"The Losers" has arrived in theaters, and while we've been raving about Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chris Evans' performances in the film, Morgan said it was fellow cast member Zoe Saldana that provided him with his favorite experience on the set.

"The cool thing about getting to play the character is, for one, he's simply bad-ass," said Morgan, "and two, I get to make out with Zoe Saldana — which is not a bad thing and not a bad way to spend your afternoon."

Yeah, can't really argue with him on that one.

The LosersAs "The Losers" are preparing to prove that they're actually winners this weekend, it's worth remembering that for some of the film's various players, this is not their first taste of the comic book world — far from it, in fact.

From throwing shields and flying on fire to chewing on cigars and fighting crime across the decades, many of the cast and crew on "The Losers" have already waded through comic book lore and are prepared to do it again.

After the jump, we've listed some of the past and future connections between the "Losers" team and comic book movies! Read More...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has two reasons to celebrate this week. For one, "The Losers" comes out tomorrow. For another, it's his birthday today!

In the past couple of years, Morgan has established himself pretty firmly with the comic book crowd thanks to his praised turn as The Comedian in "Watchmen" and his upcoming role as Clay, the leader of the Losers. But with the Sylvain White-directed action movie set to hit theaters in just a few short hours, Morgan is once again left without a current comic book role.

In honor of the terrific actor's birthday and his forthcoming movie premiere, we've listed five other comic book roles that Morgan could play with ease. Read More...

"The Losers" hits theaters this Friday, April 23, featuring a cast of actors with some history in the comic book movie world. Among them is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who previously played The Comedian in Zack Snyder's 2009 adaptation of "Watchmen," Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' groundbreaking comic book series.

When MTV News caught up with him on the set of "The Losers," Morgan explained why films based on comics are so appealing to him these days.

"I like the genre, but it seems to me that the best scripts coming out right now are based on graphic novels and comic books," Morgan told MTV News. "The best characters and the smartest writing is coming from that world." Read More...

Late last year, "The Losers" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan took comic fans by surprise when he mentioned DC's cigar-chomping bounty hunter, Lobo, as one of the characters he'd like to play on the big screen.

At the time, "Sherlock Holmes" director Guy Ritchie had been tagged to direct a live-action film based on the ultraviolent character, and producer Joel Silver revealed that test footage had been filmed for the project. However, much has changed in a few months, with Morgan backing off his campaign for the role, and Ritchie leaving for a "Holmes" sequel.

MTV News caught up with Morgan to find out where things stand, and if he's still interested playing the vicious, chain-wielding, motorcycle-riding bad-ass of the DC Universe. Read More...

When I spoke to "The Losers" director Sylvain White last month about the level of involvement the comic's creators had in the film, he indicated that the pair were more than just occasional consultants in the process of bringing their story of a framed, left-for-dead Special Ops team to the big screen.

MTV News recently caught up with White and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the team's leader, Clay. The duo offered a bit more insight into the input "Losers" creators Andy Diggle and Jock had on the film, and where fans will see some very specific references to the film's source material.

"During the conception of the film and pre-production, I worked closely with Jock in terms of the design and some of the look of the movie," said White. "The graphic novel has a really interesting, beautiful use of primary and secondary colors that I really wanted to stay true to." Read More...

The LosersIt's been a while since we had any new photos off the set of "The Losers," but a quick trailer preview just showed up sporting fire, broken glass and some quick one-liners from Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Chris Evans.

[UPDATE: "The Losers" trailer (the complete one) is now online!]

The montage of moments (posted on MorganUnlimited) includes Morgan's motif-setting statement for the film, "If you want your life back, you're gonna have to steal it," and there should be more trailer action on the way soon, both on "Entertainment Tonight" and in theaters.

"I'm assured the full trailer should be released online within the next few days, and that it'll play before Mel Gibson's 'Edge of Darkness' this weekend," wrote "Losers" comic author Andy Diggle on his blog.

Casting for the roles of Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris, Hector Hammond and Sinestro is already finished on the "Green Lantern" front, but there's still no word on who will play Kilowog.

Director Martin Campbell already confirmed that Kilowog, the hulking pink alien Green Lantern Corps member, would have a role in the upcoming DC Comics adaptation. While he's not likely to have the same amount of screen time as the aforementioned main characters, Kilowog nonetheless needs an excellent actor behind that brutish mug.

As is the Secret Identity tradition, here are five actors that would do a tremendous job bringing Kilowog to life in "Green Lantern." Read More...

The LosersWhile we were throttled down for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., bunches of news was hitting the wire about director Sylvain's White's upcoming adaptation of "The Losers."

Along with a pair of new photos that debuted on Omelete featuring much of the film's the all-star cast and a solo shot of "Star Trek" and "Avatar" actress Zoe Saldana as the team's resident loose cannon, Aisha, the online world also received some thoughts about the film from one of its most prominent stars, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, courtesy of a FilmInk interview.

"I've been hurt since Day One," said Morgan of the bruising (literally) experience of playing Clay, the leader of the left-for-dead special ops team out to find the agent who wronged them. "I'm getting a little old for bouncing off the pavement. Some stuff is hard when you're forty — but there's nothing that I can't recover from." Read More...

Jeffrey Dean MorganIt was less than two weeks between Guy Ritchie being tagged to direct a "Lobo" movie last month and actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan throwing his hat into the ring as one of the hopefuls for the lead role, so it was only natural that we bring up DC's "Main Man" when we had a chance to sit down with Morgan recently.

Asked whether he'd reached out to Ritchie yet, Morgan downplayed his previous conversation about the project.

"I said that in passing," Morgan told MTV News of his prior comments regarding the "Lobo" lead. "I don't t know that I'm a big blue guy." Read More...
