The Green HornetA few movie-related cheers and jeers got tossed around the Twitter Report's feed over the last 24 hours. Joe Hill seems to have been catching up on his "Green Hornet" news, and both Michel Gondry and Anvil have his approval. Bryan Lee O'Malley, meanwhile, sounded a little skeptical of Ellen Page's role in the new Christopher Nolan film "Inception."

In sports/comics crossover conversation, Brian Michael Bendis noticed the trending Vikings topic last night that was spurred by the Chicago Bears victory over Minnesota. He hoped that "Viking" writer Ivan Brandon would notice as well. Check out all of those retweets after the jump along with a birthday wish I endorse going out to Jeff Katz and a memorial shout out to Star Trek actress Majel Barrett, which I also support.

Twitter"Avatar" may be the most hilariously divisive movie of the holiday season, if not 2009. In the last 24 hours, for instance, G. Willow Wilson has been excited about seeing it, Laurenn McCubbin has been thoroughly dissatisfied with it and Mike Choi has come to the movie's defense with some serious words for its critics.

In other tweets, Dennis Calero spoke up for everyone who grew up with "Sesame Street" actress Alaina Reed Amini. The actress who played Olivia on the show passed away last week. Check out those messages after the jump along with Brian Michael Bendis' shock over "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," Bill Willingham's birthday announcement (which we congratulate him on!) and Jimmy Palmiotti's thoughts on "Brothers."

Iron Man 2 - TwitterAndy Diggle wins the 2009 Twitter Report award for greatest disappointment upon link click-through. Read on down to his post about Mandarin showing up in "Iron Man 2" to find out what the greatest source of disappointment was during my morning coffee.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Palmiotti and Evan Dorkin brought another depressing point of interest to the comics Twittersphere, linking to a story about legendary artist Frank Frazetta's son robbing the family museum. In other, more hopeful tweets, Neil Gaiman is making tons of latkes for Chanukkah, Marc Bernardin had a positive micro-review for "Avatar" and Bryan Hitch posted an in-progress piece of "Captain America: Reborn."

Check it all out after the jump in the Twitter Report for December 11, 2009. Read more...

Captain America - TwitterJoe Quesada didn't dish on what went on, but he did tweet that he had an all-caps "AMAZING" meeting about the script for "The First Avenger: Captain America." Kevin Smith, meanwhile, just wants to see his film "A Couple of Dicks" make it to theaters, even with a title change. He posted a status update today with some details.

In other tweets, Andy Diggle reacted to Grant Morrison's newly announced "The Return of Bruce Wayne," Rob Liefeld loved the season finale of "Glee" and Jimmy Palmiotti threw out his thoughts on Tiger Woods. Check out those posts and more after the jump.

It's all in the Twitter Report for December 10, 2009. Read more...

Alan MooreThe writer of "Watchmen" and "V for Vendetta" might not be on Twitter, but Twitter knows that it's his birthday today. Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman and loads of other comickers tweeted well-wishing out to Alan Moore (even though he doesn't have his own account... that we know of).

Back in New York, Marvel's Spider-Man summit appears to have subsided, and Victor Gischler inquired about a hypothetical Deadpool summit, which Fred Van Lente in turn discussed with him. After the jump, you can read my little Twitter mixtape about what they had to say, along with Mark Waid's reaction to the latest "Doctor Who" special and Jimmy Palmiotti's thoughts on Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland."

It's all in the Twitter Report for November 18, 2009. Read more...

TwitterCheck Jimmy Palmiotti off your list of comics creators still looking for a Halloween costume. According his tweets, he's got his Comedian outfit from "Watchmen" all taken care of—even if he's still working on growing out his mustache.

Meanwhile, Jim Lee sketched a costume last night that you won't see him draw too often, and he posted an image in his feed. There are a few other Twitter pics you should check out as well today, as the webcomics crew from Transmission X seems to have set up an exhibit in Portugal featuring some mighty fine decorations. Unfortunately, there are no pics to accompany Rob Liefeld's announcement that he'll be getting "Lakers stuff" shaved into his head to kick off the new NBA season.

Plenty more awaits you after the jump in the Twitter Report for October 28, 2009. Read more...

Sarah SilvermanLongtime artistic collaborators Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner recently weighed in with their preferred actress to portray the lead character in “The Pro,” a proposed live-action adaptation of their 2002 graphic novel with writer Garth Ennis.

“The Pro”—a comedy which follows the misadventures of a prostitute who gains superpowers and reluctantly joins a superteam—has been in development as a potential animated series for several years. While a “killer demo” has reportedly been produced, the series itself has not found a home.

Over on his blog, Palmiotti revealed that the creative team is now considering “The Pro” as a potential live-action project. He also had a surprising casting choice for the lead character. Read more...

Captain America"Mad Men" and "30 Rock" may have won big at the Emmy Awards ceremony Sunday, but Neil Patrick Harris got Mark Waid's pick for performance of the night. Meanwhile, Jon Hamm, star of the night's Outstanding Drama Series winner, got a nod from Rob Liefeld in a tweet calling him an ideal candidate to star in "The First Avenger: Captain America."

Amid the other Emmy and NFL tweets that flew around Sunday, Jock updated on his "Judge Dredd" work and "Losers" set visit plans, adding that he's going to be drawing Jeffrey Dean Morgan for a charity event. Elsewhere, Jimmy Palmiotti called for a moratorium on vampire-genre tales, and Chris Staros lavished praise on the Windy City Comicon show in Chicago.

Check out all of those posts, as well as memorial note from Joe Quesada and which "Losers" creator had a meeting with Marvel today. It's in the Twitter Report for September 21, 2009. Read more...

Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada's creator-owned "Painkiller Jane" has seen two live-action incarnations -- once as a made-for-television movie, then again as a short-lived television series. The adaptations both premiered on the SyFy Channel to mixed reviews, begging the question: what will it take to successfully relaunch "Painkiller Jane"?

Palmiotti has the answer, as he exclusively revealed to MTV News that an all-new adaptation of the fast-healing vigilante is in the works. The creator said that not only is there a development deal that he's finalizing for a new "Painkiller Jane" film, but he himself will be directly involved in the latest live-action update. Jonah HexAs one of the co-writers of DC Comics' "Jonah Hex" series, Jimmy Palmiotti understandably has high hopes for the Warner Bros. live-action film adaptation. Luckily for the writer-artist, any doubts that he may have had were quelled by a visit to the production in which he not only saw two "major scenes" being filmed, but also had a close encounter with the iconic character brought to life.

"We get to the set and there on horseback is [Josh] Brolin in full Jonah Hex makeup with the hat and the coat on," Palmiotti described in an interview with MTV News. "He just walks by us slowly on the horse and looks down at us, and I have to say -- he looks amazing."

While on the set of "Jonah Hex," Palmiotti and co-writer Justin Gray met the film's star and his on-screen nemesis, John Malkovich. The actors spoke with the comic book veterans about both the movie and the source material, and found that their work wasn't being ignored by the cast and crew. In fact, "Jonah Hex" readers should find some very specific call-outs to the comic peppering the movie. Read more...
