Lexi Alexander"Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander is all over the Internet this week, and like her film that opens on Friday, she's not pulling any punches. We've reported on the variety of troubles -- rumored and actual -- that the latest iteration of "Punisher" has had in getting to the screen, and now that Alexander's become available to the press, she took advantage of the opportunity to clear up some of the confusion and comment on both Ray Stevenson's Punisher costume and the next comics property she could be taking on.

"I never was going to take my name off the film," Alexander told SciFi Wire when asked about the rumors that she'd severed ties with the film due to disagreements with Lionsgate Studio. Read more...

Jonah HexWith the ultra-brutal "Punisher: War Zone" set to open this weekend, director Lexi Alexander -- for better or for worse -- is poised to become a household name among comic book fans. And if a post up on the Australian IGN.com is to be believed, Hollywood has already taken notice.

According to an interview with the site, Alexander revealed that, based on "Punisher," she is now being offered numerous comic book adaptations, specifically among them, "Jonah Hex," which has been making a lot of noise lately around the blogs. While the on-the-rise director Alexander is quick to admit that she is just one of several directors in the running for the job, she did say that she's currently reviewing the script written by former directors/screenwriters Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, and says that the chance to work with Josh Brolin -- even though the actor hasn't 100% committed to the project yet -- is the real draw for her. 'Punisher: War Zone'News about Marvel's upcoming "Punisher: War Zone" film has been hitting the web at breakneck speed lately, from action-packed video clips to super-sweet looking posters to -- most importantly -- the film's R-rating. However, despite early rumors of on-set squabbles with Fox executives, little has been heard from the film's director, Lexi Alexander.

Luckily for all you Punisher-heads out there, Italian site Comicus has your hook-up with an extensive -- and we do mean extensive -- interview with the director, and what she had to say should be music to fans ears. Read more...

'Punisher: War Zone'With the December 5 release date drawing closer for the guaranteed-to-be-gory "Punisher: War Zone," Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) fans have had plenty to be excited about. Between the crucial 'R' rating (because, really, who wants to see a PG-13 "Punisher" flick?) and the silky-smooth official website (along with the just-released, we-gotta-get-our-mitts-on-one lenticular poster), the good folks at Lionsgate look do be delivering a solid "Punisher" film for those who love the smell of napalm in the morning.

That said, if you're a Punisher fan who's still on the fence about the upcoming film and need further proof of whether or not "Punisher: War Zone" is gonna deliver on the guns and explosions, hop on over to ther film's official website -- punisherwarzonemovie.com -- for not only a special message from the film's director, Lexi Alexander, but also a jaw-dropping clip from the film. Unfortunately, the clip is exclusive to the site so your tireless Splash Page team couldn't embed it here, but from the looks of things -- basically a high-octane action sequence showing The Punisher doing what he does best, blowing-away low-rent punks and literally taking no prisoners -- Punisher-heads will not be disappointed.
