"Punisher: War Zone" hits shelves on DVD and Blu-Ray today (March 17), and... wait, has it been that long since we last checked in with Ray Stevenson's Frank Castle? Apparently it has, but it looks like the crew behind Marvel's gun-toting vigilante has been plenty busy since the ultra-violent film debuted back in December.
Along with putting together a DVD chock full o' special features and behind-the-scenes featurettes, the Lionsgate Home Entertainment team has delivered an exclusive clip from the new "Punisher" DVD/Blu-Ray for Splash Page readers. Check out "Punisher Training Camp" below:

I’d never dream of spoiling any moments in “Punisher: War Zone” for you, but I feel I can safely reveal this: People die in the film. Like, a lot of people. And, at one point, star Ray Stevenson looks at one of these poor, dying schlubs and remarks: “This is just the beginning.”
Despite the fact that 3 “Punisher” movies have now been made with 3 different stars, Stevenson revealed to us that he put the line in there as a wink to the fans, hoping to say two things: He’s the only Frank Castle from now on, and he’ll be back.
“I snuck that in,” the actor laughed, talking about a moment you can see for yourself in “War Zone” now that it’s in theaters. “It kind of worked [during that killing], like ‘This is just the beginning of your hell,’ but at the time something in me was just feeling ‘Let’s be bold enough to make a statement.'” Read more...
"Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander is all over the Internet this week, and like her film that opens on Friday, she's not pulling any punches. We've reported on the variety of troubles -- rumored and actual -- that the latest iteration of "Punisher" has had in getting to the screen, and now that Alexander's become available to the press, she took advantage of the opportunity to clear up some of the confusion and comment on both Ray Stevenson's Punisher costume and the next comics property she could be taking on.
"I never was going to take my name off the film," Alexander told SciFi Wire when asked about the rumors that she'd severed ties with the film due to disagreements with Lionsgate Studio. Read more...
With the Friday premiere of "Punisher: War Zone" just days away, Lionsgate has created an "interactive comic book" to whet fans' appetites for the new, ultraviolent take on Marvel's favorite vigilante. Promising a final chapter that leads directly into the film, the multimedia promo features audio, video and photos from "Punisher: War Zone," including yet another peek at Dominic West as Jigsaw and Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher.
While the "interactive" element of the comic book is a bit troublesome to navigate at first (you might need to tweak your computer's display settings in order to see/hear all of the elements), it does provide a nice introduction to the vibe of the film and this version of his backstory. "Punisher: War Zone" edges ever closer to its December 5 release, and now, just a few days after the last "Punisher" preview hit the 'Net, Lionsgate has released another behind-the-scenes featurette -- this time, focusing on the film's stitched-up villain, Jigsaw.
IGN has the video in both standard and high-definition versions, which provide an up-close (maybe too close, depending on your taste) look at Dominic West getting into costume -- and into action -- as mob boss Billy Russoti, who ends up on the wrong end of a glass-crushing machine during an encounter with the Punisher, but survives to become the horribly disfigured villain known as Jigsaw.
Looking forward to "Punisher: War Zone"? What do you think about Dominic West as Jigsaw, Punisher faithful?
The December 5 release for "Punisher: War Zone" is fast approaching, and that means we're seeing a lot more of the film and the new Frank Castle, Ray Stevenson, these days. Yesterday, we told you about the new "Punisher: War Zone" trailer that hit the grid, as well as some new updates to the film's official website. Last week, we got our first peek at a stitched-together Dominic West as the film's villain, Jigsaw. This time around, we have a new "Punisher: War Zone" featurette on Yahoo Movies, featuring an introduction by Stevenson and a few new clips from what looks to be a blood-soaked, big-screen reboot of the Marvel character.
The new video provides a quick peek at the pre-Punisher life of Frank Castle, and includes a few more scenes of Marvel's artillery-wielding vigilante doing what he does best: punishing. We also hear from actress Julie Benz and producer Gale Anne Hurd (who previously shared some details with MTV about "Incredible Hulk 2" and "The Avengers" films), as well as "Punisher: War Zone" director Lexi Alexander. In anticipation for next month's theatrical release, Lionsgate has unveiled its third TV trailer for "Punisher: War Zone," and just in case you were concerned that the film's gonna be light on the gun play and explosions, the latest TV spot should put those fears to rest.
In the new ad, fans get to see the film's two stars -- Ray Stevenson in the title role and Dominic "McNulty from 'The Wire'" West as the disfigured and bat-crap-crazy Jigsaw -- doing what they do best: resolving their differences in extremely violent fashion. And a special mention for whoever did the make-up for Jigsaw -- not only does the character look appropriately grotesque, but you can't even tell we're looking at West. See for yourself below...
Also, be sure to check out the official "Punisher: War Zone" website which has been updated with new pics from the film and also a link for a mash-up contest where fans can enter for a chance to win an Xbox Arcade and "Gears of War 2." "Punisher: War Zone" hits theaters on December 5.
Getting excited about "Punisher: War Zone?" What did you think of the latest trailer? Talk it up in the comments.
"Punisher: War Zone" is inching ever closer to its December 5 release, so that means bits and pieces of the film are starting to hit the 'Net a little more often these days. When it comes to the latest element of "Punisher" promotion to hit the grid, "bits and pieces" seems an especially appropriate term, as we get our first peek at the stitched-up villain of the film, Jigsaw.
Playing the pieced-together villain is actor Dominic West, who seems barely recognizable behind the stitches and staples holding his character's face together. In the "Punisher" comic book series, Jigsaw is one of the Marvel vigilante's few recurring enemies, as most of the villains who cross his path tend to end up on the wrong end of bullet or, as the comics-version of Jigsaw discovered, a plate glass window.
Check out one of the two new images after the jump, and head over to MovieWeb for the other -- featuring a close-up look at the villain's disfigured face. Read more...
The official website for "Punisher: War Zone" has been updated to include samples of several tracks from the film, as well as a brand new track from Rob Zombie created specifically for the film. The film's website is chock full o' crazy animation and music, so make sure you're somewhere where that sort of thing is okay before clicking your way there. (Your co-workers might look at you funny when a blast of gunfire and screams suddenly pours out of your speakers.)
Visitors to the "Punisher: War Zone" website can not only hear the new track, "War Zone," but can also post it on various social networking sites and embed it on their own websites. We've embedded the soundtrack sampler after the jump, but be warned -- it plays automatically, so get those earphones plugged in if you need 'em. Read more...
News about Marvel's upcoming "Punisher: War Zone" film has been hitting the web at breakneck speed lately, from action-packed video clips to super-sweet looking posters to -- most importantly -- the film's R-rating. However, despite early rumors of on-set squabbles with Fox executives, little has been heard from the film's director, Lexi Alexander.
Luckily for all you Punisher-heads out there, Italian site Comicus has your hook-up with an extensive -- and we do mean extensive -- interview with the director, and what she had to say should be music to fans ears. Read more...
