Scott Pilgrim Vs The WorldLast night at the Apple Store in SoHo, NY, a press event was held for "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," the upcoming film based on Bryan Lee O’Malley's popular graphic novels. Speaking before press and fans were director Edgar Wright and actors Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, and Michael Cera.

To win over the crowd of the Apple Store, actor Michael Cera, who plays the titular character, greeted the audience with the declaration "F--- PCs!" He later claimed ignorance when a film clip showed Scott Pilgrim using a PC instead of a Mac, much to the laughter of the others on the panel.

“When I read the first book... it reminded me a little bit of the television show 'Spaced' I’d done with Simon Pegg,” Edgar Wright explained. “'Spaced' was a show where there were lots of dream sequences and flashbacks. But this film, and the books, felt like the dream sequence that never ends.” Read More...

Earlier this month, we reported the news that "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" would receive some extra footage, courtesy of some reshoots ordered by director Edgar Wright. Calling the extra scenes "icing on the cake," Wright explained that some of the content originated with the upcoming sixth volume of Bryan Lee O'Malley's hit comic book series.

MTV News caught up with "Scott Pilgrim" actor Jason Schwartzman on the set of his HBO series "Bored To Death" to ask him about the reshoots.

"Yes, a little bit," responded Schwartzman when asked if he was involved in the scenes receiving some extra footage. Read More...

Even if the location for future Comic-Con International conventions is somewhat uncertain, you can be sure that this year's show will still attract a host of comic publishers and movie studios with high-profile projects to promote. One such project is "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," director Edgar Wright's live-action film based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's hit comic book series.

When MTV News caught up with "Scott Pilgrim" actor Jason Schwartzman on the set of his upcoming HBO series "Bored To Death," he informed us that he'll be making his first-ever trip to Comic-Con this year — and asked for some advice about how to handle the big show.

"I'm going to be doing some press for 'Scott Pilgrim' this summer," the actor told MTV News, "and going to go to Comic-Con, which I've never been to." Read More...

There's still no release date set for "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," Edgar Wright's live-action film based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's hit comic book series for Oni Press, but it's pretty safe to say we can't wait to see this film around Splash Page HQ.

Last month, we picked the brain of "Scott Pilgrim" actor Jason Schwartzman, and along with sharing some thoughts about the footage he'd already seen, he also revealed how he first encountered the "Scott Pilgrim" comics, and offered some hefty praise for their creator, Bryan Lee O'Malley.

"Edgar Wright had told me about the comics well in advance of us working on [the film]," Schwartzman told MTV News. "I began to read them then." Read More...

When "Shaun of the Dead" director Edgar Wright was first announced for the big-screen adaptation of of Bryan Lee O'Malley's "Scott Pilgrim" series, you could practically hear the collective sigh of relief around the 'Net. For many fans, the belief was that if anyone can successfully bring the surreal adventures of slacker hero Scott Pilgrim to theaters faithfully, it's Wright.

And while we haven't seen any footage from the much-anticipated film yet, "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" actor Jason Schwartzman would seem to agree with the sentiment that Wright was the right man for the job. Schwartzman plays Gideon, one of the final "evil ex-boyfriends" the title character must battle to win the affection of his girlfriend.

"One of the things that's so great about Edgar is that if he wasn't directing this movie, he would be Ticketholder #1 in line for it," Schwartzman told MTV News. "He is such a fan of movies and of these comics and what this movie is going to be. He gets just as excited as the people do — the fans. He's a fan." Read More...

While Jason Schwartzman's once-secret role as Gideon Graves in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" has been confirmed for quite a while now, that's pretty much the only secret that's been revealed when it comes to Edgar Wright's live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series. Little is known about the look and tone of the film, but what fans have been able to glean from Wright and his cast has been promising.

Take, for example, our recent chat with Schwartzman during the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" junket. Not only has he seen the first 20 minutes of "Scott Pilgrim," but he shared some thoughts with MTV News about how the footage looked.

"I saw the first 20 minutes of it and I'm very proud to be a part of it," said Schwartzman. "It's unlike anything I've seen in my entire life." Read More...

Jason SchwartzmanBack in August, Jason Schwartzman got cryptic when he addressed his upcoming "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World" battle. Even though he could only hint at his role in the film's final fisticuffs, the star was keen on sharing his overall experience playing the evil Gideon.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Schwartzman praised director Edgar Wright, as well as his Scott Pilgrim challenger Michael Cera for contributing to an enjoyable experience.

“I had so much fun [on ‘Scott Pilgrim’],” said Schwartzman. “I was working with two people I admire so much, Edgar Wright, [the director of] ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz,’ and Michael Cera, who in my view is the best [actor] working. I got to learn how to sword fight and battle and I got to go up on the wires for some flying kicks and stuff.” Read More...

Jason SchwartzmanYou know what I love about Jason Schwartzman? The dude always seems to be clued in on what’s going to be cool next, yet part of his charm is that he doesn’t seem to think he’s cool. Which makes him, well… cool.

As comics-lovers know, there are few things cooler than “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” And when I spoke with the former Max Fischer Tuesday evening, he had literally just wrapped.

“I finished last night,” Schwartzman told MTV News. “I’m back in Los Angeles—I just got off a plane two hours ago.” Read More...

Scott PilgrimEven though fans have yet to be treated to a proper trailer for the upcoming "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," that doesn't mean there haven't been plenty of peeks into production courtesy of director Edgar Wright's blog. With shooting entering its final stages, Wright's most recent video update hints at the film's most coveted details regarding the final showdown between titular protagonist Scott Pilgrim and his love's most evil ex-boyfriend Gideon Graves.

The update shows Wright reporting from the top of what appears to be a light-up pyramid stage adorned with all the trimmings of a proper rock show, including modified Marshall guitar amplifiers and speaker cabinets. Mary Elizabeth Winstead appears wearing bright green hair as Ramona Flowers, having switched colors since last fans saw her, mirroring her character's comic characteristic. Read More...
