It was announced earlier this week that Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim had been hired to write a treatment for "The Flash," adding further credibility to reports that DC Entertainment is putting the Scarlet Speedster on the fast track.

There are several factors to consider before "The Flash" moves fully into production, but it's never too early to ponder who might play the titular speedster. As the film is said to focus on Barry Allen — not Wally West, as was the plan for the scrapped "Justice League" film — the actor we're looking for should embody the wits, methodology and courage that Barry is best known for.

After the jump, check out five candidates we'd nominate to play The Flash! Read More...

Like it or not, a "Daredevil" reboot is coming. It's incredibly unlikely that former star Ben Affleck (or anybody associated with the old film's creative side, for that matter) will return for the new film, leaving us to wonder who the next actor to preside over Hell's Kitchen will be.

Casting Daredevil is harder than one might think. You need someone who can pull off Matt Murdock's undying fealty to justice and the legal system, but also can still get gritty and menacing when the billy clubs come out. Someone proficient in intense action sequences would be nice — that's likely why some fans have supported Jason Statham for the part — but in my opinion, it's much more important to find an actor that can get inside of Murdock's head space, both as a lawyer and as a vigilante.

With those qualities in mind, here are five actors that could take the next "Daredevil" movie by the horns. Read More...

Patrick Wilson as Nite OwlWhen it came to taking on the role of Nite Owl in the upcoming "Watchmen" feature film, Patrick Wilson knew exactly what he was getting himself into.

"I did all my homework and became a huge fan of the comic," recalled Wilson. "My buddy always fills me in on what this means to the comic world. I knew before I even met with [director] Zack [Snyder] that I was walking on hallowed ground." Read More...

Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl in 'Watchmen'These days, it isn't a blockbuster unless there's talk of a sequel -- especially when it comes to films based on comic books. Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" sequels are a pretty sure bet, but what about the talk of a sequel (or possibly prequel) to one-and-done stories like "300”? Heck, could "Watchmen" become a franchise?

MTV News recently spoke to actor Patrick Wilson, who plays Nite Owl in the much-anticipated adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel, and asked him to weigh in on the film's sequel potential.

"It's all been talked about," laughed Wilson. "Financially, they like to do that. But all of us, [director] Zack [Snyder] included, all go, 'How on Earth could you do a sequel or prequel?'" Read More...
