Green LanternComic book scribe and screenwriter Marc Guggenheim has more than a few super-powered projects to his name, including the currently shooting "Green Lantern" — a film that the writer describes as very much in line with "the spirit of the character."

"Our goal from the outset was to write a movie that was extremely faithful to the comic book and that includes the tone," Guggenheim told Hero Complex about his work on the "Green Lantern" screenplay. "In other words, it's not broadly comedic or silly. Nor is it overly dark."

Despite those intentions, Guggenheim admitted that the movie's tone could differ from the screenplay's, "because the tone of the film is really the province of the director and they've only just started production." Read More...

Michael ChiklisFollowing the last "Fantastic Four" film, Michael Chiklis was seemingly done with superhero properties completely. However, Chiklis has just traded one superhero family for another.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chiklis has been cast in a pilot called "No Ordinary Family" as the father of a family that has superpowers. The pilot was created for ABC by Jon Feldman and Greg Berlanti — who is also one of the screenwriters of the "Green Lantern" feature film. While Chiklis has previously portrayed The Thing in two "Fantastic Four" films, he is best known for playing Detective Vic Mackey for six seasons on "The Shield." Chiklis reportedly received several pilot offers before accepting the lead role in this project.

Additionally, Chiklis is releasing a comic book series called "Pantheon" through IDW in April. Read More...

Michael ChiklisWhen last we heard from actor Michael Chiklis, it sounded like he'd reached his limit in terms of comic books and comic book movies. And who could blame the guy? The costume he had to wear for his role as Ben Grimm in the "Fantastic Four" series of films looked pretty brutal to have to strap on for weeks at a time.

However, it looks like Chiklis is headed back to the world of four-color heroes, only he'll be upgrading his role from the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing to that of a Greek God. According to a Variety report, Chiklis' Extravaganza Productions will team up with IDW Publishing to create an all-new series of graphic novels titled "Olympus," telling the tales of ancient Greek gods who return to a ravaged and chaotic present-day Earth to resume their battle with the Titans for the future of mankind. Michael ChiklisFor those of you out there holding out hope for a third installment of "Fantastic Four," by now you've gotta slowly be coming to grips with the fact that the prospects look pretty bleak these days. Considering the comments made by director Alex Proyas about his frosty relationship with Fox, "Fantastic Four" actor Chris Evans basically saying that "Fantastic Four 3” would likely not happen, and given that Marvel's rumored future lineup of films doesn't mention anything about a new installment to the franchise, it ain't looking too promising, Fantastic Fans.

Now, it appears as though another one of Evans' "Fantastic Four" co-stars is throwing doubt to the wind about a third film. MTV News caught up with Michael Chiklis (who starred as the ever-lovin' Thing in both films) and asked him if he'd heard anything about possibly reprising his role, to which the actor responded, "No one's really given it the kibosh to me, but the silence has been deafening. The fact that no one's mentioned it or asked a question says that, more than likely, that's not going to happen. I know that both of them were tremendously successful from a box office standpoint, but we've all moved on into other areas and other films." Read More...
