Just when it seemed like "Iron Man 2" news was hitting a lull, Paramount has released three (semi-)new images from the much-anticipated sequel.

The new trio of photos feature a shot of Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer that we've seen versions of before, a new shot of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and a photo of director Jon Favreau chatting it up with stars Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle.

Iron Man 2Sure, we know about the debuts of War Machine and Whiplash, but there are lots of things we don't know about "Iron Man 2" at this point, too. For example, will Whiplash get an armor upgrade courtesy of Justin Hammer? And how much of Sam Jackson's "Avengers Initiative" will be revealed this time around?

The "Iron Man 2" footage at Comic-Con seemed to pose as many questions as it answered, so here's a quick recap of everything we do know about one of the most-anticipated films for comic book movie fans:

THE HEROES: While star Robert Downey Jr. has insisted that the "Demon in a Bottle" story won't factor into the "Iron Man 2" plot, he did hint at some inner demons for Tony Stark. Back in April, he described the film as a story about "how a dysfunctional family saves life on Earth"—something that certainly doesn't bode well for the Stark Industries crew. Read more...

Iron Man 2Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash have been dominating the swarm of new "Iron Man 2" pictures percolating across the Internet recently, but in the lead-up to Comic-Con this week, some new images of stars Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow have made their way to the public eye. The fresh images show RDJ as Tony Stark amid the wreckage of a racetrack mishap and Paltrow as Pepper Potts doing what she does best, looking like the pinnacle of professionalism behind an office desk.

"I don't think anyone expected how big the first ['Iron Man'] was going to be," Paltrow told USA Today, where the pictures premiered. "Now we have kind of a family, a friendship, which is good because the pressure is on us to deliver again." Read more...

Gwyneth PaltrowSex and seduction are all part of the game for espionage agent Natasha Romanoff -- played by Scarlett Johansson in "Iron Man 2" -- but those words don't fall quite as comfortably on the lips of Tony Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts.

Still, that's not stopping Gwyneth Paltrow's character from matching the sultry persona of Johansson's Black Widow. According to a rumor from The Daily Mail, Paltrow has been getting in shape for a "risque scene" alongside leading man Robert Downey Jr..

"Iron Man imagines Pepper in a dominatrix outfit," a source tells the news outlet. "Gwyneth had to be filmed in a very revealing black leather corset complete with a bullwhip." Read more...

Tony StarkDuring a recent press junket for April 24th’s “The Soloist,” actor Robert Downey Jr. confirmed with MTV News what comics fans had long been expecting: Tony Stark will indeed have two lovely ladies vying for his attention in “Iron Man 2”.

Of course, Gwyneth Paltrow is set to return as assistant/love interest Pepper Potts, but the sequel will also see the addition of Scarlett Johansson as Russian agent Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow.

When asked whether he’d be 1/3 of a love triangle in the film, Downey told MTV News, “Heck yeah, Wouldn't you?” Read more...

The shifting of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film schedule might have affected release dates for “Thor,” “The First Avenger: Captain America” and “The Avengers,” but the highly anticipated superhero sequel “Iron Man 2” remains on track -- and in more ways than just the release date, according to director Jon Favreau.

Favreau was on hand at SXSW and spoke with Ain’t It Cool News about the alleged casting of Mickey Rourke as the "Iron Man 2" villain and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. While he wouldn’t confirm the news without Marvel’s official approval, the director certainly dropped some hints about the casting rumors. Read more...

Gwyneth PaltrowRemember the days when "Iron Man 2" news was popping up all over the 'Net and actors were being cast and, in some cases, dropping out of the cast faster than you could say "Pepper Potts?" Yeah, those were good times. But now it feels like those days are behind us, as we haven't heard anything new from the "Iron Man 2" crew in quite a while -- and we're not the only ones.

MTV News caught up with Gwyneth Paltrow at the red carpet premiere of her new film "Two Lovers" and asked the talented "Iron Man" actress if she's felt the same void when it comes to "Iron Man 2" news.

"They haven't even given me a script yet," Paltrow told MTV News. "They don't tell me anything. I could be, like, a costume assistant in it. I know nothing." Read more...
