Justice League

Through more than a decade of work, voice actress Susan Eisenberg has become the definitive voice of Wonder Woman over multiple "Justice League" cartoon series and straight-for-DVD releases. She returns as Diana Prince in the upcoming "Justice League: Doom," which looks like yet another success in DC's long line of animated adaptations. "Doom" modifies the famous "Tower of Babel" JLA comic book storyline into something more expansive, replacing Ra's al Ghul with an entire Legion of Doom to use Batman's contingency plans against the Justice League.

In anticipation of the movie's release, Eisenberg gave an extensive interview in which she touched on all things DC-related.

Justice League

Sometimes things just weren't meant to be, and you have to move on. Such is the case with director George Miller and his attempt at a "Justice League" film back in 2008. After hiring most of the cast, including Armie Hammer as Batman and Common as Green Lantern, Miller never received the green light to go ahead with production and ultimately shut the project down.

In a recent interview with Superhero Hype, Miller looked back on the film that never was and how that experience led to his love affair with Common.

SmallvilleBy Benny Adams

If you’re a "Smallville" fanatic like me, you know that the show is finally coming to an end after ten seasons on The CW. And now that life without "Smallville" is a very real possibility, I can't help but wonder, "What's next?"

What comics-based series is there to watch after "Smallville" is over? Where will I be able to get my fix?

With that question in mind, I've come up with my own list of "Smallville" spinoffs that could fill the void left by this amazing show. Read More...

The release of “Green Lantern” may be fast approaching, but that isn’t the only comics-inspired movie being talked about with Ryan Reynolds. No, believe it or not, we're not talking about "Deadpool," but another film which would involve the presence of the willful Hal Jordan.

At the WonderCon convention in San Francisco this past weekend, MTV News sat down with Reynolds and asked him about the recently announced “Justice League” movie and if he might be involved. But don't get your hopes too high, because Reynolds says he hasn't heard any news of his own involvement.

“I hear about it, but I hear about it the same way you do,” Reynolds said about the movie. "You know . . . from a Ouiji board.”

Zack SnyderAll of DC fandom let out a collective gasp when news broke—rather anti-climactically—that Warner Bros. aims to release a “Justice League” movie as soon as 2013.

The forecast came courtesy of studio boss Jeff Robinov during an interview for an LA Times profile, while the comic news blogosphere—currently juggling updates on Zack Snyder’s “Superman: Man of Steel” and Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight Rises”—speculated about the versions of the icons filling the future league’s ranks.

Speaking to HeyUGuys during the UK premiere of his film “Sucker Punch,” Snyder clarified where his “Man Of Steel” might fit within a future “Justice League." Read More...

For more than a decade now, the notion of a "Justice League" movie has been one of the great, golden egg-laying geese of the comic book movie world. On paper, it's brilliant: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman and any number of other DC superheroes all in one movie. What red-blooded comic book geek wouldn't want to see that?

Now it turns out that such a thing might actually be happening, confirmed directly from a source who ought to know a thing or two about what's upcoming for DC Comics on the big screen.

Warner Bros. boss Jeff Robinov must have dropped the info bomb in a rather off-handed way during his interview for a recent Los Angeles Times profile. There's no direct quote regarding "Justice Leage" in the story; the writer instead paraphrases Robinov. Read More...

With Marvel's "The Avengers" on the horizon, many fans are wondering when DC Entertainment will announce a "Justice League" film. There's no indication of when or if such an announcement will be made, but fans nearly had a "Justice League" movie to call their own three years ago before it got canceled — largely thanks to the Writers Guild of America strike in 2007.

"The Social Network" star Armie Hammer was one of the young actors cast in "Justice League Mortal," a film that never got off the ground but came quite close. Hammer, who would have played Batman in the film, recently spoke with MTV News and recalled the events that led up to the project's termination.

"We had gotten a long way into pre-production," said Hammer about the ill-fated Australia-set production. "We were about to start shooting when the writer's strike happened at the end of 2007, and then the Australian government denied a 40% tax rebate that they thought they were going to have, so a lot of things just when wrong." Remember when Warner Bros. was planning a live-action "Justice League" movie that put Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash on the same screen? With so much happening in the DC and the Marvel movie-verses the last few years, it's easy to forget about the film, which was scheduled to hit theaters in 2008 before stalling out. However, that doesn't mean we're not intrigued by what might have been.

When MTV News caught up with "Sorcerer's Apprentice" actress Teresa Palmer recently, she said she hoped to still play Talia Al Ghul at some point, and confirmed an old rumor that co-star Jay Baruchel was cast in the film as the main villain, Maxwell Lord.

"Jay and I were both attached to do that movie, 'The Justice League of America,'" said Palmer. "I was Talia Al Ghul, he was Maxwell Lord."

"It's been sidelined for the time being and we don't really know what's happening with it, so fingers crossed it will still come off the ground," she added.

What do you think about Baruchel playing Maxwell Lord? What about Palmer as Tali Al Ghul? Think we'll ever see a live-action "Justice League" movie? Let us know in the comment section or on Twitter!

The Flash"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan's involvement in rebooting the "Superman" franchise has led many fans to wonder whether or not DC Entertainment will follow Marvel Studios' example of creating a cohesive cinematic comic book universe — but for now, DC isn't saying one way or the other.

Speaking at this past weekend's WonderCon convention in San Francisco, Geoff Johnsthe newly appointed Chief Creative Officer for DC Entertainment — told fans that he was not at liberty to discuss DC's current film plans.

"We're trying to bring everything together, but everything comes from the comics," he said, according to Coming Soon. "You'll see in the coming months how it's going to be better integrated. I'm really excited about it, but it's so early, I can't get into details yet."

As for when Johns would be able to discuss DC Entertainment's plans in greater detail, the "Blackest Night" writer cryptically teased: "We'll talk in San Diego." Read More...

"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan certainly has his hands full these days juggling both the blockbuster Batman movies and an upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise.

With the big-screen futures of DC's best-known characters now under one creator's purview, we had to ask the filmmaker how he's approaching his new gig as the Man of Steel's shepherd — and whether this brings us any closer to a "Justice League" team-up between the two characters.

"We're producing the [Superman] film and David Goyer had a terrific take on the story," Nolan told MTV News during this week's ShoWest convention. "I've been working on the story with David, and he's going to go off and write it, and we'll see where it goes." Read More...
