On the surface, it might look like M. Night Shyamalan has moved on from "Unbreakable," the director's fourth feature film. After all, he's already hip-deep in production on "The Last Airbender," his adaptation of the popular animated series -- does he really have enough room in his geek bone to revisit the moody superhero film?
During a recent press event, Shyamalan addressed that very question as put forth by MTV News -- is he still considering "Unbreakable 2"? According to the director, that answer is a resounding yes. Read more...
As reported last month, recently we spoke to "Unbreakable" writer/director M. Night Shyamalan and one of the stars of the film, Samuel L. Jackson, about the possibility of a sequel to their years-before-its-time superhero movie. But I know me: As soon as I give up on it is when the idea will come to me." Read more...

And he was even years ahead of the current comic book movie boom (for better and for worse) when "Unbreakable" hit theaters in 2000.
So that being said, is it time for Shyamalan to take a step back for a change and revisit his superhero/supervillain film with a sequel, given the rampant popularity of the superhero genre?
"I tell you I get asked about it all the time, so it’s not [an idea] I ever forget," Shyamalan told MTV News. "I genuinely just asked this question the other day -- should I make 'Unbreakable 2’?"
If Shyamalan does indeed decide to revisit "Unbreakable," he'll have at least one of the original film's stars ready and willing to join up -- Samuel L. Jackson, who played the very-breakable villain, Elijah Price, in the movie. Read more...
