Neil GaimanToday turned out to be a popular day for being angry at things, as Neil Gaiman pointed to a Star Tribune article in which a Minnesota politician singled him out for being a burden on the state and called the writer a "pencil-necked little weasel." Needless to say, many folks in the comics community disagree with that characterization (I've always found Gaiman to be a fine, gentlemanly fellow) and tweeted their support.

Elsewhere, you probably didn't expect rising gas prices to be associated with sketch rates, but Terry Moore broached the topic in his feed. So much for the Katchoo piece I wanted to commission.

Anyway, check out the controversy after the jump. It's down there with some rad artwork and Stan Lee's recent discovery about "Thor" director Kenneth Branagh.

Not everyone was quite so happy in the Twitter Report feed today, though. Wikileaks attracted some criticism following their U.S. embassy cable revelations over the weekend, and George W. Bush blew R. Stevens' mind by forever altering the landscape of his social network. Find out why after the jump along with who loves "True Grit" and how "Invincible" #76 is coming along.

In the world of film, Gail Simone finally got around to watching "The Losers," and Andy Diggle agreed with her on at least one point of criticism. Find out what that was below, as well as how a few different artists and writers feel about splitting ownership when they partner up with someone on an indie book.

Justin Bieber 3-DThe post-courtroom discussion of Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane's dispute over Spawn-related character rights entered another day in the Twittersphere. Gaiman spoke up and Larsen has defended comments he's made about female jurors and the O.J. Simpson trial. He also thinks his comments have been taken out of context, though, so you may want to click on through to his account to follow the lengthy back-and-forths that have been taking place.

Further controversy in the Report today come from Brett Favre's annual retirement circus and a newly announced Justin Bieber biopic in 3-D. You'll find two comics professionals who are not fans of those respective topics and thoughts on Vladimir Putin from David Hahn below.

Iron Man 2 - TwitterThe new "Iron Man 2" trailer lit up the comics Twitterverse last night, and if that shocks you, you have haven't been paying attention for the last year. Brian Michael Bendis, Phil Hester and Edgar Wright all posted their reactions, and Bendis even went a step further explaining how he might be turning his child into a supervillain.

The tweets weren't all gleeful in this morning's feed, though, as the death of Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry made its way to the trending topics as well. You can read about that after the jump, in addition to which webcomic creator will be speaking at MacWorld 2010, what James Jean's latest art creation looks like and how many times Rob Liefeld plans on seeing "Avatar" this weekend.

'Judge Dredd'"Judge Dredd" is still moving forward, according to Jock's tweets today. That new "Judge Dredd" fan film that he mentioned last week got a few other creators tweeting today, including PJ Holden and Dwight MacPherson, who launched jabs at the Stallone incarnation.

Elsewhere in the comics Twittersphere over the weekend, Rob Liefeld posted a video of his sons checking out "Image United" to see how his old characters would play to a younger generation, proving both that his sons share his enthusiasm for superheroes and that they would definitely buy an Overtkill series. "FoxTrot" creator Bill Amend, meanwhile, was watching his own son play "Assassin's Creed 2." Find how how that experience has shaped his perspective on "World of Warcraft," along with what Todd McFarlane's been working on and what Tim Seeley thought of the cosplay at Daisho Con in Wisconsin. Wolverine - TwitterEven Joe Quesada's temporary backing couldn't net the New York Yankees a a Game 1 win in the World Series last night. The Marvel EiC, David Gallaher and others were tweeting along with the first night of Major League Baseball's championship final round, watching the Phillies snag a relatively easy win in the end.

And speaking of win, Whilce Portacio's recently posted Wolverine sketch is full of it.
