Julie NewmarCatwoman's making a comeback in "The Dark Knight Rises," though not everybody is fully on board with Anne Hathaway's take on the classic Batman rogue just yet.

Admittedly, we've barely seen anything so far — just one official Catwoman still, some thoughts from Hathaway on the costume and some photos from the set — so it goes to show how quickly some of us have jumped to conclusions about this still developing movie.

Indeed, while most fans have learned to trust in Christopher Nolan's vision, there still seems to be a lot of pressure on "Dark Knight" newcomers like Hathaway… so it should come as little surprise that a previous Catwoman has spoken out about the difficulties of tackling such an iconic character.

Adam WestAs one of the most light-hearted and action-packed incarnations of Batman in recent memory, Cartoon Network's "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" often draws comparisons to Adam West's campy "Batman" series from the swinging '60s. Now the man who out-surfed the Joker could be returning to his costumed roots for the series' second season.

According to Collider, an unnamed creator from the show broke the news during an interview at last month's San Diego Comic-Con.

“Julie Newmar is playing Martha Wayne, and playing Bruce’s father, Thomas Wayne, will be Adam West! I think they’re very appropriate parents for Batman…" said the anonymous creator, "I should probably not be revealing this.” Read More...

There are a couple of reasons why I love this story in the New York Daily News about 60s Catwoman star Julie Newmar talking Angelina Jolie up to play the role in the next installment of Christopher Nolan franchise re-boot.

Let's take a look at the quote, shall we? "Angelina would own the part," said Newmar to the News. She continued, "My industry friends tell me [she] has made inquiries about the role." One can't quibble with the first part. In fact Jolie almost fits the role so well it's hard not to imagine that Nolan and company haven't put her on a short list somewhere. Read More...
