written by Zack Whedon (who co-wrote the "Dr. Horrible" musical with brothers Joss and Jed and Jed's wife, Maurissa Tancharoen), the one-shot "Dr. Horrible" comic tells the tale of Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer's first encounter.

I spoke to Whedon about his plans for the project and received an exclusive preview for Splash Page readers. Read More...

Joss Whedon's online musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" not only broke new ground for Internet media, it also landed an Emmy in the short-format, live-action category of the annual awards. So, it was probably no surprise that the series already had a sequel in the works long before all the award talk began. Back in August, we got the scoop from Whedon himself—and now we have an update from one the project's stars, "Castle" and "Firefly" star Nathan Fillion.

"There are plans," Fillion told MTV News. "The media for the sequel has not yet been decided, but there is a title." Read More...

Joss Whedon's musical miniseries "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" broke new ground with filmmaking for online audiences and earned the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator and his cast a lot of new fans, but with any success story like "Dr. Horrible," the question now becomes: what's next?

MTV News recently caught up with Whedon and posed that very same question, and if we're understanding the fan-favorite creator correctly, it sounds like there could not only be more "Dr. Horrible" on the way, but they already have a story in mind for the sequel.

"We're in there plugging. The writers are trying to put something together," Whedon told MTV News. "We haven't even decided on a venue. We have a story and we're working that. We're just starting with that." Read More...
