Two Dixons are better than one — or at least that's what badass brothers Merle and Daryl are hoping as they set off on their own into the great unknown of the "Walking Dead" universe.

Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker are at the heart of a brand-new clip from next week's "Walking Dead" episode, titled "Home." It shows what's happened to their characters since the climactic events of the midseason premiere. Beyond that, telling anything would be telling too much.

"The Walking Dead" was back in action last night, returning from its midseason break just in time to resolve some cliffhangers, shatter some psyches, and break the hearts of every dedicated 'shipper who was hoping we'd finally get to see Daryl and Carol give in to their passion and totally make out. (Oh, please, like you weren't.) But despite the lack of happy endings, it was still an auspicious beginning for the second half of a season that promises much more drama before it's all over. Here's what went down.

Arm your weaponry, put on a fashionably stained poncho, and get ready to play with dead things, y'all: "The Walking Dead" returns from its mid-season break on Sunday night, with a promise to bring back the action, resolve the cliffhangers, and give slavering fans the answers to such vital questions as "Will Merle and Daryl survive the torch-and-pitchfork-wielding Woodburians?", and "Can the new group at the prison be trusted?", and "Will the Andrea-Governor romance reach all new levels of grossout horror as the wily blonde cleans her beloved's oozing eye-less socket with scavenged Q-tips?" (Please, please let the answer to that last question be "No".)

But with two more days 'til "The Suicide King" hits the air, let's catch up on where we left off...

FROM MTV GEEK:

If you thought the Governor's collection of zombified heads was a little bit creepy, then you'll want to steer clear of the upcoming limited-edition "Walking Dead" season three Blu-ray case. The case replicates the climactic season three scene where we finally come face to face (literally) with the monstrous Philip Blake's equally monstrous trophies. Get much more info on the upcoming set over at MTV Geek.

There's less than a week left until "The Walking Dead" returns on AMC, and though the fates of the residents of Woodbury and the Prison are uncertain, we now know at least one thing for fact: Merle lives long enough to bash a zombie's face in.

Entertainment Weekly has debuted three new images from the upcoming midseason premiere, and it looks like Merle survives his fight with Daryl long enough to face off against some walkers. That's good for us, because we want to see what adventures the two brothers get up to now that they've been reunited after so long.

Tyreese

Tyreese isn't the only major new addition to the "Walking Dead" TV universe. According to showrunner Glen Mazzara, there's at least one more big-name character from Robert Kirkman's comics premiering in the second half of season three.

"Our comic book fans will still be excited and delighted to see how the story unfolds and how we tell the story. We do have a lot of new surprising material. There’s still a major character to appear in the back half, which is very exciting," the producer told EW in a new interview. But according to Mazzara, we won't be seeing too many other new characters introduced in the remainder of season three.
