DESC"Sherlock Holmes" producer Dan Lin, who recently spoke about the forthcoming adaptation of Jeff Smith's "Bone," has his name attached to plenty of other comic book projects, including DC Comics' "Suicide Squad" and the ill-fated "Justice League Mortal."

In an interview with Collider, Lin provided updates on both projects, saying that the "Justice League" adaptation is currently shelved while Warner Bros. solidifies its strategy for bringing the DC Universe to the big screen.

"[They're] unveiling their DC strategy in January so you'll hear more about that and they'll speak about that in the new year," Lin said of the WB's plans. "[It] seems like they're building to Justice League instead of going with the team movie first and doing individual movies after that." Read more...

Swamp Thing"Sherlock Holmes" producer Joel Silver has his hands full with films based on literary heroes these days, and as many comic book fans are aware, quite a few of those projects hail from the DC Comics universe.

Since his name is attached to many of the projects we're most excited about these days, Silver offered MTV News a quick update on some of those projects during the "Sherlock Holmes" red carpet event last week. We pressed the comics-friendly producer for his thoughts on everything from "Swamp Thing" to "Lobo" and many of the other films drawing on DC's massive stable of characters.

WatchmenLast week, we asked MTV readers to vote on their favorite comic book movie of 2009, and now the votes are in!

With more than 50 percent of the total votes, "Watchmen" was the top choice among fans — and by a wide margin, too. When all the votes were tallied, Zack Snyder's live-action adaptation of the classic Alan Moore graphic novel was the clear-cut winner over "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which received half as many votes to nab the second-place spot.

However, while many predicted a victory by Rorschach, Nite Owl and the rest of "Watchmen" cast, there were some surprises in the final vote — namely among the animated features. Read more...

We always try to find out about celebrities' comics savvy when they drop by MTV HQ, and it was no different when "House M.D." actress Olivia Wilde dropped by to promote her role on the television series and the upcoming "Tron Legacy" movie. Voted the "Hottest Woman in the World" by Maxim Magazine, Wilde didn't do anything to shake off that title when she stopped to chat about the geekery she spotted around my desk (a.k.a. Splash Page HQ) on her way out of the newsroom.

While she certainly doesn't drop by her local comics shop each week, she did have a fun story about her earliest comics-related memory: a fascination with Wonder Woman fed by the presence of the real-life Wonder Woman, Linda Carter, in her neighborhood.

"When I was little, I wanted to be Wonder Woman," Wilde told MTV News. "And the real Wonder Woman lived on our block. So I used to go and knock on her door in my Wonder Woman costume with the cuffs and the boots, and hope that she would recognize that I was her protege and bring me up as Wonder Girl." Read more...

As every guy in Splash Page HQ can attest, Eliza Dushku dropped by the office last week to chat about the current season of "Dollhouse." Naturally, we managed to sneak in a few questions about some of her other comics-friendly endeavors—including her campaign to play Black Widow in "Iron Man 2" that created a lot of buzz earlier this year.

We also asked her about another role her name is always connected with every time there looks ot be some movement forward (or backward) with a potential film: Wonder Woman.

"People always talk about Wonder Woman, and as far as I've ever lived or been conscoius of, there's been no project to be up for," Dushku told MTV News. "So that's sort of an ... Internet fantasy. They throw people's names into it all the time and I'm always getting asked." Read more...

Dc Entertainment - JLANow that the heroes of the DC Universe might receive some extra attention thanks to the newly developed DC Entertainment, could some of the company's highly-anticipated, yet unproduced superhero films finally see some movement?

DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson recently told Comic Book Resources about her desire to prioritize several DC properties including "Superman," "Wonder Woman," "Justice League" and more.

But a production company can only churn out so many movies in a given time—so where should they look first? Read more...

Sandra BullockIn the grand history of Hollywood and comic books, is there any almost-casting as crazy as Sandra Bullock playing Wonder Woman? It’s definitely one of my favorite cringe-inducing rumors from once upon a time, so when I caught up with America’s Sweetheart recently at the red carpet premiere for her new romantic comedy “All About Steve,” I had to ask: How close did she really come earlier this decade to slipping on those bullet-proof bracelets?

“How many years ago was that?” laughed Bullock, who clearly has even less of an interest in playing Diana now than she did back then. “That’s been so dead.”

The reigning queen of rom-coms did admit, however, that at one point she thought briefly about hopping into the invisible jet. “I’m not Wonder Woman; I think even Lynda Carter said I was too old,” she laughed, citing TV’s most famous red, white, blue and yellow crusader. “Really. Yeah, she said I was too old.” Read more...

Wonder WomanBridget Regan might have won over Wonder Woman fans, but what's the scoop on the actual live-action "Wonder Woman" film? As Warner Bros. and DC Comics continue to develop movie versions of their characters, the star-spangled heroine is rumored to be towards the top of the list. If nothing else, there is a script in the works for "Wonder Woman" -- and no, it's not the fabled Joss Whedon version.

CineFools spoke with screenwriter Brent Strickland who, along with writing partner Matthew Jennison, wrote the most recent version of the "Wonder Woman" script for Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Strickland said that the film will straddle the line between faithful adaptation and creative interpretation. Read more...

Bridget ReganWhen it comes to who they'd like to see as Wonder Woman, the fans have spoken. In one of the most voted-on, yet lop-sided weekly polls we've ever conducted here on Splash Page, "Legend of the Seeker" actress Bridget Regan was voted fans' favored lady to bring DC's iconic Amazon warrior, Wonder Woman, to the big screen.

Regan netted just over 62 percent of the total vote, while runner-up Megan Gale (who was previously cast as Wonder Woman in George Miller's stalled live-action "Justice League" movie) received 15 percent of the total votes. The rest of the pool of potential Wonder Women, which included Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Biel and Megan Fox, only garnered between 1-5 percent of the total votes each.

However, there was a massive level of support for a few ladies in our write-in section, with Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls and "Firefly" actress Morena Baccarin each receiving as many write-in votes as the third- and fourth-place finishers. Read more...

Beyonce as Wonder WomanEven though we probably won't see a live-action "Wonder Woman" movie anytime soon, discussion of who should don the bracelets and wield the DC hero's Lasso of Truth still generates a lot of buzz. Case in point: Jennifer Love Hewitt's recent plea to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen.

Our interview with the "Ghost Whisperer" star was the subject of much debate around the 'Net, and prompted me to use this week's poll to ask readers who they'd most like to see play Wonder Woman. Voting has been heated thus far, so we decided to have a little more fun with the topic.

In order to get a better idea of how some of the potential Wonder Woman actresses might look in the role, we tasked our hardworking digital producers to come up with some mock-ups of various actresses portraying the character. When all was said and done (and digitally manipulated), some of the Wonder Women seemed like a good fit, while others, well... you'll have to see for yourself. Read more...
