'LEGO Batman'For those of you out there who can't get enough of the Danish version of Batman and his infamous Rogues Gallery, Warner Bros. and Apple have your hook up, announcing this week that "LEGO Batman: Gotham City Games” will be available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Based on the award-winning, best-selling "LEGO Batman" video game released earlier this year, "Gotham City Games" will offer 16 mini-games that take players deep inside Wayne Manor. After the jump, we run down a few of the games fans of building block toys, handheld gadgets and the Dark Knight can expect. Read more...

'Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe'The one-two punch of Batman's utility belt and the cutesy world of Lego building blocks weren't enough to top the power of The Force in last month's videogame sales, according to a recent Variety report.

Approximately 1.5 million copies of LucasArts' "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" were sold last month, compared to only 544,000 copies of "Lego Batman," but the article notes that "Lego Batman" only went on sale in the last week of the month. Warner Bros. purchased Traveler's Tales, the developer of the immensely popular "Lego" videogames, last year, and "Lego Batman" looks to be the the studio's biggest release of the year. Read more...

Lego JokerOur videogame-lovin' sister blog, MTV Multiplayer, got their hands on an exclusive trailer for the recently-released "Lego Batman" video game. For those of you still on the fence as to whether or not you should pick up a copy of the game, the clip just might make your decision easier, showcasing the game's solid roster of Batman's Rogues Gallery (and holy bug zapper -- is that Killer Moth making a cameo?!) as well as some amazing cut scenes and game play. And if that's not enough for all you gamers out there, Multiplayer also has a bunch of exclusive screenshots as well!

Check out the exclusive game clip here!

Did you get "Lego Batman" yet? If so, what do you think? We'd love to hear some reports and reviews on the game in the comments.

'Lego Batman'The fine folks over at i09 have got their hands on a bevy -- yes, a bevy -- of "Lego Batman" screenshots and a video showing off what's most likely the opening video to the game. In addition to all of that, they also have some super-cool images of the various vehicles driven by the characters, including Catwoman's Cat-bike, a Joker-themed helicopter and delivery van (most likely for delivering various types of horribleness), and even some dangerously cute lil' contraptions driven by the megalomaniacal Mr. Freeze and murderer-for-hire, Killer Croc.

Just to remind all of you fans of Danish building block toys and the Caped Crusader, the game will be based in the comic book continuity rather than the lore established in "The Dark Knight," and there has been talk that there could also be a "Lego Batman"-inspired animated series sometime in the near future. Look for "Lego Batman" in stores next week on all of the major video game platforms.

After the jump, we show you one of our personal favorite screenshots of that adorable homicidal psycho, The Joker... Read more...

Lego BatmanGameindustry.biz has reported that Traveler's Tales -- developers of the upcoming Lego Batman video game -- will be moving into the realm of animation with a cartoon based on the latest installment of their franchise of Lego-based games. In their exclusive interview with Traveler's Tales Producer, Rich Earl, the company plans on helping to produce one, 20-minute cartoon, which they hope would then springboard into a TV series for kids.

Unlike many of the other Lego game titles (i.e. Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones), Lego Batman is unique in that it is actually not based on a movie franchise, but rather the comics, lending itself to a world of Batman heroes and villains.

Would you check out a cartoon based on the Lego Batman video game? Let us know in the comments.
