Looking for some reasons to go check out "Cowboys & Aliens" in theaters this weekend? Well, lucky for you, leading lady Olivia Wilde has a whole slew of them at the ready just for this moment.

MTV News caught up with the actress at the Montana junket for "Cowboys & Aliens" and asked her why she thinks her flick is the must-see summer blockbuster this season. Her answer? Because the cast is awesome and the story is original.

"We have so many amazing people," Wilde said. "We have Daniel Craig who's, I think, embodying Steve McQueen in this role. I think he's so badass it's unbelievable, and I think he's really, really smart and interesting in this role."

This weekend sees the theatrical release of “Cowboys & Aliens,” in which action-adventure legend Harrison Ford gets back into the saddle as the hard nosed Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde. The star of the original “Star Wars” trilogy and the “Indiana Jones” series recently spoke with MTV News about his character’s wardrobe, and a specific piece of neckwear in particular.

“We don’t call it an ascot, we call it a scarf,” the actor explained. “They were a common feature of a cattleman’s wardrobe, because they could be used to cover your face in a dust storm, or mop your brow or tie around your neck to absorb sweat.”

Pretty much the minute that "Cowboys & Aliens" was announced, people have been intrigued — and that was before fan-favorites Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig and Jon Favreau were announced as the film's stars and director.

When MTV News caught up with Favreau recently during a lengthy chat at WonderCon, we asked him if, given the film's genre-blending, he'd considered involving another icon of the Western genre: one Clint Eastwood.

"He's definitely somebody we would have been very appreciative to work with. He's iconic," Favreau said. "For this genre, Harrison felt like the right guy because he's still vital and exciting enough that he can jump on a horse, ride into battle, but he's also a different generation than Daniel." Director Jon Favreau has worked with some tremendously talented actors in his career – Robert Downey Jr. in the "Iron Man" films has to rank high on that list – but he's entering a truly elite area of fandom as Harrison Ford saddles up for "Cowboys & Aliens."

"Can you believe it? It's amazing," Favreau enthused when MTV's Josh Horowitz brought up the casting news in a recent interview. "I can't believe it still."

From the wise-cracking Han Solo to the whip-snapping Indiana Jones, Ford has played some indisputable badasses over the course of his acting career. But he's also tapped into his softer side in movies like "Regarding Henry" and even the recently released "Extraordinary Measures." Luckily, in "Cowboys & Aliens," Ford's character will have a lot more in common with his gruffer heroes of yesteryear. Read More...

Harrison FordLooks like at least one of the widely circulated rumors we told you about yesterday has some confirmation — and it comes from the best possible source.

According to "Cowboys & Aliens" director Jon Favreau, actor Harrison Ford is indeed joining the cast of the film, which is currently scheduled for a July 2011 release. He'll join existing cast members Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde, who are set to star in the adaptation of the 2007 Platinum Studios comic.

"Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is," wrote Favreau on Twitter. "Please don't tell anybody." Read More...

Emily BluntDid Emily Blunt pass on playing Peggy Carter in "The First Avenger: Captain America" in favor of another comic book movie role? Is Harrison Ford gearing up for an alien invasion out in the Wild West? For the moment, the answer to both of those questions is a big, fat maybe.

Two rumors have reared their head over the past 24 hours, one pertaining to Blunt's decision to decline a role in "Captain America" and another suggesting that the erstwhile Indiana Jones is saddling up for an upcoming comic book movie.

In both cases, these rumors are fully noted as just that — rumors — but that doesn't make them any less interesting to consider! Read More...

'Harrison Ford'Here at Splash Page, we love talkin' comics and comic book movies with celebrities. While we occasionally uncover breaking news about an upcoming project, we usually just end up discovering which Hollywood stars are closet fanboys and fangirls. Every so often, though, we hear from a celebrity who was up for a role that would've drastically changed a franchise -- like when Bill Murray told us he was almost Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film.

Now we can officially add another actor to the "What If?" list.

"I think back when 'Superman' was first being done I was vaguely in consideration, but it never came to the point of having to try on the tights," Harrison Ford told MTV News during a recent interview. Read More...
