FROM MOVIES BLOG: With "Predators" being produced by Robert Rodriguez and his Troublemaker Studios, it stands to reason that the film will shoot in Rodriguez's Texas-based studio. But what's a "Predator" movie without lush landscapes and dangerous jungles? Rodriguez seems to understand that necessity, which is why he's booking a trip to Hawaii.

According to Tim Ryan's Reel Hawaii, "Predators" is hoping to film in Hawaii for 18 days starting in October. And do you know what other beloved franchise is filmed in Hawaii? None other than "Lost," ABC's hit television series that concludes with the upcoming sixth season. That's right—the Predators are coming to the Island!

Jessica AlbaIs it not enough that Jessica Alba has already played iconic comic book characters in "Fantastic Four" and "Sin City"? Apparently not, as rumors swirl today about her involvement with yet another paneled page property.

ICv2 is reporting that Alba has acquired the screen rights to a French comic book series titled "The Insiders." The news originated from "various French language Websites," which also pegs Alba's "Sin City" director Robert Rodriguez as her partner in securing the comic's film rights. Read more...

Robert RodriguezFROM MOVIES BLOG: Robert Rodriguez has a lot on his directorial plate. He’s rebooting the “Predator” franchise, he's gearing up for another go at “Sin City,” he's pushing forward with a “Grindhouse” spin-off called “Machete” and he's prepping the sci-fi thriller “Nerverackers.” So we were pretty surprised to hear during a recent conversation with the director about one project he’s hoping to launch as soon as next year: a live-action adaptation of “The Jetsons.”

Rodriguez's updated take on the futuristic ‘60s-era cartoon has been rumored for awhile, but with all of the other films that Rodriguez is attempting to undertake it seemed quite possible that an ambitious new “Jetsons” would remain on the back burner. Not so, as the man himself told MTV News.

'Sin City 2' Director Robert RodriguezIn the more than four years since Frank Miller's "Sin City" hit theaters, fans have been treated to everything from warring Spartans in "300," to cartoonish crime fighting in "The Spirit." However, if director Robert Rodriguez has his way fans could finally catch "A Dame To Kill For," as well as something entirely new from the mind of Miller in "Sin City 2."

In an interview with IGN, Rodriguez described the interest surrounding the sequel and revealed the film is, indeed, moving forward -- once everyone involved can make time for it. Read more...

'Robert Rodriguez'Over the past few months, we've been hearing quite a bit in regards to "Sin City 2" -- mostly from the cast of the first "Sin City" saying they'd either love to head back to the mean streets of Basin City for a sequel, or claiming to have inside knowledge as to when a follow-up will begin production... yet no one seems to be on the same page.

Enter Cinema Blend, who had the chance to catch up with "Sin City" co-director Robert Rodriguez during SXSW to get some answers as to if/when fans can expect a sequel. "I always say 'Sin City 2' [is] right around the corner, because that’s what everybody wants to hear and I like pleasing the audience," said Rodriguez, only to add, "It might be a long corner.” Read more...

Rosario DawsonNot even a month after “Sin City” star Michael Clarke Duncan told us he hadn’t heard a peep about "Sin City 2", the plot thickens. Now, Rosario Dawson, the straight-talking star who once strapped herself into black leather to play the role of gang gal Gail says that she’s leaving room open on her 2009 calendar for the long-awaited sequel.

“Yeah, I talked to Robert [Rodriguez] and Frank [Miller],” she said of a recent conversation with the director and writer who joined forces with Quentin Tarantino for the hit 2005 film. “They actually just finished the script for ‘Sin City 2’ a few months ago.” Read more...

Frank MillerDuring this weekend's Scream Awards, Frank Miller offered up a bit more insight regarding the vibe of his upcoming adaptation of Will Eisner's "The Spirit" comics, telling Sci Fi Wire that the film was "romantic, but as in 'Sin City,' you don't know what date it is."

Miller described his take on "The Spirit" as a "very urban/Zorro story," and said he attempted to make the story "as timeless as possible." Read more...

Rosario DawsonNo stranger to the comics scene and the films it has inspired, Rosario Dawson told MTV News that despite being a fan herself, the "Sin City" actress knows better than to jump into just any part pulled from the pages of a comic.

"You've seen a lot of comic films be made really well and then some of them not made so well," said Dawson. "So even if it's a great character that they're making, it doesn't mean the script is so great."

But what sort of comics film does she want to do?

"I just did a voice in the 'Wonder Woman' animated film that's going to be coming out," Dawson told MTV, adding that along with developing a film based on her own series, "O.C.T.", she would "love to work with Frank [Miller] again or Robert [Rodriguez] and finish 'Sin City II.'" Read more...

Frank MillerItalian blog BadTaste offers up highlights from the transcript of a recent Q&A with Frank Miller which took place in Rome, where the writer/director defended his vision of "The Spirit," hinted at the status of "Sin City 2," and -- short of new issues of DC's "All-Star Batman and Robin" -- if he plans on ever returning to comics.

In response to the fan backlash after the first round of "Spirit" trailers hit the web, Miller defended his choices in terms of both look and subject material, saying, "I adapted 'The Spirit' to these changing times and now it seems more similar to my work. When I was in the director's chair, I had the feeling that Will Eisner was behind me, even if he's dead." Read more...
