Laurence FishburneNot content to see Marvel getting all of the attention yesterday over Ultimate Spider-Man's race change, the powers that be behind "The Man of Steel" outed Laurence Fishburne as their new choice to play Clark Kent's boss, Perry White.

Of course, creators are still talking about the Spider-Man decision, too. They've just widened the conversation's scope. Check out what the last day's worth of debate has looked like, what Fred Van Lente predicts will really get readers talking and what a beautiful piece of original Jock Joker artwork looks like before it gets sent off to a buyer.

The SmurfsThe crowd-drawing power of "The Smurfs" proved powerful enough to tie "Cowboys and Aliens" over the weekend. The little blue guys also beat out "Captain America: The First Avenger" in terms of box office receipts, which seemed to impress writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach.

Marvel's patriotic hero continued to get a lot of attention in weekend tweeting, though, as did Harry Potter. Both of those guys, "True Blood" and a pitch for an all-new Showtime series made this morning's highlight reel.

True BloodTV shows new and old came up in conversation this morning. "True Blood" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" generated strong reactions, and comics writers seem to be looking forward to Syfy's "Alphas," which premieres tonight and apparently employs Marc Bernardin on its writing staff (always a good reason to check anything out), according to Neil Kleid.

Gabriel Hardman, meanwhile, critiqued Marvel's old Iron Man animated series—though he was more excited about Stan Lee's backdrop during the show's intro than he was about the in-story action. Find out why in our list of retweets below. It's there alongside some suggestions for revamped movie titles that use "In My Pants" as a secret ingredient.

SupermanSuperman made headlines this week with DC Comics' announcement that he will be renouncing his U.S. citizenship in "Action Comics." You'll find countless opinions on Twitter from people who don't read many comics, but Jamal Igle, Gail Simone and Matthew Clark all chimed in to help balance the scales.

And while we're on the subject of "Action Comics," writer Paul Cornell was fun to follow this morning during Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding. Relive the suspense and see what bothered Neil Kleid the most about the whole event after the jump.

Oscar winnersThe gloves came off when Oscar tweeting began last night. Haters, lovers and Banksy supporters all responded to what was going on at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre Sunday, and in many cases their play-by-play was more entertaining that whatever was going on on-screen.

Kevin Smith, for instance described "Toy Story 3" in his own predictably provocative way, while Kirk Douglas and Trent Reznor both became big topics for other creators. Just don't bring up Gwyneth Paltrow's performance with Jason Aaron, because he clearly was not a fan. Find out who Batman backed, who Patton Oswalt compared to Charlie Sheen and what could have made the night worse down below.

Walking DeadIf you're over 15, Brian Michael Bendis doesn't mind you reading his comics, but think twice before ringing his doorbell and asking for candy. Over-aged trick or treaters showed up in the gripe tweets of several creators over the weekend, though, so Bendis wasn't alone with his Sunday night sentiments.

Last night was a rather large event across the industry, in fact. If you haven't been paying attention to the world for the last six months, you may have missed AMC's much-anticipated first episode of "The Walking Dead." Ryan Ottley, Jhnonen Vasquez and Ron Marz didn't miss it, though, and you can find out what they thought, as well as what the show's zombies have in common with the Dallas Cowboys after the jump.

Dark Knight RisesRobert Kirkman got a bit sentimental about "The Walking Dead" on Twitter this morning and shared a quick history footnote about himself and artist Tony Moore. Elsewhere in the feed, Jimmy Palmiotti's pulling for AMC's new series to succeed; he's worried about when he'll be able to watch it, though.

The biggest news by far to land in the comics/movies world today was the title of Christopher Nolan's new Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises." Opinions sprouted up all over the place about who his villain should be, especially if The Riddler isn't in the script. Check out what's been proposed down below along with some reactions to the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" episode of "Glee."

Mad Men finaleMonday mornings in the Twitter Report feed aren't going to be the same now that "Mad Men" Season 4 has concluded. Last night's finale received mixed reactions from Gene Ha, Jon Favreau and Steve Lieber, but AMC's definitely planted the seeds of anticipation for "The Walking Dead" among them.

In other topics, Brian Reed found one of the most bizarre anti-comics stances I've ever seen, while Erik Larsen laid out a difference of opinion has with John Byrne and Joe Hill relayed his satisfaction after seeing "Red." You can find out where your differences of opinion lie after the jump.
